Chapter 232: Undercurrents Part 2
"Why are you here?" Fox High G.o.d Methiesee looked at Yuthia, who had just walked in with a stern expression.
"Guh..." Yuthia hated that look. It was a look that asked, "what did you do now that I need to clean up after you" kind of look. "It"s like this..."
Yuthia went on to explain everything that was happening in the mortal realm. Fox High G.o.d Methiesee leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes with his hands behind his head. After thinking for a few minutes, he finally asked: "You can"t find the little dragon girl at all?"
"No, Sei is still trying to search using our blessings, but it is like she dropped out of this universe altogether," Yuthia answered.
"She may have been brought to another realm… If this is the case, we won"t be able to track her. You have to remember what they taught you at the G.o.ddess academy. There are many more realms besides our realm and the mortal realm. If it is a higher realm that has intervened in some way, we will have to wait for her return. As long as you do not have your blessing returned to you, you will know she is still alive. At any rate… Things may be getting out of hand… Alright, Yuthia, you and Sei are now tasked with a mission. If war does break out, you are to a.s.sist your future aunt in any way possible. Just like you did with the little dragon girl. But your powers can only be used if she is faced with a foe she can not beat. Like if that old bald pope shows up. That"s final. Just keep a good eye on the situation." Fox High G.o.d Methiesee order and before sitting back up and going right back to work.
"Understood. I will take my leave." Yuthia bowed and walked out of Fox High G.o.d Methiesee"s office and let out a huge sigh. "Why does he have to look at me like that! Anyway, at least we got permission to help if needed." Feeling a bit better about the situation, Yuthia walked forward a little bit before stopping again. "I will have to abolish that church that is using my name… People might think I am the one who ordered baldy to do all those things."
Back inside Yuthia"s quarters, Sei was still working on trying to track down Kana but stopped when she saw something odd going on with the pope. "Why did I lose him?" Sei frowned and rewound the image back to where she last saw him.
"Sei, something wrong?" Yuthia asked as she walked into the room.
"Look here. The pope enters this secret room, and after that, we can no longer follow him. It"s blocked by something..." Sei pointed at the water screen.
"Strange… It seems we need to go investigate this… We will check it out when the war starts. Sei, you will protect my future aunt during that time and only a.s.sist when she needs it. I will sneak into the church and figure out what is going on there." Yuthia felt a little uneasy about things now. She just hoped nothing bad would happen anytime soon.
"Sounds like a plan. As for Kana, no matter what I try, I can not find her." Sei"s face showed how annoyed she was about this.
"Uncle said that it might have something to do with the higher realms. So leave it for now. If our blessings are not returned, then she should be safe. Plus, her Handsome Husband has been doing fine, so their connection has not been broken either." Yuthia explained.
"Yuthia..." Sei"s expression turned black.
"Hmm?" Yuthia was confused at Sei"s change of att.i.tude.
"I"m telling Kana." Sei snorted before turning away from Yuthia and ignoring her as she went back to observing the water screens.
"What, why!? All I did was peek. Don"t tell Kana she will hit me again!"
"Ahchoo!" Kana rubbed her nose and looked around.
"Did you catch a cold?" Pel asked.
"No, I think some idiot G.o.ddess did something she was not supposed to..." Kana replied jokingly.
"Haha, G.o.ddess. Why would you say a G.o.ddess did something they are not supposed to?" Pel found Kana"s answer amusing.
Kana smiled and said: "I was just joking. But no, I did not catch a cold. Just a random sneeze." Although Kana said this, she still felt like when she returned, she would need to punch a G.o.ddess or two.
Kana and her group reached the base camp for the front lines of the battlefield by nightfall. "Alright, hurry up and get out. You four still need to set up tents. Follow me. I will appoint you a plot of land."
Captain Fos ordered as she jumped out of the wagon they were riding in. Kana followed suit and finally got to see the place she will be spending a lot of time at for the time being. Stretched out in front of her was a barren blood stained land with tents of all sizes setup. The smell of blood was heavy in the air. In the far distances, the sky lit up over and over as spells were being fired off.
"It truly is a gloomy place." Kana mumbled.
"I"d say. I thought my town felt gloomy but the air of death hangs heavy here." Pel commented.
"Well we can only hope that we can survive to see the next day while we are here. So it is no wonder it is gloomy." Mina added in her own thoughts as well.
"I, I will do what I can to keep you all alive!" Yori said. She was doing her best to lighten the mood a bit.
"We will be counting on you then." Kana said with a smile as she reached out and rubbed Yori"s head. "But remember no matter what our goal is to survive and gain prestige. Anyway let"s get our tents up and then find out our schedules. We do not have much time. "
