Potion Maker

Chapter 36

Will approached the three as he smiled happily, giving them a worried look, "Elizabeth, old man it"s been a while"

The three were Elizabeth, Christopher, and their grandson.

The two were in a very terrible condition, Christopher had blood spilling from his shoulder, and Elizabeth had blood spilling from her side.

The strong smell of blood permeated the air as the bodies started to attract flies.

Will looked at the grandson, and smiled.

The grandson was in perfect condition, although shaking slightly, he gave Will a blank stare.

"Will, it has been a while, thank you for saving us"

Elizabeth and Christopher said with pale faces, as they looked at will with grat.i.tude.

"Oh, that"s right, I never got your name before?"

Will looked at Christopher as he smiled.

"My name is Christopher, you would"ve known sooner if you didn"t wander off"

Christopher looked at Will as he spoke with irritation.

Scratching his head, Will ignored the topic of him wandering off, looking at them he became serious.

"Elizabeth, Christopher, the reason I saved you is because of the a.s.sistance you gave to me, there is no need to thank me"

They talked for a short time as Cecily laid on the ground, still deeply unconscious.

The sun was about to dip below the horizon as the temperature started to drop, a slight chill became noticeable in the wind.

It seemed that summer was coming to an end, or maybe it is different regions?

After some time pa.s.sed, Will figured out why they were being attacked, and their current situation.

From the two, the events that took place were as such:

Soon after they arrived at the city, groups of people arrived, and started demanding that their family hand over all of their belongings.

The family refused to comply to their demands, and soon after, soldiers holding the flag of a previous empire showed up.

They intruded and started to smash the home and kill their family members, saying things like "You didn"t expect this" or "Shouldn"t have tried to eradicate us".

Rivers of blood flowed that day.

It turns out that Elizabeth and Christopher failed to completely erase a certain empire when they were younger and had left stragglers, resulting in them coming back to get revenge.

They decided to leave the city and find another place to live, not only because they were too weak to fight (their already present injuries got worse since the last time the have seen Will)

They were also severely outnumbered, resulting in their sorry appearance.

The bodies surrounding them, were the remainder of their family members, leaving them and Matt as the only survivors.

"We need you to take Matt and find him a place to stay, we will die within a week"

Looking at Will, Elizabeth and Christopher looked at him as they pleaded.

Will sighed as he remembered their damaged longevity

The look in their eyes was if they wouldn"t take no for an answer.

Obviously they wouldn"t.

Being put in such a difficult situation, Will couldn"t help but give in.

"I"ll see what I can do, if you want to go with us as far as you can go, you will have to ask Cecily, she"s supplying transportation"

Grat.i.tude could be seen in their eyes as they thanked Will, Matt could only be seen staring blankly at the surrounding bodies.

"poor kid, having to lose everything at such a tender age.."

Time quickly pa.s.sed as morning came, Cecily decided it wouldn"t hurt to bring them along for a short time, so they quickly set out.

During their last week, Elizabeth and Christopher talked to Matt as much as they could, trying to comfort him at any moment.

Sadly, all they said only went through one ear and out the other, he would only stare lifelessly into the surroundings as tears drained down his face.

Elizabeth and Christopher pa.s.sed quietly on the night of the sixth day, causing Matt"s eyes to grow even more lifeless.

No matter what Will and Cecily tried to say, he would only respond with a more lifeless gaze, as if he was broken.

It was two days after the death of Elizabeth and Christopher that they found Matt"s dead body, in his hands was a half eaten fruit known for it"s lethal poison.

Although Will didn"t really know the kid, he couldn"t help but shed a tear for the loss of such a young child.

On that day, dark clouds covered the sky creating a gloomy atmosphere as if the heavens were mourning..

Will stood still with clenched fists as rain started to fall gently, his gaze resting on a dying fire, as Matt"s ashes scattered in the wind.

Everything bad happened when he met them, although he was pretty sure he had nothing to do with their enemies finding them.

It was because of him that Matt had to suffer as he did, he should have been able to spend the last days quietly with his grandparents.

Sadly, although they tried to smile, one couldn"t help but see the heartbreak in their eyes seeing their grandson like this, even as they pa.s.sed they tried to comfort him.

"At the very least, if I hadn"t shown up, the three could"ve spent their last moments together without witnessing the death of all of their relatives.."

Will spoke under his breath as blood started to drip from his fists, his eyes grew sharp as he glared at the heavens.

His aura shot to the heavens as his gaze filled with hatred seemed as if it could pierce the heavens and cleave the G.o.ds that lived there in two.

Seemingly in response to his gaze, dark purple bolts of lightning as thick as barrels started to strike the earth.

"I cannot let he heavens do as it wishes!"
