Chapter 1980 Gym Fight
Sam and the rest of the freshmen all focused on the seniors.
Sam smirked at the introduction given by Crow. He probably knows more about the Gym and weight training than Crow. After all, it is not common knowledge here. Of course, if the weight training is really a serious course in the academy, then things might be a bit different.
Crow glanced at Sam"s carefree att.i.tude and the impression he had of him dropped even lower.
"The gym has some set of rules and one of the unbreakable ones is that you cannot use your spiritual energy and elemental energies to train here."
As soon as he spoke those words, a seal of some sorts seemed to have activated.
Sam and the rest of the freshmen lost connection with their own spiritual energies. Sam felt just like a normal person. He tried to use his energy, but he couldn"t access it. He felt like a regular human. But of course that doesn"t mean, he is weak now. His body is that of a divine plane cultivator.
Even if he in an injured state right now, he would definitely be able to kill a Peak Stage Astral Plane cultivator that has full power.
Heck, he could even kill a few of his peers who are their full power. He didn"t feel weak at all.
Crow looked at him, but he talked to all the juniors.
"You can record your battle techniques in the special machine that was located in the corner. All you need to do is place your hands on the machine and imagine using that technique.
The machine will pick it up and it will give a detailed a.n.a.lysis on what muscle group you are using to perform it and what muscle group would perform it better and what muscle you need train and tone to increase your strength.
This is a training structure specially designed by some of the first students of the Gambler"s academy.
This is a gift left behind for the students and no other academy was able to replicate the benefits that come from this place.
As I said, there are some more rules in this room.
If someone is using a machine and another person wants it, they can do one of two things.
One, then can either wait until the other party is finished or they can fight it out with them.
The fight itself has no rules. Whoever has the stronger fist wins and that is that.
As long as you don"t kill someone, everything is fair game.
You can also partic.i.p.ate in duels if you wish to check your progress. You can also have group fights and team fights, no one would care."
As Crow explained rules one by one, Sam understood one thing clearly. This guy is just encouraging them to fight.
And he also noticed something else that most of the freshmen didn"t notice.
The seniors are all spreading all over the place. They are taking up one machine after another slyly.
He understood what is going on and so did some observant freshmen.
"… One final rule.
If someone is in Gym, either they should be doing some exercise or you should be resting from an exercise that too for a very short time. If you were observed to be idle for a longer time than permitted, then you would be kicked out of the Gym for the rest of the day."
Crow ended all the rules and gestured all the students to go to the equipment of their choice.
Since it is the first day, Crow advised them to first use all the machines and equipment to get familiar with them and then use the machine to revise the technique.
All the freshmen were a bit excited and they wanted to check out the equipment by themselves. But to their surprise, none of them were empty.
Even the dumbells and weights were occupied.
Sam smirked at this.
Some freshmen were confused and even naively went to ask some seniors directly for the s.p.a.ce.
But they all got the same answer.
"If you want it, you can just follow the rules. Wait or fight. But beware, group fights are allowed."
Sam understood what is happening. They are being hazed. A very common tactic used by seniors in any educational inst.i.tution. It is particularly high in places where a lot of talented people gather. This helps the seniors put the juniors in their place, which they believe is beneath them.
And Sam knew just from the hostile eyes, the seniors are clearly targeting him. Anyway, he also wanted something to make some perfect noise.
He walked to the rowing machine which is the closest to him and asked.
"I want this machine."
The senior looked at him and said with a snort.
"Get f.u.c.ked. Can"t you see, I am using it?"
Sam smiled and walked to the weight stack. That guy is using three plates and he seemed to have a decently leisure time with it.
When weights moved downward, Sam slammed his foot on top of them. Pressing them down.
When the senior tried to move it, he couldn"t. He looked at Sam angrily.
"Take your leg off."
"Get f.u.c.ked. Can"t you see, I am trying to take the machine? If I can"t use it, you wouldn"t be able to use it too."
The senior is obviously p.i.s.sed. He tried to forcefully pull, but he couldn"t make the weights buzz. Sam using all his strength to press down on the weights and he is not going to let him have an easy time.
The tension on the chord increased by a lot and by now everyone is already looked at Sam and the senior.
The Senior noticed the gazes and felt a bit ashamed.
"Take your leg off, or I will cut it."
"With what? Your tongue? Get off the machine this second or…"
At this moment, Sam stopped speaking and had to duck.
*Bang*
A fist flew past him and hit the column of the machine. Sam looked at the senior who made the move with a raised eyebrow. He was just doing some bicep curls on the other machine and it seems like just to mess with Sam he had given it up.
"So, this is a group fight?"
Sam asked with his leg still on the weights.
"No, I want this machine as well, so before I go after the occupant, I thought I would take care of the queue."
Sam looked at the senior, who took a fighting stance.
"Not a bad idea, but it seems like, you have no idea about one thing."
Sam spoke and dodged the coming attack, aimed at his throat. The senior missed again.
"What would that be?"
"Gym fights. It is a very dangerous game to play and almost always, the one with more brute strength will win."
As he spoke, the senior came at him once again and Sam dodged it. The fist brushed past him, but Sam crouched down more than necessary and moved to the side.
The senior got frustrated and this time, the senior who was on the rowing machine also stood up and got ready to attack Sam. As the fist drove towards him though, Sam picked up a barbell plate that has a mark of number ten and held it against the fist.
*BAM*
The senior"s punch was blocked and the next second, Sam swung the plate and slammed it against the senior"s shoulder.
*BAM* *CRACK*
Everyone heard the cracking sound and were stunned by how Sam wielded that weight mercilessly. The second senior managed to land a punch on Sam. But he didn"t think the price he paid next was worth it.
Sam picked up the same weight and swung it sideways to the senior"s head.
The edge of the plate was slammed into his jaw and he could feel his teeth broken and the tongue crushed, along with a shattered jaw bone.
Sam didn"t stop there, as the senior was falling down, he pulled the plate back and hit the man on the face with its face.
*BAM
*
The senior fell on the floor with barely any consciousness left.
His facial bones were fractured and he is bleeding profusely. Sam"s attacks were ruthless. The hazing has been happening for a long time. Every year, every generation, the seniors always gave some juniors a hard time and there was always someone like Sam who was targeted in particular.
But never in the history did someone do something like using Gym weights as tools and weapons. They never really saw them that way and they felt that it was beneath them to use these things to fight.
After all, their aim was to give hard time, not to traumatize and harm them seriously. But Sam has a completely different point of you.
You can"t pull the tail of the tiger and expect it to react in good fun. It is going to swing the claws and chomp on with its maw. And at full force. Once you pulled the tail, it is not your choice on how the fight goes anymore.
Now these seniors pulled the tail.
