Path Of The Lilies

Chapter 181

Cao Ren moved his gaze to the stand. He smiled at Chen Zi Quan. "I"ll be waiting for you."

"Hey! I"m still here!" Lu Wan yelled. He looked like a child who has been forgotten by other people.

"Hahaha, we shall see later, Lu Wan."

"I don"t have any plan on losing," Lu Wan declared.

"So do I," Chen Zi Quan stood up and walked into the arena. His eyes were glaring dagger to the young man. "Let"s have a good fight."

"Sure."

The two of them soon entered the arena. The atmosphere was tense as the two of them didn"t have any good relations.h.i.+p with one another. If one should say, they were already ready to kill each other if only the rules didn"t prohibit killing.

"Begin!"

As soon as the teacher said that, Lu Wan was the first to make a move as he swung his sword forward. Using every ounce of strength he had, he landed consecutive hits to Chen Zi Quan, which the latter blocked using his sword.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

From the stand, Ye Jiao felt her eyes were hurting when she saw the way Lu Wan fought. There was no beauty in his attack as he advanced randomly. It was always a close call for him because Chen Zi Quan continued to exploit his weakness.

"it"s still remarkable that he"s able to survive this long."

Watching the fight, Ye Jiao was feeling bored. She was hoping that the fight would end quickly, but Lu Wan continued to attack and defend over and over. Compared to the fight Qi Huan had with Cao Ren, this one lasted much longer with the two of them traded blows again and again.

10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes….

By the time one hour has pa.s.sed, the people has started to feel bored. Both Lu Wan and Chen Zi Quan were also at their limit because they have used up their Eon Energy and stamina just to keep up in this crazy battle.

Clang!

In the end, Lu Wan retreated to the back when he saw Chen ZI Quan"s blade was aiming to his neck. He jumped several times as he raised his hand.

"I surrender!"

However, Chen Zi Quan acted as if he couldn"t hear him as he charged forward. His sword swung horizontally, aiming to hit the boy.

Clang!

"Shouldn"t you, imperial family member, learn how to control yourselves better?" Lu Wan grinned.

For a moment, Chen Zi Quan leaked out a hint of killing intent. However, he restrained it and moved back. "Do not provoke me any longer."

"I didn"t," Lu Wan acted as if he didn"t care as he walked to the side. His eyes held concealed killing intent. When he sensed the killing intent Chen Zi Quan leaked out, he almost took out his real weapon. It was a close one.

If he did take out his real weapon and caught Chen Zi Quan off guard, he might be able to wound him. However, there was little chance he could kill the prince. In addition, after that there would be a lot of guards at rank 3 charging at him. It would be the same as suicide for him to step forward.

"Good job at holding back," Qi Huan remarked.

Lu Wan glanced back at the prince. "If it"s possible, I really want to shred them into pieces."

"You"ll have your chance in the future."

"Yeah, I know."

The four of them were given the time to rest as they held the other battles. Soon afterwards, Lu Wan and Qi Huan were called back to determine the position of third and fourth.

"When the battle ends, who do you think will gain the most points?" Lu Wan suddenly asked. There would be a reward for the top three of each section, but the grand rewards were only the combined point at the end of the Spring Hunt.

Maximum point would be 30 because they could only earn 10 points from each part. First place would earn 10, second would earn 9, and so on. Their points would be totaled in the end to find out the one who got the most points.

"Oh, that should be me," Qi Huan chuckled.

"What?"

"Haven"t you realized that I take first place twice?" Qi Huan asked back. "If I get third place, I"ll be having 28 points, which is the highest because Cao Ren can only get 27 at most if he won."

Cao Ren was in third position at the first part and second place in the second part. If he got the first one here, he would be able to get a total of 27 points, one point lower than Qi Huan.

"…" no matter whether Qi Huan lost or won, the young man would surely earn first place.

Lu Wan readied his sword. "Don"t blame me for being ruthless."

"Then it means, I won"t hold back too."

"Begin!"

Just like in the previous fight, Lu Wan charged straight to Qi Huan"s direction. His sword slashed in a horizontal line, but Qi Huan parried it easily. He side stepped from the side and got closer to Lu Wan before punching his punch forward to the young man"s stomach.

"You-!"

Swis.h.!.+

The sword he swung landed on the ground as Qi Huan had retreated back with a smile on his face. He looked extremely annoying, making Lu Wan wished to hack him down this instant.

"One hit in."

"Guh," Lu Wan could sense that his stomach was churning. The punch that Qi Huan gave him was already more than enough to make him felt pain. It was obviously not a normal punch. "It"s not the end!"

Swis.h.!.+

Qi Huan evaded the next sword attack as he moved to the side. He swung his sword this time and it hit Lu Wan"s sword intensely. The strength that he put on the swing was more than enough to make Lu Wan nearly lose his grip on his sword.

"You-!"

"I"m what?" Qi Huan was smiling kindly, yet Lu Wan felt like he was seeing the devil itself. From the two hits he received, he realized that Qi Huan was far above him in terms of pure strength alone. Added with the young man"s proficiency in swordsmans.h.i.+p, Lu Wan was clearly not his match.

Lu Wan gritted his teeth as he raised his hand. "I surrender."

"So quick?"

"Isn"t that obvious?"

"I hadn"t had my fun of beating you up officially yet," Qi Huan clicked his tongue. "It"s such a shame that I can only wait until our next training together."

"…I wish it"ll never come," Lu Wan spat out as the two of them walked out of the ring. The other two were looking in their direction and Lu Wan desperately hid his trembling arm. The impact from the battle with Qi Huan was apparent.

Cao Ren arched his eyebrows. "You"re truly an interesting prince, Prince Qi Huan from Chi Kingdom."

"Everyone has their own secret, Prince Cao Ren," Qi Huan replied. "Besides, I"m sure you also haven"t gone all out in the battle with me."

"Indeed," Cao Ren didn"t deny it as he stepped into the ring.

On the back, Chen Zi Quan listened to their conversation as he felt dark lines appear on his forehead. It looked like these two were of a much bigger threat than what he expected. The strength of Chi and Cao Kingdom would surely grow rapidly.

The fight soon continued and Chen Zi Quan lost after a short fight. Cao Ren still held back, but Chen Zi Quan himself was also unwilling to show his trump card. In the end, the battle ended and they announced the ranking:

Qi Huan: 28 points

Cao Ren: 27 points

Chen Zi Quan: 25 points

Lu Wan: 25 points
