Rebellion

Chapter 3

"Mary, I am worthless to you."

"Hardly."

Kaylah gave Mary an enchanting smile and answered, "I hope we can work together."

Mary groaned as she uttered, "I truly wish we could work together."

"So, do I, but as I am now. I would be an inconvenience, in a few years we will bring in Valentina and have her answer for her atrocities."

"Farewell Kaylah, I hope you choose the right path."

"I hope so too."

They handed Kaylah the Go-Bag, as she headed towards the bathroom.

Kaylah opened the suitcase which comprised cash, a few wigs, and two suits and a few more needed features. Kaylah braided her hair, and arranged it under a wig cap, becoming a blond girl, she padded her new bra becoming a C cup. She had concealed herself plain sight and put on some red lipstick.

Finally, Kaylah could wander outside, in peace she looked towards the sun and took in its rays. She headed towards the forum, acting like a princess on a spending binge, but was always looking at mirrors. After making sure they did not follow her, she headed towards her hideout.

They built Kaylah"s sanctuary for isolation, once she entered, she would not leave for two years. Scared she would go insane, Kaylah craved a lazy day.

She needed to experience out all of her daydreams. She dashed towards a candy store and saw the new Hershey"s milk candy bar and knew she had to eat one. Walking towards the register, she paid for it and slowly tore open the packaging, savoring the sounds it made as the brown bar entered her sight.

The brilliant smile on her face caused the nearby people to speculate about the environment of this princess.

Kaylah suddenly knew she did not know the right way to eat this candy. She wanted this moment to be perfect, so she embarra.s.singly asked the store clerk the best means to devour this sweet. The a.s.sistant grinned and said, "Everybody has somewhat different techniques, but I guess you should just bite into it and chew it slightly and allow it to melt in your mouth."

"Thank you, I will!"

Kaylah bit into the bar, and would burn this taste into her heart, how is this so sweet? Why does it feel like I"m being drugged?

She stormed toward the clerk and said: "You drugged me!"

"Your wrong girly, that candy is worse than a drug."

Kaylah understood, "that heaven was wrapped in that bar, and said, "I"m sorry."

She tried to act ashamed, but could not obscure her elation as she bit into the bar repeatedly, as she understood "it is worse than a narcotic."

She walked towards, a booth and read about new events, and inventions. Reading about how Campbell"s soup won a gold medal, and about Chicago"s fancy new sewage system, Kaylah was awestruck.

Tearing up because her final moments before segregation were over, she knew it was time to get to work.
