Chapter 1673: We will end in a short while.
“Nothing. You guys heard wrongly.”
Ji Ziming turned his head around and smiled at his mother, who was still blus.h.i.+ng profusely. Madam Ji angrily flung away Qu Xiujie’s leg, which was pressing on hers. Her voice was monotonous. “Surnamed Qu, forget it if you can’t get it out. I don’t want it anymore.”
“That won’t do. I haven’t even moved it from its position. I’ll definitely get it for you.”
The older man silently laughed inside. He already had a method to deal with this woman.
“Then, you can keep it. I don’t want it anymore.”
After saying this, she held onto her mask, took her skincare products from the coffee table, and went upstairs, leaving Qu Xiujie alone bending below the sofa to look for the automatic cleansing device. It had better not be found by him, or else, he would really want to see how powerful the effects of that cleansing device that the old woman had almost fought to death with him.
There was no fight to death, but she had lost her face from being almost misunderstood by her son, so this was considered as him having won some today.
When Madam Ji went upstairs, Qu Xiujie spent all his effort getting out the cleansing device from under the sofa.
“Is this thing that good?”
He held onto the cleansing device and carefully studied it, still not noticing what part of it was good and expensive.
“It’s not bad. Imported from the US and can reduce wrinkles.”
Sitting on the sofa, Pei Ge already knew what had transpired between them. She had resisted the urge to turn back to look at them but had already been laughing inside for some time.
“That good?”
Her uncle did not believe it. How could Madam Ji be so careless to leave it on the coffee table, such that he accidentally knocked it off, if it was so useful?
“Of course. Didn’t you notice that mom’s wrinkles have become lesser?” softly explained his niece.
“That’s true. Then, can I use it, too?”
Qu Xiujie became interested instantly. Since he could use this product with the older woman not wanting it anymore, there was no reason why he could not take it directly for use. Moreover, Madam Ji did look younger than he was even though they were nowhere near the same age.
“You can. It’s suitable for all genders.”
Pei Ge nodded, smiling while looking at Qu Xiujie who was studying the usage of this cleansing device. It seemed that, as long as she told him how to use it, he would very happily use it and would even thank Madam Ji for her ‘distaste’ of it.
“Okay, then. Since your mother-in-law doesn’t want it anymore, I will take it.”
He did not fake politeness. As long as it was usable, why not? Moreover, he was very poor right now.
“Okay. I can give you some masks if you like that one. The effects are really good when used with the cleansing device.”
She offered, and soon, Qu Xiujie was already choosing from the variety of masks targeting wrinkles. He then joyfully returned to the guest room Madam Ji had arranged for him to use the beauty products.
As a winner had not emerged between the two children, they were still intensely fighting in the living room. It seemed that they were unwilling to leave and return to their room now without battling it out.
“Daddy, mommy, wait for a bit. We will end this in a short while.”
Hearing An An’s voice, his parents returned to sitting on the sofa and watching the two play go. It could only be said that it was a battle of wits, and that it was a game both adults had no say in, with it being a match between their two sons.
Experts were found among commoners; experts were even more easily found in the Ji household.
After watching for a while and noticing that there was no clear winner between the two, Pei Ge decided to read her company doc.u.ments while sitting there.
She planned to take a few days of break from work until her daughter recovered. As long as Ran Ran was still unwell, she would not feel at ease going to the company to work.
“What are you reading?” asked Ji Ziming. It was unknown when he had moved from the two children’s side to hers.
“I’m looking at this proposal. Something feels wrong about it, but I can’t pinpoint what exactly.”
“Who wrote this proposal?”
“Ji Miao did,” she answered. Although that lady was no longer around, every proposal she had done was so detailed that they could pa.s.s her review once, except this time. She was unable to pa.s.s it as there was a voice inside telling her that this proposal could not be used.
“Let me look.”
The man took the doc.u.ment from her. When he saw the name ‘Ji Miao’ written largely at the bottom, he recalled how Sire Nine had sought them at the company before Ji Miao committed suicide.
He seemed to have been grateful to no end.
Doubt suddenly sprouted in his heart.
“Is Ji Miao’s younger sister still at the hospital?” he asked calmly while emitting cold air. If he wanted to, he could easily find out who Ji Miao’s younger sister had met, including the doctors and nurses, in these past few days.
“Yes, she’s still there. I even called yesterday, and the doctor told me that her condition is slowly improving.”
Pei Ge’s eyes were colored with surprise, not knowing why he was suddenly asking about Ji Miao’s younger sister.
“Okay, then.”
He nodded, thinking that he could relax a bit when it was his hospital.
After reading for a while, he, too, could not find what was wrong with this proposal. He only placed it on the coffee table. “Don’t use this proposal.”
“Why? Do you also find this proposal not bad?”
Her voice was calm, but he could pick out her other meaning.
“Someone tampered with this proposal. If you follow according to this proposal for the acquisition, there will surely be a problem in the future. Your opponent will likely use this loophole to take over your company, so it’s better if you don’t use this. We will draft a new proposal ourselves. Don’t rush it.”
“Mhm. I was thinking that too. It’s just that I can’t find exactly what is wrong with it.”
As an experienced management executive, Pei Ge was very familiar with such proposals, except this one. She was unable to find out what exactly was wrong with this proposal.
Perhaps it was heaven’s will, or perhaps it was ill-fate, but the last proposal Ji Miao had given Pei Ge hid a huge secret.
Before the two children finished their game of go, she was already yawning. “Are you guys done?”
“Mommy, daddy, are you feeling sleepy?”
“Yes, but we can still wait for you two.”
She chuckled with her lips pressed together. As long as these two wanted it, she was willing to keep waiting here.
