Rebirth Of Abium

Chapter 69

"Now I have a reason to capture you, Mr. Baron Abium. Stand down guys; I want to discuss something with this foreigner." Said Baron Harry, with an arrogant tone, then shifted his gaze towards other guards and ordered. "Take Glover to the infirmary."

Meanwhile, Abium looked at Baron Harry coldly and started to ponder what he was going to discuss with him.

Harry"s age was around thirty years, average height, and slightly obese. He had almond blue eyes, round face, pale skin, straight caramel-colored hair, and triangular eyebrows. He walked unsteadily towards Abium"s direction and stood a few meters away from him. From just by his luxurious red clothes, anyone could tell he was a normal arrogant n.o.ble.

"Baron, If you give that fairy to me, I will let you enter the town. If not, I won"t allow you to stay here in my territory. Also, you can"t be even able to enter your territory without my permission." Baron Harry spoke with a mocking smile on his face and gave Abium a pitying look. Next, he shifted his gaze towards the carriage and started grinning while remembering Count Tibal"s words.

If anyone of you brings that fairy to me, I will reward you with 1000 white golds.

For count Tibal or any other high-rank n.o.bles, 1000 white gold was a minimal amount.

But for ordinary low-rank n.o.bles like Baron Harry, it was a priceless treasure. Baron Harry had only a total of two thousand white golds in his whole treasury. It was his entire household"s savings, but now he had an opportunity to earn half of that amount without doing any work. He greedily started at the Carriage for a short moment and continued.

"If you give that fairy, I will also agree to trade with your territory from now on. So, tell me? What is your answer?"

Abium let out a heavy sigh and walked towards the baron Harry. There is always a foolish n.o.ble who speaks like this in every territory. He raised his hand with annoying expression and brought it towards his right cheek swiftly.

Slap!

A loud, slapping sound echoed!

"f.u.c.k off!" Abium spoke in a cold tone and gestured Orson and Viper to follow after him, as he walked ahead. Meanwhile, the baron stood there with a red face, while showing a face which mixed with anger and embarra.s.sment.

"You! Stop right there! It"s my town. You will be punished for slapping me!" Baron Harry shouted in rage. If this was before, Abium might have restrained himself from acting like that, but now the whole kingdom was on the verge of breaking into a civil war, so he didn"t care about this small rural baron.

As soon as that raged voice ended, and all the four gates were locked down. But Abium didn"t even glance back at that Baron and moved forward. Those two horse-drawn carriages crossed the market street, then drove towards the commoner"s district where that Inns were located. Claude had mentioned in the letter about the name of that Inn, which made Abium stumble a little.

Cabbage Inn? He furrowed his eyebrows.

Within a few minutes, Abium quickly able to find that cabbage Inn. Literally, in front of that Inn, they put a large cabbage symbol that made his job easy.

It"s a three-storied building that seems to accommodate at least more than a hundred people. Regularly people walked in and out at the entrance made him think if he came to another town.

He soon found it was odd because this town was located very far away and isolated from other territories. As for Alastall territory, it separated from the kingdom itself. The only thing that connected the kingdom and his land was an abandoned tunnel.

Soon, he cast those thoughts away and walked inside the inn while Helena and others walked out of the carriage and followed after him leaving Orson behind.

Click! Creak!

As the group opened the wooden door, the people inside that inn also noticed their arrival and gave a curious look. Soon, he identified a few of those peoples and waved at them but quickly noticed they were clueless about who he was.

"Why?" He was stunned.

"Kid! You forgot how your appearance changed from before. You are an elf now, so of course, they will give you that look." Azolla commented.

"Oh! I almost forgot." He spoke out loud and awkwardly scratched his nose.

His attire draws most of the attention, but he didn"t mind and walked ahead. Soon, he saw a middle-aged man around 40 years of age with curly gray hair sat in the corner and appeared to be chatting with some others. He wore a brown linen shirt, black pants, and black shoes. He sat on the wooden oak chair and leaned back at the stair, which was connected to the upper floor. He had hooded hazel eyes, extra long eyebrows, fair skin, an oval-shaped face.

"Uncle Claude! How are you?" Abium walked ahead and asked with an excited smile on his face.

Of course, the reply came with a puzzled expression.

"Mister? Have we met before?" Claude furrowed his eyebrows and asked. Claude could remember that the voice seems familiar and gave him a confused look.

Ahem!

Abium cleared his throat and went straight to the point.

"Uncle, It"s me, Abium. My appearance changed a little due to some unknown cause."

"Eh? Is it you? But how?" Other warriors who were sat near to him overheard this suddenly turned their gazes at him and gave a perplexed look.

"I am the one who sends that letter to you, look!" Abium took out the new family seal and showed it to him.

Everyone who had known him from childhood started to stare at him with a confused expression.

"I still found it hard to believe your story, but your voice appears the same as that kid"s voice," Claude spoke in the same suspicious tone and looked at him up and down and asked.

"Do you have any proof?"

"I gave all of you to practice those manuals, and we sighed a soul contract."

"Hmm, Correct. S-"

"Oh? Lad! When did you start coloring your hair?" Suddenly, a middle-aged man with a pale face walking down from the stairs, and soon his upturned black eyes widened. He had short gray hair, high nose bridge, thick eyebrows, and a square face. He wore normal blue colored cloths and had a white scarf on his neck.

It was Alfred!

Amber eyes and golden hair like Thea! Alfred became startled inside but didn"t show it on his face.

Before Claude mention to him about Abium"s whereabouts, Alfred had searched for clues about Abium everywhere. But he had no strength to even personally go to the Baxbron woods to search for that child.

"Uncle Alfred! I"m glad that you are safe." Abium and everyone also startled when Alfred instantly recognized him.

"Humph. Of course, I will be alright, kid. Now explain what did you start dyeing your hair and whats with those ears?" Alfred didn"t know what to say and asked with a flow. He still managed to hide his emotions and observed.

"It"s a long story, uncle, but I am an elf," Abium explained everything to others in detail, and he also mentioned how he became a mage and got his own territory.

Alfred listened to Abium"s story and felt amazed and, at the same time, puzzled.

He really didn"t face any shackles?. Alfred frowned deepened.

At first, when Claude mentioned about how Abium saved them from the goblin ambush, he startled. Alfred knew without choosing or training in any path, fighting against those goblins was like courting death.

But how did he did that? his eyes narrowed in doubt and suspicion. Soon, he shook that thought.

It"s not a bad thing anyway. This child"s character almost completely changes.

Now, after Alfred looked at Abium, he noticed the difference; that timid, shy voice had long gone and now was replaced with a matured voice.

Within a few minutes, the servants, soldiers, and their family got the news about Abium arrival and soon surrounded him. They attentively listened to his adventures. Although he didn"t mention anything about forgotten lands and the undead world, he exaggeratedly told about other things. He knew even if he told them about that undead world, forgotten lands, they wouldn"t believe him. After chattering with them for a few minutes, he changed his expression sober and said.

"Uncle Claude, everyone. Get your belongings as soon as possible. We are leaving this Baron Harry"s territory in a few minutes." Instantly Claude and other veteran soldiers stood up and nodded in understanding. Within a few minutes, a total of more than 50 members stood outside that inn. Women and men carried most of their belongings while children and old peoples were supporting them with small luggage.

It"s almost 9 a.m. We need to move faster. Abium looked up at the sky and frowned.

"Everyone, listen carefully. The place we are going is the Frozen mountain range, so make sure to put on woolen clothes." He stopped for a second when noticing Viper"s hesitant look and asked.

"What is it, sir?"

"Kid, take this ring. A northerner guy gave it to me to pa.s.s it to you." Abium frown grew deepened when hearing Viper"s word and asked.

"Is that person enemy or Ally?"

"I think he is also an elf and appears dangerous." Viper said with a serious tone that made Abium"s eyes instantly widened.

Did the royal family already found out something odd about me? Abium squinted his amber eyes sharper and quickly took that ring. It was made of pure silver and was inscribed in a minute runic circle at the center. As he put that ring on his other hand, Viper asked while glancing at the surroundings.

"What are you going to do with that baron? It appears he already locked down the whole town and watching our every movement."

"They are not a problem, sir. We will crush anyone who is going to be in our way." He spoke with a chilling tone and marched forward.

At the same time, he cast seer"s intuition spell and simply thought about the dangers of the upcoming journey. A feeling came of small danger that would occur during the journey came to his mind.

Really a mysterious feeling. I can tell there will be few dangers but not a dangerous one. A wide smile appeared on Abium"s face.

Soon, the large group crossed the commoner"s district and moved out directly towards town square without minding other peoples" gazes.

Within a few minutes, Abium and others arrived in front of that eastern gate and noticed it was already locked down. Baron stood at the top of that stone wall that surrounds the town while multiple soldiers unsheathed their sword and ready to attack the group at any second.

As Harry saw Abium already arrived near to him, he sent out an order without hesitation.

"Fire."

Up above the wall near to Harry, there were a total of 10 soldiers aimed their bows towards the group and pulling their string.

"Take cover!" Abium instantly spoke in a cold tone and, at the same time, threw a red orb towards that wooden gate.

Bang!

A large hole around 1-meter diameter appeared in front of everyone"s sights. The one who was about to pull the bowstrings instantly stopped and fell back due to the shock. Some managed to released that strings, but Claude and other soldiers immediately blocked those wooden arrows.

That b.a.s.t.a.r.d really thought this gate would hinder me? He mocked at that Baron Harry"s stupidity and walked forward without minding other soldiers gazes. The group soon moved outside of that gate through the large hole and gazed at the snowy mountain range.

"Attack them!" Baron stuttered while pointing his finger towards the group, but no one moved an inch.

That mere zero tier spell gave them a scare, and some of them even started to tremble.

Let"s see what those sneaky rats are up to. Abium quickly took out his newly purchased curved short sword and placed it in his waist. In the past, most of the time, he used short swords and felt comfortable with these types of swords. His amber eyes soon shifted towards the east.

This Frozen mountain range located only a few kilometers from the eastern gate. You could see it with naked eyes clearly as the mountain range almost touched the dark clouds. Slight thunder sounds could be heard from time to time, along with a flash of lightning strikes. Those ominous clouds were moving towards their directions, which gave everyone an uneasy feeling.

Behind that mountain range was located Alastall woodlands. That woodland gave refugees to many pirates, bandits, and some monsters. The total area of Alastall territory was almost the same as the normal Count"s territory. After Abium"s group walking for half an hour, soon, they reached the summit of that mountain range. Along the way, most of the areas were farming lands, which made their jobs very easier.

Hm? Something"s wrong! He knitted his eyebrows.

"Everyone, wait here!" Abium raised his hand and walked up in the front. He felt the enemy gazes from the surrounding trees but couldn"t be able to found anybody made him frown. A small spiritual wave came out from his body as he walked past 200 meters away from the group.

BAM!

As soon as he sent a spiritual wave to search for the enemy towards the surrounding trees, the ground under his feet shook. The next moment, he saw the ground was gone; instead, a large pit appeared while he was falling. Below were multiple sharp iron blade tips pointing towards him. Without even waiting for a moment, Abium cast a "blink" spell and teleported from there, then reappeared above the ground.

"NOW!" A loud roaring sound came from afar as he quickly saw a figure stood on the tree a few hundred meters away. Then the next moment, a figure appeared behind him and heavily kicked at his back that causes to propels his body once again into that pit.

Teleport spell? Abium became startled.
