Chapter 633: Holy Maiden
"To think after all these years, someone finally appeared here in this place." A female voice echoed throughout the room. Liu Na had cold sweat forming on her back as she gripped her sword. She knew that only Kana and herself had entered this mystic realm, so to hear a voice that was not Kana"s instantly put her on guard. Her eyes scanned the area until they stopped on a white figure that appeared out of nowhere.
"Relax, little one. I will not harm you. I have actually been waiting for someone as yourself to make it here… But surprisingly, your cultivation is very low…" The white figure turned out to be a beautiful woman in her twenties. She looked at Liu Na with great interest. "Hmmm… To make it this deep into the dreaded grounds at your cultivation is very admirable. Whether it was luck or not, it was your fate to come here."
"Who-Who are you!?" Liu Na finally asked with great difficulty. Her legs were shaking in fear as she could feel that the ghostly woman in front of her was very strong.
"I am the second empress of the Dustwind Kingdom. They called me the Holy Maiden of Light when I was alive, and you, my dear, will be the next holy maiden. While your cultivation is low, I can see that your const.i.tution is very good, which is enough to accept my inheritance. Normally, I would make you undergo many trials and tribulations. But because you are the first to come here, and I can sense that you have a kind soul, I will use the last of the energy left in this soul fragment to instill you with all my knowledge. You will gain more than just skills but also life experiences. But you must promise to never use this power against those who are innocent." The holy maiden responded with a warm, kind smile.
Liu Na froze. She had, of course, heard stories about the holy maiden. She was once one of the peak figures on the north land continent. She was a wise and kind ruler but also one who was not afraid to wield her power. She had wiped out many demonic sects and fended off many countries that tried to attack her lands. It was said that she had disappeared after giving up her throne. But it seemed… "How? How did you die? I heard you were unbeatable!"
The holy maiden looked at Liu Na, whose eyes looked back at her in confusion, and smiled before shaking her head. "My dear, with strength comes enemies. People will be jealous and want to covet your power. I was also the ruler of this kingdom. I thwarted so many plots against my life, but in the end, those closest to me betrayed me. Before I pa.s.sed, I made this place secretly in hopes that a future generation would come and inherit my will. And here you are now. After so many long, long years, my soul can finally rest. Young lady, what is your name?"
Liu Na had tears in her eyes. She wondered just who would plot against such a righteous person. She lowered her head and clenched her fist before dropping to her knees and prostrating herself in front of the holy maiden. "My name is Liu Na. I greet Master."
"Haha! So formal. But hearing you call me master does make me smile. You are young but understand what it means to show respect. I am glad it was you who ventured out to this place. Come sit upon my throne, and I will start the inheritance process. Once it is done, I will then guide you until my soul fragment energy runs out."The holy maiden knelt down and helped Liu Na up. She could feel that this young girl was perfect to be her final and only disciple.

Kana and the black serpent moved to a clearing not too far away. Kana took a deep breath and got into a fighting stance. "This is a real fight, so come at me as if you are going to kill me. Ignore Ako"s warning. Right now, I need a battle that will allow me to breakthrough. So Ako, do not interfere unless I am almost dead."
The black serpent looked over at Ako, who nodded her head. Ako did not wish to see Kana get hurt, but she had no other choice as her master had already given her the command not to interfere. As for the black serpent, it could only hope that it could make it out of this alive. "If that is what you wish, then I will not hold back!"
With its words, the black serpent shot forward. Kana quickly went on guard and was shocked at the black serpent"s speed. Her eyes lit up, knowing this battle was just what she was looking for.
She had no choice but to dodge to the right, but before she could even gain her footing, a black tail smashed into her sending her flying into a tree. Her body smashed through the tree and tumbled across the ground. Ako"s face turned livid. She turned with a fierce expression and was about to smack the stupid snake dead for hurting her master. Her spiritual pressure shot out, and was about to press down on the black snake but froze when she heard Kana yell out. "Ako, I said not to interfere!"
Ako"s bottom lip pouted as she fiercely glared at the black serpent and sat down, retracting her spiritual pressure. The black snake knew that if it had hair that it would be sticking straight up at this time. It knew it just came very close to death. But it was also surprised to see Kana suddenly get up from the ground after being hit so hard, seemingly unscathed. "Haha… That actually hurt… Thank G.o.d I am a dragon, or else I might have died…"
It was true that if kana was not a dragon, she truly would have died just then. Being hit by such a strong force at her cultivation would have crushed every bone in her body, making her unable to cultivate or move ever again if she did not instantly die. Kana shook off the dust on her body and readied her sword. With a bright smile on her face she said: "Now then, let"s continue!"
