Ensen remained knocked out, having odd lucid dreams for the remainder of the night. A few hours pa.s.sed before his expression finally began to loosen, signifying the end of the event.Luckily he suffered no physical or mental harm. The impact of learning a skill usually would not be this big, but since Ensen had never even touched a piano before in his life, he had no skills that could be elevated. Instead, the piano skill needed to be created from scratch and be given a firm foundation before imparting all of the knowledge required for the C grade.
Waking up later than usual, Ensen knew that he needed to go scouting for talent today. While the furniture would be arriving soon, he decided to wait for the furniture to be set up before checking out his building.
While it was hard to hold in the temptation, it would be worth it.
Unsure of where to scout for potential students, Ensen decided to head to the nearby park and see if there was anybody that stood out. While he only had limited uses for the talent checker, if somebody caught his eye he would have no problems using it.
After quickly changing, he promptly decided to skip breakfast in order to get a little more time out.
Heading to his car, Ensen spent the next few minutes on the road before he arrived at the park.
Slowly exiting the vehicle, he scanned his surroundings. There were quite a few people of all ages around, although the majority of which were older couples out for an early walk.
Following the nice gravel path, Ensen quickly noticed a girl sitting on a nearby park staring at a book that she held with both hands.
Evaluating the dark-haired girl, he soon noticed that she wore a Littlewood academy armband.
"d.a.m.n it, this is going to be harder than I thought isn"t it?" He thought to himself as he continued walking.
Throughout the next hour, Ensen spent his time walking around the park and looking for potential students, but there was not much to find. Because of the rather early time, there were not many young people there. Coupled with the fact that most of the talented youth in the city was taken up by the surrounding academies and public schools.
Knowing that he wouldn"t have any luck here at least for the time being, Ensen knew he had to change his thinking.
"Maybe I should look out of the city." Ensen thought to himself. Although the people living outside of town generally had less money, that wasn"t much of an issue anymore. After all, he took the Elite Inst.i.tution specialty which heavily hindered his ability to make an early profit out of the establishment of his school. After all, Evergreen Academy would not judge people based on their parent"s wealth but rather their own talents and abilities.
Deciding to head to the area near his academy, Ensen began walking back to his car. Surprisingly there were quite a few younger people coming around this time, but still, n.o.body caught his eye.
After returning to his car, Ensen quickly drove across town, but he wasn"t so lucky this time. Finally pa.s.sing the heavy traffic, he arrived near his academy and drove around looking for a park or gathering area that people used.
Looking around for quite a while, he finally came across a small, little park that was quite similar to the one he had been at just earlier. Except this one was situated on the outskirts of a nearby forest and had a beautiful pond in it.
After parking his car, Ensen began looking for talent once again. Luckily, he found something this time.
Sitting on opposite sides at a small little picnic table, a young boy and girl had textbooks laid out in front of them while they read. The young boy had light brown hair and was wearing a slightly dirty pair of pants and a t-s.h.i.+rt. In front of him laid a math textbook.
The girl had dyed red hair that mixed with her brown hair, making it look natural. Unlike the boy, she wore a green sundress and was currently staring at a music textbook with an annoyed expression.
Looking at both of them, Ensen thought to himself "They look pretty similar, siblings maybe?"
Deciding to wait no longer, Ensen focused on the boy, causing the talent scanner to promptly scan him and display his information.
[Name: Brian Brooks]
[Affiliation: None (Homeschooled)]
[Talent Rank: C]
[Specialty: Soccer]
[Innate skill: Is able to sleep with eyes open.]
Although the talent was at the bare minimum requirements and the specialty was of no real use for Ensen for a while at the very least, he was still satisfied with finding his first potential student.
"Umm… what is this about his innate skill?" Ensen asked in a confused voice.
[Every human is designated a random skill when they are born. They can range from mundane things such as being able to brush their teeth more efficiently compared to others, to being able to master all weapons known to man. While the skills are not endless, they are nearly so.] The system explained nicely.
Nodding in understanding, Ensen thought "Wow, this Brian guy really is unlucky then."
Realizing that he must have on too, Ensen asked in excitement, "What"s my innate skill? Do I have an amazing one?"
[That is correct, the host"s innate skill is t.i.tled "solitary ally". This skill helps the user stay in isolation for extended periods of time without any adverse effects on your mental health. This innate skill has certainly helped you considerably, considering everything.]
"Hey! What"s that supposed to mean?" Ensen harshly said in response to the systems jab.
Hearing a loud shout nearby, the siblings both stared at Ensen, but noticing he was seemingly talking to himself they turned their gaze away, not wanting to get involved.
Slightly hurt by both the system and the sibling"s actions, Ensen proceeded to look at the information for the girl.
[Name: Leah Brooks]
[Affiliation: None (Homeschooled)]
[Talent Rank: B+]
[Specialty: Music generalist]
[Innate skill: Song writing]
Noticing the rather high-ranking talent Leah had, Ensen said a quick prayer for Brian before resuming to read the rest of the information.
"She would be perfect for my first student, well if I can get here to join my startup at least." Ensen thought to himself. Luckily he had taken it upon himself to get some basic business cards printed a few days ago.
They weren"t fancy by any means, but they got the job done. With "Evergreen Academy" written in the middle of the card and a small evergreen tree over the text, it was decent enough that it didn"t look fake.
Mentally psyching himself up, Ensen began to walk casually over towards the picnic table.
Shortly after he arrived at the head of the picnic table and began to greet the siblings.
"h.e.l.lo, I"m the princ.i.p.al of a local academy around this area, would you guys be interested in attending my academy this year?" Ensen said, trying to act professionally.
Upon hearing his words, the two siblings turned their heads over and gazed at Ensen, seemingly a.n.a.lyzing him.
After a few moments, Leah began to speak bluntly "I"m sorry but we do not have much money."
Ensen was not deterred by that fact in the slightest however, he did expect it after all.
"Oh no need to worry about tuition, everything is negotiable. I care more about raising talented individuals like you then making a profit." Ensen said with a kind smile, trying to make a good impression.
Looking at Ensen with a weird smile, Leah responded "Why do you think we"re talented?"
Mentally noting down that Brian seemed to be more of the silent type, Ensen thought up a quick response "I just have good intuition, and I truly do think you guys are talented."
Leah nodded slightly, approving at the response.
For the first time, Brian spoke towards Ensen with a very soft, barely audible voice "Why would we trust you?" he said, suspicious of Ensen"s character.
Already expecting the question, Ensen quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out two business cards and laid them on the table for each sibling to grab.
"While the private academy is newly founded, I am an established teacher in the city. Just look up my name if you"d like." Ensen said, trying to rid the idea of this being a scam as fast as possible.
Without a word, Leah pulled her phone out and quickly searched up Ensen"s name just as he suggested. After around a minute of staring at her phone, Leah slowly put her phone down and nodded towards Brian. Noticing the nod, Brain visibly eased up slightly.
Taking a moment to collect her thoughts, Leah slowly said "We will consider the offer and talk it over with our parents tonight then. May we keep these cards?"
"Yes, of course, feel free to call me if you have any questions about me as an individual or the academy." Ensen finished his speech calmly and slightly sighed in relief.
Leah nodded then looked slightly uncomfortable as she thought of something.
After debating in her mind for a few moments, she decided to ask "You"re not crazy, are you?"
