Yu Jian had noticed that since the day Yueyue and Zixi had gone out for sight - seeing, both of them seemed to have somewhat changed. The array of expressions their faces were capable of seemed to have grown larger. One minute Zixi would be smiling to himself about something and the next he would scrunch up his brows as if he was perplexed and the very next he would be off in his own world with his eyes narrowed and fingers scratching the inside of his palms. Au contraire, Yueyue seemed to be worried, anxious and buffudled all at the same time. Many times he had to repeat himself twice or thrice to get her attention. What these two were upto, he didn"t know but it was entertaining to watch them confused in their own world"s so he let them be. If it was something important, they"ll come to him on their own sweet time. Moreover, he had to go outside the country to clinch a business deal. He would leave today and be back in about a week"s time.

Su Li knew Yu Yan would spring her trap after Yu Jian left for oversees. She had reminded Zixi to be extra - cautious these days. Before anything happened, she couldn"t disclose anything to him. If asked to explain her hunch and reasoning, she wouldn"t have a leg to stand on. Obviously, she couldn"t say, "Oh! I have a system and it informed me that this would happen years back but I have been sitting and enjoying myself to watch the drama unfold."

Zixi would probably think that her mind had broken under pressure and send her straight to a place with straight jackets and inform the Yu patriarch later.

Anyway, she was worried about him and he told her, "You... What are you so worried about? Stop repeating the same thing over and over again. You better concentrate on these business books and ask me if you don"t understand anything. Stop looking for trouble."

d.a.m.n him! Not worth her racking her brains to save him.

Yu Yan had sensed that things between those two had changed somewhat. It was really unexpected that Zixi who proclaimed his loyalty towards the Yu patriarch to high heavens, would be interested in his master"s daughter and had even started making a move on her. Otherwise, what could explain both of their"s dazed and absent - minded expressions the past few days. Whatever, she"ll slung them both into the mud and trample them underfoot soon enough.

Zixi had gone to Head Quarters of Yu Corporation to pick up a few files that had been asked for by Yueyue. On his way back he received a call from an unknown number. He didn"t bother picking it up the first time but then it started ringing again. He picked up the call. "Whose this?"

"You don"t need to know who I am Xun Zixi. What you need to know is that I have the heiress - apparent of Yu Corporation with me."

As soon as he heard those words, Zixi felt his whole body drenched in cold sweat. He was someone who wouldn"t believe a person he didn"t know, that too at their first word so he tried to track Yueyue"s location with the GPS tracker that was attached to a small neck piece she always wore but it only showed her location up to an hour ago.

"You might want to check if what am saying is the truth or not. Here listen to your master"s voice."

All he heard after that was Yueyue"s screams. She was being hurt, he could deduce that much.

"What do you want? If you want money or any other a.s.sets you could have asked for them but now you have hurt the Eldest Miss. What do you think will be your outcome ?"

"Mr. Xun, you don"t need to worry about my future but worry about the sparrow who is in my clutches. I"ll send you the address in some time and will also inform you as to what I want . Don"t inform the police or bring anyone else along with you. Otherwise the result won"t be pleasant for you and your master. I hope you will co-operate."

Zixi called the security head at the residence and asked him the whereabouts of the eldest miss and was informed that she had left two hours ago without taking any guards saying she wanted to be low - key and having people following her every move wasn"t conductive to that.

Xun Zixi"s anger exploded like a volcano. She had been telling him to be careful and had went out on her own. However, he had to take a deep breath even though his heart was in his throat and reply, "Okay, when she comes back, inform me."

The people who had kidnapped her might be keeping an eye on him as well so, he didn"t want to make any extra moves that would make them trigger - happy.

The people who had kidnapped the heiress of Yu conglomerate were puzzled. Not in a "they had taken such a drastic step" way puzzled but "is this girl truly fearless or not just right in the head" puzzled.

They had dragged her off a road into an van and brought her here but she hadn"t made a sound from when they had covered her head, to pulling her into the van and even untill now. She was behaving as if this was an everyday walk in the park for her. Their employer had already informed them to remove her tracker so they weren"t worried that they would get traced. The only requirement the employer has was to ruffle her up pretty bad and then let her escape before the guy came to deliver the money. The rest would be taken care of by others. Maybe the person wanted to frighten this ent.i.tled miss. They had recieved a hefty price for this child"s play so they followed the instructions and didn"t bother themselves with other details.

Su Li already knew what would happen. Afterall, system = knowledge. Therefore, she didn"t worry about anything. Counting the time she knew she would be let off in about a quarter of an hour. It would seem she had been successful in her escape attempt when the kidnappers were busy fighting with each other about the division of the ransom they would recieve.

Exactly quarter of an hour later, the act began. Since everyone else was putting in their hundred percent into it, she had to as well or it wouldn"t be sporty of her. Therefore, she chaffed her wrists while trying to break the ropes tied at her hands and viola! they broke. How unprofessional! Atleast, they should have used a better quality rope so that the amount of abrasions made on her wrists were a bit less. Anyway, onto the next step, she untied the ropes at her feet, sprang from her chair and sprinted towards the door and her seeming freedom. In consideration of the fact that these guys had really pushed her into the van like a sack of potatoes and hauled her here like a dead weight, how could she leave without exacting revenge? Therefore, while running she pushed off a rack of steel pipes that were stacked along the way on to these so called "kidnappers". If nothing else, some of them will have lingering pains from it.

They ran after her trying to pursue her but obviously these burly, stoic men were no match for a slip of a girl so she gave them the slip (at this point she had an errant thought that slip of a girl giving someone else a slip was a good pun and then she whacked herself metaphorically, why was she thinking about these unrelated things while she was in the midst of her part - time job of an actor).

Soon enough she left them far behind and had reached the main road. Really she had to teach Yu Yan that the devil was in the details. How could a person that had been kidnapped be kept in a building that was so close to the main road? Huffing and puffing she stood there for a few minutes. Sometime later she saw a car streaking past the road. She jumped and hollered for the driver to stop the car. The moron left her to eat dust from the exhaust of his car and drove away but then stopped at a distance from her. He honked the car which she a.s.sumed was the driver"s signal for her to get into the car. She jogged upto the car and dove into the front seat and told the other person to drive away quickly.

It was only now she looked at the guy. He looked to be about twenty - five with dark brown eyes and inky black hair. He asked her what the rush was to which she explained the current circ.u.mstances she found herself in. He didn"t react in any other way than the slight widening of his eyes when she introduced herself as Miss Yu Yue. From his reaction it could be deduced that he also belonged to the same circle as her which was a relief. Had it been someone else they might have panicked. Afterall, kidnappings and ransoms were not things an average person would find themselves in, on a general basis.

He gave her a rea.s.suring smile and asked, "Where would you like to be dropped off?"

She replied, "At the Yu residence. Do you know the way?"

"Yes, how could I not? I visited you often enough when you were still a little kid."

She was taken aback by his reply, "Um, sorry... I don"t seem to remember or recognise you. What did you say your name was?"

"I didn"t. You didn"t give me the opportunity to introduce myself. Hi, I am Li Rong. Haven"t seen you for a short decade and you forgot me princess?"

It was only after hearing his words that she realised that she knew him. Not her obviously, but the original Yueyue. Li Rong was the second son of his family and his family"s status was on par with her"s. They had been playmates since young untill he left for abroad for his further studies.

"Oh! It"s brother Li. h.e.l.lo. How are you? When did you come back? You didn"t even contact me after coming to the country."

Listening to her complaints Li Rong barked a happy laugh. This little girl still hadn"t changed even after a decade. Once she starts complaining, she"ll say everything in a single breath without a pause.

"Oh, I forgot. Give me your phone quickly. I need to tell them am safe and sound."

Saying that she didn"t wait for his approval and picked up his phone from the dash board and called Zixi. Yu Yue and Li Ring had been close enough not to warrant permission before partaking of each other"s belongings.

Zixi picked up the phone on the first ring. He thought it was the kidnappers calling from another number but was dumbstruck when he heard Yueyue"s voice, "Xizi, it"s me. Am fine. Don"t worry. I ran from them and encountered Brother Li on the way. He"ll bring me back home so stay at home and until I reach, don"t talk to anybody about what has happened."

Before he could even utter a single word, the call disconnected.
