Phoenix's Fated Half

Chapter 102

3 days had pa.s.sed

Over the past few days, Mi Rong would come to stay over at grandma Feng"s house in the mornings and in the afternoon would leave to help Xia Yun out.

Jun Kai was hardly seen as he kept himself inside his office. He would rarely dine together with grandma Feng.

Although grandma Feng knew what her grandson was doing, she was quite unimpressed with how he was dealing with it too overly. She and the rest would hardly see his face. It was like he was hiding himself. If this carried on, she didn"t know when she could help this boy out with his feelings. Tut tut, always hiding in his sh.e.l.l.

Qing Qing who had been taking home school was rather bored. Her papa would come to read her bedtime stories, but that was it. However, no matter how much she loved the stories her papa told her, it still couldn"t compare to Rong jie"s.

The little girl would always complain before bedtime on how much she had missed Rong jie to her father, but her papa would always have a frown on his face when she mentioned Rong jie.

Great grandmother had told her to tell her papa to ask Rong jie to stay, but he didn"t give her a reply and would change the subject. She really wanted to go sleep over at Xia Yun jie"s place so she can listen to Mi Rong jie"s stories and eat all the bakery. Sigh, but her father was completely against it.

It was an ordinary morning for the Feng family, but they were currently occupied with a guest. However, unlike the other days, their young master Feng had appeared himself to the dining table.

It was their young master"s first day since coming back that he had joined breakfast. Usually, the young master would only attend dinner time. He was sitting calmly while the guest had kept him company.

At the gate, like any other day, a young lady in long black turtleneck dress with a warm white scarf covering her neck arrived at grandma Feng"s house just in time for breakfast.

Mi Rong walked closer to the house and was rather surprised to hear sounds of talking from afar. Usually she would be greeted with a rather quiet house and did not expect the place to become lively in a short amount of time.

Nevertheless, she walked inside and could finally see why the house became livelier. Well, if it weren"t for the young miss Xue Li that was talking intimately with everyone.

At the table

"Grandma Feng, you should have of this herbal soup. I especially made it for you." Xue Li spoke with a sweet voice.

To be polite, grandma Feng received the soup from the youngster. She looked to the empty chair on her right and wondered when would the girl come?

Seeing grandma Feng not really interested with her care and was always looking at the empty chair beside her, Xue Li asked, "Who is sitting there ah?"

However, both grandma Feng and Qing Qing we"re both quiet. Their thoughts only wandered to the person who was supposed to sit there. When was Mi Rong going to come?

Out of the blue, it was Jun Kai that simply answered, "It"s no one"s" He then continued to eat his breakfast and didn"t bother to say anything else.

To Xue Li, she was rather happy that Jun Kai was the one that had answered her. Was this called progress?

Before Mi Rong went to the dining area, she took off her scarf and hung it upon the clothes rack. As she hung her scarf, she watched with her clear eyesight to what was happening in front of her.

Grandma Feng sat there with indifference like always, Qing Qing looking as bored as ever and...and him looking rather active than usual? Huh? Jun Kai was really looking like he enjoyed the company? Well, it shouldn"t be the word enjoying but rather giving more response than usual. What got into him?

She quickly brushed her thoughts away and walked to the dining hall as she would. Grandma Feng who was sitting at the head of the table was the first to see Mi Rong walk in.

Almost instantly, grandma Feng welcomed Mi Rong warmly, "Mi Rong ah, you"re finally here."

With that everyone"s eyes, apart from Jun Kai"s, all turned towards the new arrival. Mi Rong calmly walked towards the empty seat and give a slight nod to grandma Feng. Housekeeper Hai came up and respectfully took the chair out for her. This action was only given to Mi Rong and it had not happened to Xue Li.

On the side, Xue Li was suppressing her anger down. On the outside, she was only smiling faintly acting like a senior looking at a junior. However, her eyes had a hint of chilliness in them. This girl! Why was it her that would always get this kind of treatment? Even grandma Feng would not treat Feng Li with this kind of temperament.

Grandma Feng asked Mi Rong about how it had been for her even though she had seen Mi Rong yesterday. Qing Qing who was sitting beside Mi Rong became cheerful after seeing her jie.

Those actions were hardly tolerable in Xue Li"s eyes as she watched how both grandma Feng and Qing Qing had changed. Thinking about that she looked sideways just to check on the person beside her.

Unlike the others, Jun Kai was emotionless and had not changed since the beginning. He was quietly eating his breakfast as if nothing had happened. Just by seeing Jun Kai not having any waving emotions, she was slightly content.

However, she knew it was not going to be easy if grandma Feng did not approve her. The wedding that she wanted would never happen if grandma Feng was still here. Well, if grandma Feng was still here...hmph, what if she wasn"t here? It would be much easier.

Xue Li covered her thoughts by eating her food calmly. Soon...
