Abium quickly took out the zero tier spellbook from his spatial ring and searched for a suitable spell to create. He lacks more offensive power, so he skipped other dexterity types, supportive type spells. Also, he remembered fire spells and light spells deal more damage to undead creatures.Abium also reminisced he needs an offensive spell that provides area effect. He quickly picked a few offensive range spells from that spellbook and a.n.a.lyzed one by one in detail. Finally, after some time of the constant search, a zero tier spell named "Red orb" caught his attention.
He examined the definition and found this spell can inflict damage up to all the third-tier warriors. "Once the orb contact with an object, it would explode and ignite the surrounding."
"Wow! This spell resembles like is a miniature version of the fireball. I only need to build 16 runic letters in my mind to create the spell model."
Abium quickly chose that spell and started to create a Red orb spell model inside his mind. He inscribes those runic letters one by one inside his mind. It took him almost three hours to construct that spell model. Because of his lack of understanding of runic language, it took him longer than usual.

Once he finished inscribing that runes, a sudden fire elemental fluctuation appeared around him. On the outside, Nicolaus and Umi abruptly turned their gazes and noticed a fire circle that emerged around Abium. Then gradually a.s.similated inside him. Abium saw the fire spell model imprinted inside his mind.
Two spell models drifting inside his mind like crystals. At first, the s.p.a.ce element and fire element clashed against each other then slowly soothed down. Abium gently opened his eyes and rose from the meditative state and perceived some changes that appeared inside him.

He looked at his status with wide eyes for a few seconds and surprised at the growth rate of spirit and mana. He soon glanced at the screen, appeared above in the sky, and noticed the countdown.
[Mission: Kill all the undead skeletons in level 1 area within one day, 18 hours 20 minutes.

Failure – Death
Number of partic.i.p.ants: 4

He already wasted almost six hours, so he thought of continue to complete the mission. He caught the sound of a Umi"s laughing and noticed Nicolaus was playing with her.
He advanced towards the opposite side and inspected Umi"s mother"s health condition and also noticed a difference. With his scan, he saw her spirit slowly started to recover.
He a.s.sumed it must be due to the abundance of those spirit clouds in that empty void. Abium doesn"t grasp anything about that until he started cultivating his spirit. But he a.s.sumed it somehow linked to the outside world.
"I think this pocket dimension holds some unique environment. If it were outside, I wouldn"t be able to improve my spirit within that short period."
Abium judged and thought Umi"s mother might wake up even before he finishes this level one mission.
Suddenly, he noticed something was not right and scanned everywhere. Except for Umi"s chattering sound, the surroundings appear too quiet. No birds nor any animals appeared on his vision. Due to the constant fights, he never thought of that. Only plants, trees, and undead seem to reside here.
Abium instantly got curious about this and climbed up to the top of the tree. A sea appeared on his sight. And he noticed some small lands in the sea and checked clearly. He finally realized they were on an island around 30 to 40 square kilometers. Everywhere seems to be full of trees, and at the center of that island, he saw a large pond and a building.
"What was that?" Abium peered at the place but couldn"t see clearly due to the distance was too far. He climbed down from there and informed about the situation to Nicolaus. They discussed a bit about what to do next. Abium, on the other hand, started to doubt what those explorers wrote in the book.
"I think we need to move towards the center and see the situation ourselves." Abium quickly disapproved of Nicolaus"s idea because it might put both Umi and her mom in danger. While he thought what to do, a skeleton soldier appeared near the area caught on his vision.
With a single glance, he could tell the stealth ability was so miserable and easy to notice. Abium quickly warned Nicolaus to take care of Umi and her mom then he observed that skeleton. He quickly understood it was scouting the area, and once the skeleton soldier noticed the footprints and them, it immediately alerted the enemy by blowing a whistle.
At the same time, Abium dashed forward and swiftly killed the enemy. Then he waited for the enemy reinforcements to arrive.
A few minutes later, he saw a total of seven elite skeletons emerged from inside the forest. He checked the surroundings and found nothing was abnormal. Only seven Elite skeleton soldiers came here made him a little puzzled.
Abium Immediately thought of using the Red orb spell, and a red orb appeared on his hand. Scorching heat waves emitted from that orb made the enemy halt their advance.
Next second, he used his spirit to send that orb towards those elite skeleton soldiers. Once that orb touched the elite skeleton soldier, an explosion occurred. The fire suddenly started to devour everything around two meters of surroundings. A three of the elite skeleton soldiers burned to ashes the very moment, while the other four skeletons were blasted off from there and seemed to be missing one limb or two.
""Clap" "clap" wow!" Umi"s and Nicolaus"s excited voice came from above.
"d.a.m.n! Is it a tier 0 spell? It will take 10 minutes to kill all of them if I fight with these skeletons using all my abilities."
Abium wiped down his sweats on his forehead, then moved towards the half-dead skeletons and swiftly killed them. Suddenly, he saw one undead skeleton was running away from there and disappeared into the forest towards the center of the island. This time Abium confirmed they also have emotions.
Abium warned Nicolaus to be careful of the surroundings and followed that elite skeleton soldier. He continued to follow that skeleton for a few minutes and suddenly felt something was not right. Still, he didn"t want to give up, so Abium tailed that undead. It took almost an hour for that skeleton soldier to reach near the center.
A few Elite skeletons soldiers near the outpost and Abium noticed they were marching like military soldiers. Many ordinary skeleton soldiers regularly scouted surrounding areas. Abium shifted his gaze and saw a clear view of a fort.
"Huh! So it"s a military fort! Half of the skeletons appear to be guarding that fort. I think it will be tough even to get closer to the fort."
Abium a.n.a.lyzed the fort and finally noticed few red dots appeared on the scan ahead of him. That elite skeleton soldier seems to be leading him directly towards the center of that place where those red dots were hiding. Every one of those skeleton soldiers was concealing their presence masterfully and appeared to be waiting for him.
If not for the scan function, Abium might directly go ahead and ripped by those countless skeletons in a second. He abruptly stopped his movement and hid near a bush then observed vigilantly.
He stealthily a.n.a.lyzed the fortress and quickly guessed he was only a few hundred meters away from that outpost of the fort. It"s a real fortress and was occupied by skeleton soldiers instead of humans.
If he wants to complete this mission, he has to kill all of the elite skeletons guarding the fortress walls. There appears to be a total of 30 to forty guarding the fort. He shook the idea at the thought of going back.
Suddenly, a knife appeared out from the right side and flew towards his direction. With his blade, he blocks that knife, and he used scan function. Three skeleton a.s.sa.s.sins exposed his location and alerted all the enemy soldiers. Next second, the skeleton who concealed their presence came out and ran towards his direction. They were only a hundred meters away, reaching him.
Abium mind went numb for a second at the numbers. He thought of stealthily entering that fortress and a.s.sa.s.sinating those undead soldiers one by one. But now, Abium"s location was already exposed. If he proceeds towards the fort, then he would be drowned by the poison arrows. On the other hand, if he chooses to go on head to head, that was also not a good option.
"I think they antic.i.p.ated that I would follow that elite skeleton soldier here and stayed hidden to ambush me. Then what about that few skeleton elite soldiers? Are they scapegoats?"
"It"s been a while since a person bravely came to this island. Shall we start our game?"
A Death Knight appeared from behind the elite soldiers and shouted at him in a common language. Abium"s eyes nearly popped out from the sockets when he heard an undead talking.
"H-How are you able to talk?" Abium gripped his sword on his hand and asked at the death Knight vigilantly.
"Oh? Why should I answer to a half-elf who is going to be a specimen? Master ordered us to capture you and others at all costs. If you surrender yourself now, there will be a painless death."
"So it was a trap from the very beginning. s.h.i.t! Nicolaus and others might be in danger. I have to escape quickly from here."
"Worried about your companions? Don"t worry; they will also come here soon. I thought we concealed our presence and hid very well. How did you find out?"
Abium didn"t respond to that death knight and quickly backed away. That death knight ordered those elite skeletons to capture him. He didn"t stay idle while escaping.
Two Red orbs emerged on Abium"s hand then sped towards behind where other skeleton soldiers were chasing after him. Instantly, loud booms echoed inside the trees, and once those two explosions collided together and it formed a big fire.
Nearly ten elite skeleton soldiers burned to crisps in an instant, and other skeletons were also affected by the blast and thrown off.
Due to their weakness to fire, Abium noticed normal skeletons were running away from there. Although he may able to cast two more times, he refrained from doing that.
He thought of underestimated these skeletons a little too much. Without hesitation, he chose to run away and prayed others would be safe. But still, he needs to immobilize that death knight at least for a few seconds; otherwise, it would chase after him.
"$%)#^#%* @*%#(*&" That death Knight shouted in an unknown language towards the other skeletons then dashed towards Abium at incredible speed. Abium quickly used the scan function and checked.
[Name: Unknown
Age: Unknown
Race: Undead
Cla.s.s: Death Knight
Attributes
Strength: 4.8
Agility: 4.9
Spirit: 2.5]
The strength and Agility showed on the scan made Abium relaxed a bit. That death knight was already like a peak intermediate tier monster. But not a high-level monster rank. If one"s strength went past above 5, they would be finally able to fight against High-level monsters and may some lesser demons.
Abium greeted the death knight"s attack with his sword, and he cast Red orb spell once again at the death knight while battling. That attack blasted away that knight, even though it wasn"t able to kill that death knight that attack damaged its movement.
Within that time, other elite skeletons began to recover and running towards his direction. Without wasting any time, Abium ran away from there using the map towards the shelter area. Still, he noticed a few concealed enemies followed him from behind while hiding their presence. Abium guessed they must be those skeleton a.s.sa.s.sins who exposed him earlier. There seems to be a total of three of them.
Abium thought of using the technique which he was copying from the dark elf and modified.
"Image clone."
Immediately he sneaked near the tree and led that illusion figure to walk unguarded towards another direction. Three skeleton figures with a dark clock covered their head dashed towards his illusion clone. Their weapons were all directed at his non-vital spots from three different directions.
Abium noticed their approach and waited for the correct time to take action.
Once the clocked a.s.sa.s.sin"s blades penetrated that illusion figure, it immediately disappeared from there. It made those undead a.s.sa.s.sins to halt their movement. Abium immediately cast a spell,
"Blink"
Appeared behind the undead a.s.sa.s.sins and swiftly beheaded two of their heads in a single slash using intermediate sword aura. Another skeleton a.s.sa.s.sin directly used others as a shield and managed to evade from his attack. Then that a.s.sa.s.sin instantly tried to throw poison needles towards him. Abium leaped forth into the further area then ducked behind a tree.
Abium saw everywhere those needles stuck turned black color. He stealthily climbed up on a tree nearby and used a scan function to a.n.a.lyze the enemy. Suddenly, a cloud of black smoke came from that undead a.s.sa.s.sin"s mouth and spread in all directions. Abium didn"t know what the ability was, and he had a bad feeling about this. Next second, a knife appeared in his direction. It looked like the same when he exposed near the fort. He attempted to block that knife and noticed it had the same black liquid covered. Quickly he dodged that knife and grew even more careful.
He then chose to confront the a.s.sa.s.sin head-on. He only worried about those poison needles, and he now noticed no poison needles on its hand. Once the smoke started to disappear, Abium leaped from above directly towards the a.s.sa.s.sin"s head and thrust his sword. It crossed at a brisk pace and penetrated its skull.
A thud sound inside the wood and Abium slowly eased following he checked that skeleton"s body and discovered a small bottle. Once he picked up the enemy"s dagger, which seemed made from high-grade metal and that tiny bottle, then he went into the woods.
After approximately an hour, he stood at the front of the large tree and found no one was there. A few blood trails caught his attention. Abium instantly darted towards that direction like a panther.
