Rebirth Of Abium

Chapter 98

Abium quickly walked away from Slum Borough"s main street to Pine street, where his other house was located. After a few minutes, Abium arrived towards the end of the street and noticed slightly obese Darby stood in front of his house while carrying a leather bag in his right hand.

"Hmm? Why he looks so pale? Did he get into trouble?" Abium raised his eyebrows a little and soon arrived in front of Darby.

"What happened? Why are you looking so pale?" Abium asked with a frown while unlocking the wooden door using an iron key.

"N-Nothing, sir. Yesterday, an unknown knight entered our hideout and killed our boss, Twin blade G.o.dwin and took control over the whole gang." Darby said with a shivering tone. Meanwhile, Abium just paused for a second and entered inside his house then sat on the bed.

"What happened next?" Abium asked with a cold tone, which made Darby flinch.

"H-He asked us to collect information about suspicious peoples in all over the slums. So, before my companions tell about you, I voluntarily gave your fake ident.i.ty, sir." Darby said with an anxious expression on his face. Abium knitted his eyebrows and said.

"Explain to me in detail."

After a few minutes of Darby"s explanation, Abium fully able to understand the situation. The incident happened around yesterday morning around 6 A.M. It was the time when Abium went out of the Slum Borough to brought a new house in Commoners" Borough"s Black street.

In the early morning, suddenly, a knight barged into Twin Blade G.o.dwin"s house and decapitated his head after parrying with a few strikes. After that, he didn"t leave. Instead, he ordered Twin Blade G.o.dwin"s men to submit to him and follow his orders from now on. At first, a few of them directly refused, which made that knight become more infuriated, and he killed all of them without hesitation.

Because of that, everyone now got scared, and some of them even planning to move to the nearby streets. Moreover, that knight ordered everyone had to gather information about all suspicious people in the whole slum and must give him the report in two days.

Abium got dumbfounded when he heard that. He now understood why Darby became anxious.

"Don"t worry. You did the right thing. So, do you know who that knight is?" Abium responded with a smile and soon asked about that knight.

"No idea, sir. He always wore a silver helmet and did not know much about the slums." Darby said with a serious tone.

"Hmm, just follow his orders and don"t refuse any of his orders. He seems to be a hotblooded warrior." Abium just gave him a piece of advice and soon sharped his gaze and asked.

"Did you manage to get those suspicious guys" names and their portraits?"

"Yes, sir, here. I used that knight"s order and managed to get a few of their portraits using a slum kid"s ability." Darby said and soon took out a few scrolls from his leather bag.

Abium picked up a random portrait and opened it using both of his hands. But soon, his expression turned serious because that simple portrait looks exactly like the image drawn by an experienced artist!

"Who is the kid who drew these portraits?" Abium asked with a stunned face.

"Sir, his name is Ash. He was a son of a knight, but his father lost his knight t.i.tle and branded as a thief by a n.o.ble house. Two years ago, his father got executed in public, and his wife and his children escaped from their home town and came to this slum to hide from that n.o.ble house." Darby said with a sigh.

"A knight"s son? Hmm, but why are they hiding from that n.o.ble"s house? Anyway, this kid is really an artist. I can use his ability in many ways." Abium muttered to himself and started to check those portraits one by one. After a few minutes, Abium finished memorizing all the images then suddenly thought of something and asked.

"Did you manage to get the list of youngsters" names in this street?"

"Here, sir." With a nod, Darby took another few scrolls and gave it to Abium.

As Abium opened a scroll, he saw a list of names, ages, and backgrounds, were written neatly. Most of them were born in the slums made Abium"s job easier. He quickly glanced at those scrolls and started to choose ten kids" names then spoke randomly.

"Tell these kids to go to 16 Black street on March 15th Morning. Also, tell them if they got approved by that master of that house, each would get two gold coins per month." Abium said with a grin on his face then suddenly he thought of something and added,

"Also, tell the same thing to that kid named Ash."

"Yes, sir." Darby nodded and quickly walked out of the house after getting five white gold coins as a payment from Abium.

Meanwhile, Abium"s expression turned grave. Because, in those portraits of those suspicious people, he saw a few familiar faces.

"Necromancers! I don"t know most of their names, but I have met a few of them in the past. As for others, I"m not sure. But there is possible these guys might be necromancers." He sighed.

"Hmm, tomorrow I have to go outside of the city and to use those two body-changing spells on myself. After that, I can directly move towards that Keeper"s underground market on time." Abium nodded his head.

Following that, he separated a total of nine portraits from the rest and started making a plan on how to deal with these guys.

Around 6 P.M, 14th March, In the Sycamore woods outside the Royal capital.

Abium stealthily entered sycamore woods, which was two miles away from the city wall and quickly glanced around his surroundings. After he checked there was no one nearby, he breathed out a sigh of relief and started to take out two scrolls from his spatial rings.

Following that, Abium also took out two intermediate magic stones and placed it in his hands. Next, he quickly tore those two spell scrolls and threw those two intermediate magic stones at the area where two runic circles appeared.

"Hmm, that receptionist told me the duration of these two spells is 32 hours. I have to get out there before that time; otherwise, they will notice something was odd about me." As he muttered to himself, suddenly he felt pain all over his body.

First, cracking sounds began to come within his body, and at the same time, changes happened inside his throat. He quickly thought his height should short a little, and like a miracle, his height began to reduce. Following that, he started speaking and tuned his voice similar to like that of that old man Baxter.

After a few moments, a figure walked out of that Sycamore woods while wearing an emerald gem embedded pendant on his neck. His appearance looked like an old man around 70 years and had long gray hair. There were a few wrinkles that appeared on his pale face, and the green emerald eyes gave off a mysterious aura. Moreover, his half ear on the right side was nowhere to be seen. Abium in Baxter"s appearance now wore a gray robe, and on that gray robe"s right hand, there was a three-star symbol st.i.tched.

Abium walked like he really was Baxter and soon arrived in front of the city gate. He didn"t show any identification, instead he just arrogantly threw a white gold coin to a gatekeeper on his right side and entered.

Originally, Abium was a little anxious as he did that, but to his surprise, those two gatekeepers gave him a slight bow and backed away from him in fear. They knew whoever wearing these types of robes was not simple, and also they didn"t want to get themselves killed for no reason.

"Heh, this robe appears helpful in these kinds of situations." Abium muttered to himself and directly walked from the main road to Commoners" Borough.

Soon, he reached Commoners" Borough"s main street and quickly entered Tupac lane on his right side. Abium knew there were a few streets in Commoners" Borough, which could pose a danger to ordinary people. On the outside, this street would be looks like filled with street performers, tricksters, gamblers. But only Abium knew what really hidden here.

"Many illegal underground death games are held here!" His eyes darkened when he thought of that.

"My friend, Baxter! I thought you would not attend this meeting. Why didn"t you send me any reply?" A deep old aged voice came from his right side as he soon saw a lean guy who appears to be around 60 years old walking towards his direction. He had short black hair, deep brown eyes, an oval-shaped face, and wore the same gray robe.

"Tsk, Yozis, you know I hate writing letters, right? So, where are others?" Abium asked in an annoying tone while clicking his tongue as he was mimicking Baxter"s original expression. He already guessed this guy was Yozis while seeing his outer appearance.

"Hmm, you look different today. Anyway, let"s go." Yozis commented while glancing at him and quickly walked forth in the Tupac lane. Abium froze for a split second and startled inside. But soon, he gave a cold dissatisfied snort on the outside and followed after him.

Soon, both of them arrived in front of a four-storied building, which was guarded by four muscular guards with broad swords on their backs. At the same time, Yozis quickly took out the devil shaped mask, which had a skull symbol on the mask"s forehead and wore it. Abium also quickly followed his action, and both entered with light footsteps.

"So, did you manage to get your hands on Novak"s diary paper from your friend?" Yozis asked while glancing at him.

"Yeah. Did teacher Rilos found out anything about Lord Nezad?" Abium nodded his head and quickly changed the subject.

"I don"t know. I think Master Rilos will ask this pendant once the meeting is over." He said and soon started fastened his footsteps towards the counter as he stepped inside. Promptly, Yozis arrived in front of that male receptionist and asked a few questions about the meeting.

After a few seconds, the receptionist invited both of them to a normal room near to the reception desk, and soon he arrived near a wall then pressed it.

Rumble!

Slowly the stone wall began to move and revealed a hidden staircase that directly connected to the underground. On both sides of the stairs, lamps were attached and illuminated what was inside.

Abium and Yozis started climbing down in the stairs and quickly noticed a grand hall appeared up ahead in their sight. Both sides were filled with magic lamps and making the room brighter. At the front was a large throne-like chair, and opposite to it were more than thirty wooden chairs arranged in rows.

Abium also noticed there were already a few figures with gray robe sat while emitting cold aura and gave a swift glance towards their direction. But after seeing it was just some gray-robed necromancers, they retracted their gazes.

Without wasting any time, Abium and Yozis found their own seat and sat there without making any noise.

Soon, one by one, more gray-robed figures arrived there and sat on their own seats.

At sharp 8.P.M, a cold aura appeared inside that room while giving chillness to everywhere. Abium felt suffocated, and his heart rate began to beat faster. Because he knew the one who now was coming here was a second-tier necromancer and felt nervous inside.

Last night before he went to sleep, Abium activated that Seer Intuition spell and checked about the danger"s in this meeting. After he has gotten a positive result, only Abium sighed in relief. But Azolla told him if there was a person like that elven guy, there would be a situation where his time spell could become useless.

As he was anxious about the situation, Yozis quickly moved towards his ears and muttered in a low tone.

"I forgot to tell you one thing in the letter. For the next twenty days, I"m planning to search for something. Wanna work together?" At the same time, Abium"s expression froze under his mask.

"Working together? No way!" He froze for a moment and soon calmed down while remaining motionless on the outside while shaking his head to Yozis mutter.

Soon, Abium saw a figure with a black robe walked with a loud footstep while showing a stern expression on his face. He was a middle-aged man around forty years old with Russel brown eyes and short brown hair.

"Second-tier Necromancer Rilos Morte." He muttered inwardly.

Rilos quickly crossed all of them and finally sat on the large throne-like chair while giving a cold look at every one.

"It seems there are few peoples failed to attend this meeting." He glanced at the five empty seats at the left corner and then shifted towards one seat at the front as he muttered. Suddenly, a masked feminine figure with short silvery hair gave a bow towards Rilos and muttered with a regretful tone.

"Teacher, I heard they were killed by an academic mage a few days ago outside the city wall." As she finished those words, the atmosphere suddenly got chilly, and Rilos asked in a deep low voice.

"Who did it?" That feminine figure hesitated for a moment and soon gave a reply with a nervous tone.

"It"s the academic mage, Zivior."

The next instant, the whole room began to tremble due to spiritual pressure emitting from Rilos and soon returned back to normal.

Meanwhile, Abium also got startled and felt he had already influenced the future.
