Chapter 2566: A Magic Vine Plant
Ning Shu browsed the list of missions. A particular mission caught her eye. Apparently, a magic vine plant was spreading all over Planet Radoh, and mecha pilots and s.p.a.ceships were now needed there to clean everything up.
The magic vine was very hard to kill. Like how a fern would grow after a forest fire, it would always grow again sometime after mecha pilots finished completely cleaning it up.
Without a regular cleaning process, the entirety of Planet Radoh would be covered by this plant.
Ning Shu nodded in understanding. She had been a summoner in a previous task world. Her summoned beast had been a blade of gra.s.s, but it got strong enough to pretty much block out the skies.
The most crucial detail, though, was that her summoned beast had been able to absorb everything. It was as hard to kill as a c.o.c.kroach, and it was, all in all, very difficult to deal with.
After thinking about it, Ning Shu decided to give up on taking the mission. It’d be hard for her to save herself if she got entangled by the magic vine. She’d end up becoming food for them.
However, Ning Shu kept staring at the magic vine’s description. The description mentioned that the magic vine could talk, and was suspected to be a creature from another world.
The language that the magic vine spoke was not a language from this interstellar system.
Since it could speak, that meant it was already sentient.
Ning Shu suddenly thought of Little Gra.s.s.
Because of this, she decided to give the mission a try. She stretched out her hand and clicked on the pop-up b.u.t.ton that’d allow her to accept the mission on the screen.
Even if the magic vine didn’t turn out to be Little Gra.s.s, it’d already developed sentience and could communicate.
The ability to communicate with sentient creatures was sure useful!
After Ning Shu accepted the task, an android immediately led Ning Shu to the designated waiting s.p.a.ce.
Several people were already waiting there. When they saw Ning Shu, they looked at Ning Shu up and down.
Ning Shu was short in stature. Although the body she was in right now was already thirteen years old, she wasn’t tall, since she’d suffered malnutrition since she was a child. She had drunk a lot of nutrient solution since she came to Planet Omega, she couldn’t grow very tall all at once.
They didn’t laugh at her. After all, every mission always had a cannon fodder or more.
Ning Shu sat down and waited.
One after another, people came and joined them to wait to start the mission.
When everyone had already arrived, an android took Ning Shu and the other interstellar hunters onto the s.p.a.ceship.
There were many people on the s.p.a.ceship now.
It’d take a lot of people to clean up the magic vine.
Ning Shu didn’t stand out in the crowd. She sat inconspicuously cross-legged in a corner. She alternated between cultivating her mental strength and her spiritual energy by using Unsurpa.s.sable Martial Arts.
Everyone who saw her thought that she was merely asleep.
The s.p.a.ceship moved at a very fast speed. However, it still took some time for them to reach Planet Radoh.
“Everyone, we have arrived at Planet Radoh,” the leading captain said.
Ning Shu looked at the results of the s.p.a.ceship’s initial scan. A part of Planet Radoh was covered by a dark object.
The black shadow didn’t seem that large on the screen, but that was compared to the size of Planet Radoh.
A planet that was covered by the magic vine would not be able to sustain any life, and the magic vine had already spread over a very large portion of Planet Radoh.
A large wave of s.p.a.ceships headed towards the direction of the magic vine. As if it could sense the danger coming for it, its vines stood up and covered the entirety of the sky above it.
The s.p.a.ceships released endless waves of laser beams, one after another. The vines that were hit by the attack were immediately turned into ashes.
However, some s.p.a.ceships got entangled by some of the vines. The magic vine waved its tendrils, then shook and swung the s.p.a.ceships before smashing them on the ground.
The people on those s.p.a.ceships were very unlucky. Everything in the s.p.a.ceship spun.
They probably threw up all over the place.
Some s.p.a.ceships were pierced by the plant’s vines. The s.p.a.ceships were made of very strong materials, but the plant’s vines still managed to pierce through them.
Even though a single attack of a s.p.a.ceship could turn parts of the magic vine that it hit into ashes instantly, the magic vine would simply grow new vines.
The plant was very difficult to deal with.
Everyone had a very bad expression on their faces.
Each and every attempt to deal with the magic vine would cost a lot of financial and human resources.
This effort wasn’t just for the sake of Planet Radoh. It was just that this plant must be contained within the planet.
