Chapter 225: Prepare To Return
Gideon was stunned by the cold, devilish aura emanating from her.
He had no doubts at all that this person before him was the one he knew.
The one who could create such a stir by just typing one word on the screen.
Su Huiqing lowered her gaze. Her clothing was somewhat dirty. Pulling at her collar, she headed toward the door. Just as she placed her hand on the doork.n.o.b, she suddenly turned to look at Gideon.
Her eyes narrowed as she noted the scalpel that Gideon was fiddling with in his hands. She raised her brow. “Gideon?”
Her profile was cold and flawless as a piece of jade.
“Ah… yes, yes!” Gideon snapped out of his trance.
“Eh, King, how come you are so young…” Gideon smiled, his usually impa.s.sive face taking on a gentle look. “Has Bai Yi ever met you?”
“Bai Yi?” Su Huiqing turned back and opened the emergency room door. She smirked indifferently. “I met him when I first returned to the International a.s.sociation.”
“He must have had a big shock!” Gideon followed Su Huiqing out. He could imagine Bai Yi’s reaction.
He beamed widely.
Su S had become famous as one of the members of the mercenary regiment nine years ago.
At that time, she hadn’t inherited Unknown Island yet.
She was the internationally renowned Queen of Mercenaries, and the top terrorist on Bai Yi’s wanted list. She had disrupted countless operations by Bai Yi, surpa.s.sing even Apollo by far.
Gideon’s heart gave a heavy thud as he thought of that. He glanced at Su Huiqing.
Wait a minute… according to his calculations, she would have been only 10 years old then. How could she have registered with the mercenary regiment?!
Su Huiqing glanced at Gideon’s expression but remained silent. She tucked her hands into her pocket and gazed mildly out the door.
“Qingqing?” Su Ruohua, Qu Yan and the rest saw that Su Huiqing had emerged.
Su Ruohua’s eyes lit up as she hurried over to her side.
Su Huiqing put her arm around Su Ruohua’s shoulders and smiled. “Mother, don’t worry. What could possibly happen to me?”
Su Ruohua scrutinized Su Huiqing all over. She looked as radiant and lovely as ever, her expression and movements were also the same. It looked like there was nothing wrong at all.
If one was forced to point out a difference…
Those eyes appeared even more profound than before.
Her devilish aura was also somewhat more intense now.
She also felt more imposing.
“Good that you are fine.” Su Ruohua heaved a sigh of relief.
“Mmmm, let’s go back first.” Su Huiqing brushed back her hair.
Her voice sounded too casual.
Su Ruohua instinctively glanced up.
But Su Huiqing had lowered her eyelids, her long lashes concealing the emotions surging in the depths of her eyes.
So much has happened today. Su Ruohua decided to personally cook dinner when they returned home. Gideon had shoved his scalpel into his pocket and followed them back.
He was dragged into a card game by Qu Yan and the gang.
Only Gu Li was able to keep up with Gideon, but only barely so.
“I have never heard of anyone who dared to go against Monster University.” Gideon tossed out a card. “Looks like this is no accident. Who did Ms. Su provoke?”
Yu Xiangyang folded his cards and gave a cold smile. “There are two possibilities. The Ye Family and the Dugu Family.”
Sometimes, Yu Xiangyang could be quite smart.
“If it was the Dugu Family, you have Master Dugu on your side, so there’s no need to fear. But if it’s the Ye Family…” Gideon smirked. “You guys have to be careful. The Ye Family is backed by Song San. You know how that guy is.”
Uncle Chen placed the tea on the table. He overheard Gideon’s words and was somewhat worried. “Will Ms. Su be alright?”
Even the usually placid Gu Li was taken aback by Gideon’s words, not to mention Uncle Chen.
Gideon had spoken casually.
He never expected them to have such major reactions.
“Song San is just Song San. Anyway, this won’t be our first time going against him.” In contrast, Qu Yan was rather indifferent. She picked up a card from the table and beamed. “What’s there to be afraid of?”
They had even stolen Song San’s stuff previously in Country H.
Even up till now, he had yet to catch them. What’s there to be afraid of?
“You are right.” Yu Xiangyang smiled lazily. Uncle Chen had also brought over some snacks and he tossed a piece into his mouth. “We might even get to enjoy a good battle.”
Gu Li just picked up his cup of tea and glanced at those two with narrowed eyes.
He didn’t speak but the curve of his lips clearly showed his att.i.tude.
Gideon watched these three overconfident youths.
He couldn’t help smiling sadly.
They were indeed still young. They were so brash and confident that they weren’t even afraid of Song San.
—
While Su Ruohua’s side was full of warmth and geniality, Dugu Heng’s place was a sea of cold silence.
Dugu Yusheng and Apollo had taken Dugu Wu away.
The Dugu Family matriarch just stood there watching the entire process, as if she had lost all energy. She suddenly grabbed Dugu Heng’s sleeve. “Little Heng, you know these people. Go tell them that this has nothing to do with Little Wu. It was me. I was the one who contacted those people. I have no idea why Little Wu appeared there…”
“Say that again?” Dugu Heng stared at the Dugu Family matriarch. His eyes were so piercing that it was like he was trying to see right through her.
“I said that it was all my doing. It has nothing to do with Little Wu. It was me all along…”
Dugu Heng interrupted her before slowly brushing her hand aside. His eyes were chilly. “Why?”
“The Dugu Family and the Yu Family had a marriage contract. If not for Su Huiqing, Little Wu would already be part of the Yu Family…” The Dugu Family matriarch spoke very matter-of-factly.
“Mother, have you ever thought about the fact that Dugu Wu was never ent.i.tled to have all these in the first place? She has occupied the position of the young mistress of the Dugu Family for over 20 years. The Dugu Family has given her so much, is that not enough?”
“As for Yu Shijin, the marriage contract was meant for him and Qingqing all along. But the two of you wanted to kill an innocent girl over such frivolous matters. When did your heart become so black?” Dugu Heng couldn’t stand the way that the Dugu Family matriarch talked about Su Huiqing.
Especially after knowing about everything.
Inside the International a.s.sociation, even the Dugu Family matriarch treated Su Ruohua and her daughter with such scorn.
It was not hard to imagine what kind of treatment they suffered in Green City.
The thought of it was enough to make his heart ache.
“But she’s not dead!” The Dugu Family matriarch was very agitated. “The hospital director said Su Huiqing has been discharged. But what about Little Wu? She is injured, and yet she was arrested. Why are you not concerned for her at all?!”
“I will tell you this now. I will inform Ruohua and Qingqing truthfully about this entire matter. If they don’t forgive you, you will be kicked out of the Dugu Family! I will send you out of the International a.s.sociation!” Dugu Heng stared coldly at the Dugu Family matriarch.
He then left without even turning his head, shutting the door behind him.
The Dugu Family matriarch remained standing there, completely thunderstruck.
Sent out of the International a.s.sociation… what did this mean?
The Dugu Family matriarch widened her eyes in panic. She didn’t wish to endure that kind of dest.i.tution again. She sat down on the bed, her mind in a daze.
Until dinnertime when someone opened the door.
“Old Madam Dugu, our master has asked for you.” It was not a servant who opened the door, but a stranger dressed in black. “If you wish Dugu Wu to survive and you wish to stay on at the Dugu Family, please follow me.”
The Dugu Family matriarch remained still for a couple of moments. In the end, she gritted her teeth and followed him.
She eventually arrived at Song San’s fighter jet and met the person himself.
The Dugu Family matriarch’s face froze. “Master… Master San?”
Song San turned. His face was as handsome and peaceful as always. He smiled at the Dugu Family matriarch. “Old Madam Dugu, you just need to do one thing if you wish to save Dugu Wu.”
“What?” The Dugu Family matriarch immediately asked.
Song San maintained his serene smile. “Report Apollo.”
—
Apollo had too many firearms and secret weapons in his possession.
After so many years, countless powers had tried to swallow Apollo, but to no avail.
Song San had always wished to lay claim over Apollo’s weapons h.o.a.rd. But he never got the opportunity or excuse to strike. Now that Apollo was operating in the International a.s.sociation, it was a good chance for him to attack.
Especially since Apollo had even mobilized his own fighter jets here.
This was a threat to the International a.s.sociation.
No one dared to openly go against Apollo. But Song San had the power to.
More accurately, the International a.s.sociation still had the power to go against Apollo. Unknown Island, the International Battlefield and Song San all had the capability.
It was just that most people would never dare to openly go against Apollo.
This time was different.
Song San gazed out the window, his eyes cold as the winter frost.
He had to make sure that in the end, all the power in the International a.s.sociation would fall in his hands.
It was already three hours later when Chi Yue knew of this.
Song San had sealed off Apollo’s temporary hideout. All wireless connections to that place were cut off.
Even Dugu Yusheng had no solution.
But in this world, there really wasn’t anything much that could keep Chi Yue out.
Chi Yue had already traced Su Huiqing’s previous phone call, but before he could listen to the recording, he received news of Apollo’s hideout being sealed.
He lowered his eyes.
“Mr. Chi Yue, should we contact Bai Yi?” Someone outside knocked on the door and asked respectfully.
Chi Yue opened his drawer and took out his personal laptop. He answered in a low voice, “No need.”
He opened his laptop and started typing out a string of numbers on the keyboard.
A cold smile danced upon the corners of his lips.
Just as well. He had yet to avenge the previous incident at Unknown Island. He would get his revenge all at once.
In this world, there wasn’t a single person who could keep Chi Yue out if he really wished to hack into a place.
Very soon, a website with surveillance footage appeared on his laptop screen.
It was retrieved from a satellite.
Song San, Apollo and their men were facing off each other.
The footage had no audio.
But Chi Yue closely monitored the 10 black-clad men standing behind Song San. He adjusted his spectacles as his eyes darkened.
He had even summoned those 10 men.
If the two sides really clashed, it would be a major disaster to the entire International a.s.sociation, no matter who won or lost.
No one knew what Apollo’s trump card was. Just like no one knew the limits of just how powerful those 10 men behind Song San were.
His fingers were still on the keyboard.
But his face was no longer relaxed.
He stared at the screen for a moment longer before glancing at the cell phone beside.
After a second’s hesitation, he picked up the cell phone and dialled a familiar number.
On the other end, Su Huiqing had just finished bathing.
She rubbed her hair dry as she picked up the phone. “What?”
Her voice was raspy, probably because she had just bathed.
Her lowered lashes concealed those dark eyes of her.
“Song San has made a move. He is going straight at Apollo.” Chi Yue rested his arm against the back of his chair. His voice was grave. “He has started to gather the powers within the International a.s.sociation.”
Su Huiqing was momentarily taken aback.
She then chuckled.
Her voice was very calm. “Chi Yue, bring my stuff over. You should know where I live.”
