Chapter 800: Kiliffia’s Training Part 2
After her bath, Kiliffia made sure to fluff her fluff with a bone comb she made. Only when she was sure it was perfect did she finally get some sleep. She had been in this place for a while now and had only been training herself without much discovery. She wanted to be sure she had a decent home base to go home to after each outing, mainly because her outings would sometimes last for days or, like her last outing, even weeks.
She did miss her kids and grandkids. She missed her husband as well. But she had decided long ago she would work hard to return to Kana"s side and repay her for the kindness that she had shown her. She did plan in the future to return home and visit her family, but until she accomplished her goal, she would continue to work hard to see things through.
One thing that Kiliffia feared was that her goal to finally reach the stage where she could stand at Kana"s side would take her hundreds or even thousands of years. But when the thought of how Kana was ripped from her only family that day without even getting to say goodbye to them, she firmed her resolve. Luckily her husband was behind her on her decision. Although if he ever cheated on her while she was gone, she would destroy him.
It was early the next day that Kiliffia woke up and stretched her arms. She combed her hair and tail before starting a fire. She then took the leg she brought back the other day, skinned it, and began cutting off huge chunks of meat. With some wooden skewers, she stabbed them through the meat before propping them up next to the fire to slowly roast them.
As she watched the fire crackle and the smell of meat filled the air, Kiliffia smiled as she thought back to the times when she was with Kana. "I wonder if Kana still loves meat as much as she did when I first met her…."
Just thinking about those times brought a smile to Kiliffia"s lips. This new life of training was not easy. She was alone with no other soul around besides the monster that roamed this world. From what the old man said, this world was uninhabited by anyone at this time. But the monsters here were very powerful. The area she was dropped in was the area with the weakest monster, and even then, she still had a tough time her first month here fighting them.
But since she was here, she was putting her all into the battles ahead. Her level had also risen quite a bit, breaking her from the ranks of a lower G.o.d to becoming a named G.o.d. Her t.i.tle was a bit embarra.s.sing, though…. "Why did the system decide to name me the G.o.ddess of Fluff!?" Just thinking about it made Kiliffia want to cry. Ever since her t.i.tle, she had become obsessed with keeping her fluff perfect.
After eating, Kiliffia left her hideaway and began her journey down the mountain to begin her training once more. She ran through the snowy rocks until the ground dried up and trees entered her line of sight. It was only at this point that she would need to be careful. It was here that the monsters started roaming around.
She only got about a mile into the forest before meeting her first monsters. She called this a spider walker. While it looked nothing like a spider, it had six legs and a strange smooth black body with a human shaped head. But on its face were three large red eyes. Its jaw unhinged and dropped down, revealing large razor sharp teeth. It was quick and very agile, and the way it could compress its body to slip through cracks made them hard to get away from.
But she had gotten used to fighting these kinds of monsters, so she made quick work of it. Once she was sure it was dead, she continued forward until she came upon the next monster. Fight after fight, battle after battle, Kiliffia cut a b.l.o.o.d.y path through the forest until she finally came to the large field she had fought for almost three weeks. But she frowned when she saw only blood stains but not a single body. "There were thousands of bodies here. How did they all disappear?"
Kiliffia did not understand as she looked around. To be on the safe side, she began walking the perimeter of the battlefield, keeping her eye on the open field, trying not to miss a single thing that might seem out of the ordinary.
She came across a monster by a large boulder which she quickly dispatched. She was about to talk away when an idea came to mind. She picked up the dead monster and, with all her strength tossed it out over the open field. What she saw next made all her fluff stand up on end. The open field seemed to have risen as large spikes appeared on the oyster edge not too far from where she was standing, and before she knew what was going on, the whole area clamped together, and two large eyes stared right at her.
Kiliffia"s eyes went wide in fright as she looked at the strange monster that slowly began to recede back into the ground. Her heart was beating so fast that she thought it was going to jump out of her chest. She had been fighting in this field for three weeks. If that monster had done what it did just now, she would have easily been swallowed alive! "I will really need to be careful from this point on."
With that, Kiliffia walked the outer edge of the open field and made her way towards the next tree line on the other side. She still had to make some progress today and see if she could find the hidden secret the old man talked about. This was her current immediate goal.
