*UNEDITED*

Lyn never wanted this to happen. She never wanted the people she cares about to get hurt. Is this because she hid her power? Because she - did something like that, people felt the need to protect her. They felt the need to protect her and got hurt in the process. This is her fault, for hiding it. "Rhys, I"m so sorry."

"Don"t apologize," he mumbled against her cheek. "None of this was your fault, okay?"

He tried to rea.s.sure her but Lyn saw how he struggled to even speak. It pained her watching him. He was still trying to remain strong to rea.s.sure her, he was still trying to act tough. Rhys knows she will blame herself for this, she is already blaming herself heavily. That"s why he is trying to show her that he isn"t hurt. But, she is no fool. She can see with her own eyes that he is injured.

None of this was her fault? Like she can believe that excuse.

..

Several screams resounded in the air. A blood churning scream.

She"s done it.

She is no longer that one-time murderer.

She is a repeat offender, now.

She will never forgive herself, but who cares about that? These people keep harming the people who she cares about.

And she sinks into these thoughts as she struggles to stand up. Having an anaemic body doesn"t help solve things. Only to hear the approaching footsteps behind her, "....stay back. My blood is still in tac, you"ll get injured."

"Lyn."

Lyn laughs lightly, " Idiot, why are you moving around? You"re more hurt than me."

"Lyn," Rhys pulled her into his arms.

".. I, I"m afraid."

That"s right she is still afraid.

The closer she gets to true happiness; the more fear she feels. That"s why she doesn"t spend everyday with those dear to her, because she"s afraid that if she gets too close then once again everything will slip away from the very tips of her fingers.

"I know. But you do not have to fret too much, I will be here and Kazjya too. Although the later is the one that is causing you to suffer. You are not alone and even if everything precious to you disappears. I will be here."

"Do you mean to say that you"ll always be by my side?"

"Yes."

Anybody can say those words.

Anybody can say they will stay with her no matter what happens and yet for some reason, whenever this person says it. She feels as though she can trust him whole heartedly.

Lyn backs away from his embrace and laughs lightly. "I"m sorry for showing you a disgraceful side of me once again."

"It"s not disgraceful. Your tears are quite beautiful."

"Is that a fetish?"

"Take it as you will. If I have any fetishes though, they will be revealed privately."

"Pri--" she pauses when she realized what he was saying. Her entire face turned red. "You tricked me!"

"It"s because I suddenly realised that I hadn"t played with you in awhile."

She"s speechless. Lyn almost forgot they were amid the battle field. She uses the word almost because Rhys suddenly slumped into her arms. Crimson blood soaked through her own clothes as his body made contact with her"s. Lyn"s eyes widened when she saw how quickly he was losing blood.

"R--Rhys.."

"d.a.m.n," he cursed. "Sorry Lyn, it"s hard to hold up."

No.... Rhys brushed his hands across her cheeks. The coldness of his skin made her frightened. He"s so cold, he"s losing that much blood? "Lyn, please don"t cry. I can"t do anything to you right now."

Lyn struggled to hold back her tears, but she knew it wouldn"t help. "I"ll fight with you."

She wanted to tell him that she could handle this alone. However, Rhys wouldn"t have that. She needs to watch over his condition, they will be fine right?

Lyn regretted that thought a few seconds later, when the enemy surrounded them. There were certainly a lot of them, Lyn didn"t think there would be this many.

In her lost memories, Lyn recalled many sensations - and experiencing many things. A situation like this happened before. But even back then she wasn"t alone.

Ever since Lyn realized she lost her memories when she was younger. She started to appreciate looking at the ocean. Looking at the sky, looking at the snow. Watching the stars, going to town. These everyday things - it felt like before she watched it with someone dear to her. Somebody very important.

Whenever Lyn thought of it, it made her very happy to the point where tears would fall from her eyes. Whatever she saw or touched, everything reminded her of that person. Her heart naturally gets drawn into these things....

"Lyn, don"t loose focus!" Rhys said, snapping her out of her thoughts.

Lyn turned to the being in front of her, how on earth did this thing get here? No, it"s familiar. She recalled how a few nights back when she was taking a walk. She saw this being -- Lyn knew this was a bad sign. She had been fighting it so well so how come it ended up like this? After hearing that blood howling scream she suddenly lost her energy completely.

She didn"t have much of a choice, she would have to use her remaining strength. There is no time to fret about it, at this rate Rhys will die. She can"t bare for that to happen. Lyn took a deep breath, it should be okay.

"Lyn, wait don"t…" Rhys said.

"It"ll be fine," But she doubted own words, as a huge glow wrapped around her. "Kai." It was only a theory and she had yet to truly test out this power. However, she read the ancient scripter. If it"s like what the book says, then this single command should be enough.

After she mumbled those three letters, a pair of elegant and scarlet-gold wings protruded from her back. "Ah...it worked..." The problem is, will everything go as the book said? Lyn knew this form required a lot of strength to maintain. With her current condition, she won"t last long. So she needs to handle this swiftly.
