Chapter 1784 - 1784 Shijin’s Shock
1784 Shijin’s Shock
The whole of Shijin’s clan is in utter silence.
The clan leader hovered in the air as he looked at the clan’s state.
Everything is a mess. There are many dead bodies on the ground which made him angry. But what made him most furious is the fact that the child was taken away right in front of his eyes.
And the worst part is that the person who took the child away is actually not even a Divine Plane cultivator.
“I want the whole city to be in lockdown. Investigate. There is no way this person has entered the city without leaving any traces. He might even have had some activity along with his companions. Try to find out any relevant information. I want results in an hour.”
He didn’t bother to look at his sons and left.
He went into a dark room and took a very special communication token. He injected some of his Divine energy into it and soon he managed to connect with multiple people on different ends.
“The child from my clan is kidnapped. If none of you are involved, prove that you are not. If I find any traces of your involvement in this though, I will hunt every last one of your descendants from the shadows including the treasured children.
My clan can be d.a.m.ned for all I care, but I will make sure that your clans will also go down with me without any future heirs.”
.....
He didn’t even bother to wait for their reply and cut the communication off.
Everything moved fast. Shijin first went back to his residence and laughed out loud to express his joy only after that did he join the rest of the clan. He took the initiative as he directed the clan’s forces to do various tasks in the hopes of finding Sam and the child.
He even managed to find some clues that are related to Sam and the Merc King. Of course, at least it appeared like that in the eyes of the clan members. In reality, it is just a preplanned plot.
Looking at his results the clan leader let him lead the operation to find the kid. Since his trusted aide is also dead and Chasin is also on verge of death, there is no one else other than Shijin in his eyes that could be up to the task.
Shijin is beyond ecstatic at this point and he took his trusted aides before leaving the clan grounds that midnight. After moving far away from the clan and making sure that no one followed him, he made his move. He took out a teleportation scroll and got away from there.
He reappeared in the middle of a cave and he turned around with a wide smile on his face.
The same smile that froze the next second. In front of him, Merc King’s body is on the ground lifeless and headless.
Blood splattered everywhere along with the brain matter. It almost seemed like the head exploded directly on that spot. Sam and the child are nowhere to be seen.
According to their plan, Sam and the merc king will escape to this place and in here the cave prevents the outgoing spatial travel. At least it was supposed to.
But that kind of mechanism is child’s play in Sam’s eyes.
He used this plan to his advantage and smoothly took the baby out. Now, after reaching this place, he killed the Merc king and used his dimensional drifter to move back to the cave to meet Maya.
“f.u.c.k YOU SAM!!!!”
Shijin yelled at the top of his lungs as his voice reverberated within the cave walls.
Meanwhile, back in the cave.
“Thank you, Sam.”
Maya thanked Sam for the twentieth time as she held her child in her arms. Tears are streaming down her face. She couldn’t control herself. Sam smiled faintly as he looked at her.
“Don’t thank me yet. There are still more children of yours out there and I will get every single of them to you.”
Maya looked at Sam gratefully. She didn’t know how Sam did it, but he managed to get into the core of the clan and get her child directly. But she knew that it is not going to be easy the next time. Since the other clans might have already heard the news of one kidnapping, there is no way they wouldn’t take any preventive measures this time.
Sam sat down and looked like he is meditating. But in reality, he is doing two things. One is digesting some information and the second one is waiting for two things. The reward from lucifer and then the chain reaction for the things that he already planted in Shijin’s clan.
It is about time they take effect.
Shijin is very frustrated as he came back to his clan grounds. But when he reached there, he was met with another shock. A bunch of elders is waiting for him and they arrested him as soon as he set foot on the clan grounds.
He looked at them in shock as they dragged him to the Clan head’s chambers.
“Shijin, it seems like I really underestimated you, my son. To think that you would dare to plot against the clan? How dare you?”
The clan head looked at Shijin with killing intent. Shijin was stunned. He didn’t expect to be caught and the first thing that came to his mind was the thought of where he might have gone wrong. He thought the plan is flawless.
Then he thought of the only variable that actually made the success a hundred percent, but also caused this failure.
Sam.
He couldn’t help but want to grit his teeth, but he still wanted to play dumb. He didn’t want to give himself away. From his understanding of his father, if there is concrete evidence, he would have been killed by now.
But from the looks of it, there might not be such evidence. He is still alive. Which means he still has a chance to redeem himself from this.
He was about to say something, but his father beat him to it.
“I must say I am really impressed by your plan. But if you had used this brain to plot at only other clans, then I would have been more impressed.
So, now I am going to punish you. The child from our clan is going to stay in our clan only. Now, your job is to take over the child from the Magman clan just like you planned, but instead of giving that child away to someone another clan, you will find a way to keep it here in our clan.
Also the marriage alliance you proposed should also go through without any trouble.
If you cannot do this, you will still hand over the clan’s child back to the clan while you will be exiled with your cultivation sealed.
I need the child to be back here in three hours. Now get lost.”
The elders threw Shijin out of the chambers.
Shijin is lost. He didn’t know what even happened here.
He didn’t understand how the clan leader actually learned of the whole plan.
If he knew how it happened he would vomit blood. It is all part of Sam’s plan. At the final moment before he used the scroll, he actually threw some souls to attack some of the clan members. His goal was not to kill them or injure them.
They are just attached to the souls of those people. So, when the necromancers of Shijin’s clan managed to catch hold of them and absorb the souls to save them, they got some memories, and in the memories of those souls, the whole discussion between Shijin and Karn while discussing the plan was revealed.
Now the clan leader thought that the plan played out flawlessly, so he is asking Shijin to give him the results.
What he didn’t know is that Sam has left Shijin without any repercussions and the reason for that is, Shijin was way in over his head and he only gave out a clause about his side of the deal in the soul contract. There is nothing attached to Sam.
He believed so much that Sam is just a muscle head and now he is paying the price.
He didn’t know what to do as he looked at the horizon.
He started speculating wildly. He tried to understand what might have been Sam’s motive, but he could barely think of anything.
At this moment, back in the cave, Sam finally decided to make his next move. Before he could do that time froze again and Lucifer appeared.
“Seems you like you have completed the task. Congratulations.”
“Thank you so much.”
“Now, let me give the information that I promised you.”
“Yes, Please.”
Sam closed his eyes and welcomed the information from Lucifer. When he absorbed it all, he is shocked beyond belief.
He looked at Maya who is also frozen with time in shock. Not a lot of things could surprise Sam to this level.
“Is this true?” He asked lucifer just to confirm.
“Of course it is, do you think I will kid around with you? She is a means for G.o.ds to interfere with this world. A mere p.a.w.n. But she worships them like no other. I love the irony of it.”
