Pokemon - Adventure

Chapter 20

She had glistening brown hair, coupled with a pair of beautiful ocean eyes. Her slim figure and perky chest were perfectly accentuated by her short black dress.

What? I"m no pervert. I"m just being literal in my... a.n.a.lysis. That"s right, my a.n.a.lysis.

As I was recalling her character, I couldn"t help but notice that the Pokemon laying on the ground next to her was a rare Dratini.

It was gravely injured though... With multiple cuts all over its body. Worried, I ran up to it and examined its injuries.

"How did this happen?!"

I shouted, partially angry.

Hearing my comment, Blue looked down as tears fell from her round eyes.

"I-I"m sorry... I didn"t know that the Fearow would be this strong... Can you help Tinie? I"ll do anything... Please!"

Seeing a girl cry was never very nice... I can"t even get mad at her now.

"Move. I"ll take care of this."

My doctor instincts once again flared up and I started applying the treatment. With the help of the System, its internal injuries were stabilized first.

I then moved on to the disinfection of the cuts on the surface of its skin and finished by sewing them up, before applying bandages.

A couple of potions later and Dratini was safe from any lethal danger. Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I sighed in relief.

The whole thing had taken thirty minutes tops. As expected of a great doctor such as I.

"All done. There"s a Pokemon center by Mt. Moon"s entrance, let"s take your Dratini there."

As I turned around while holding Dratini, I noticed that Blue was crying even more than before. Her tears were practically cascading down her cheeks.

She took Dratini from my arms and held it gently as she rubbed her cheek on its face.

"Th-Thank you so much! I don"t know what I would do without Tinie... May I ask for your name?"

"Me? I"m Shawn. As I said earlier, lets head to the Poke-"

"Shawn... Thank you, from the bottom of my heart."

Before I could finish my sentence, she repeated my name to not forget it and fainted. Seeing this, I quickly stopped her from falling down and gently laid her body on the gra.s.s.

She must have been tired from so much running and crying.

Why do these things always happen to me? The past few days have been chaotic, to say the least...

Sighing, I gave her a piggyback ride to the Pokemon Center. Charmeleon took care of carrying Dratini.

A while later, we made it to the foot of the mountain. The Pokemon Center was not outside but built inside of it. As if it was part of the mountain.

I started getting hallucinations of Zubats flying around when looking at the cave"s entrance, so I looked away.

Bad memories man... Bad memories.

Anyway, the sky was dark, with only the Pokemon Center"s light offering visibility.

I swiftly entered along with Charmeleon, and we took both Blue and her Dratini to the nurse.

Thanking us for our courage and efforts, She called a bunch of Chanseys and they left with the two of them.

Now that they were in good hands, I could finally relax.

After about ten minutes or so, Nurse Joy came back and praised me for my first aid treatment. It seemed that Dratini only needed rest to recover.

As for Blue, she received no injuries and was just exhausted.

Sighing in relief, I gave the nurse my Pokemon and went to grab a snack. While I was munching on it, I checked my Pokedex.

"twenty-five owned, seven seen. The ones I have seen but not captured are Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Geodude, Onix, Horsea, Eevee, and Dratini..."

All of them were from other trainers.

For now, I have caught every single Pokemon available up to here. At least according to the database. Not bad.

Although there probably were hidden areas with rare Pokemon, they could be found in other areas more commonly... So it didn"t matter if I caught them all or not.

Take Venonat as an example. It wasn"t specified in the database that it could be found in Viridian forest, but I still caught one there. It"s all about luck with these things.

Looking at the entries for all of the Pokemon caught, I lost myself in the detail. One of the biggest questions I asked myself in my previous life was whether or not the Pokedex was previously filled by Oak. Apparently, in this world at least, it wasn"t.

The Professor had his own master-copy of the dex, which was partially complete. All of the entries were from Pokemon he had previously caught. Claiming that he was too old to do so, he entrusted the task of completing it to us.

Satisfied with my progress, I went over to the video-phones provided by the center. Placing my Pokedex down as a form of identification, I dialed the professor"s number.

Soon after, the image of an old man working on some experiment appeared on my screen. The familiar sight gave me a nice feeling.

"Shawn! Good to see you. How is your Pokedex coming along? Green and Red sadly caught fewer than ten Pokemon each... These slackers."

Smiling, I replied with confidence.

"I"m about to enter Mt.Moon. As for my Pokedex... Twenty-five caught and seven seen. I dare say it is going quite well."

"Twenty-five already?! As expected of my son and disciple. I am proud of you, Shawn."

Feeling the warmth in his words, I couldn"t help but choke a little.

Back on earth, I had parents... Although I don"t really want to talk about them for personal reasons.

"Don"t worry... I"ll complete the Pokedex and fulfill your lifelong dream. You can count on me."

"Hm. That"s the att.i.tude. Shawn, do Pokemon compete and battle so hard for you?"

"They do so because they can feel the love and trust you have towards them. Never forget that. Keep up the good work, oh, and don"t forget to visit now and then, bye!"

With those last words, he hung up.

He was probably busy with some kind of experiment.

Heh, good old professor Oak... That freshened my mood quite a bit.

After the call, I rented a room and left all of the heavy stuff there.

I then took a much-needed shower and threw myself on the bed, retrieving the keystone from my spatial storage.

Holding it up, I watched as the light from the window pa.s.sed threw its semi-translucent material. Looking at it made me feel excited.

"A keystone... What were the chances? Well, I guess that I"m just lucky."

Taking a closer look at it, I thought of an idea.

I thus called up NojimSan, The Silph employee from Pewter city.

"Moshi-Moshi, Nojima here. What do you need, Shawn-kun?"

"Hi, NojimSan. I wanted to ask if you knew any famous jewelers in Kanto. Preferably the best there is... As you may already know, my funds aren"t lacking."

"Hahahaha, I know, I know. I"ll hook you up real quick. May I know what you need jewelry for?"

Smiling, I chose not to answer.

"I see. So it"s a girl. Anyway, call me if you need anything... Bye now!"

Before I could deny his final statement, he hung up.

This guy...

Even so, I have to admit... He"s efficient. I got the number of the best jeweler in the region, only a few minutes later.

He even told me that I would get preferential treatment for being part of Sylph. How amazing.

I thus called the jeweler with the video-phone from earlier, and we spoke for about an hour.

After all that talking, and going over some of my sketches and designs, I think he got the idea.
