Chapter 1126 The b.l.o.o.d.y Plane
A b.l.o.o.d.y scent entered the two girls " noses. The sounds of painful cries could be heard all around. A landscape that was dyed in red lay before them. From where Kana was high in the sky, she could see many cities and towns as well as places run down or abandoned. This seemed more like h.e.l.l than h.e.l.l itself.
"Kana…. Can we go back? I keep getting this coldness in my limbs just being here." Francessca was scared out of her wits. She had never heard of such a place before, nor had she ever been to a place with such a thick scent of blood and murderous intent.
"You will be fine." Kana patted Francessca"s hand, creating another barrier around her to protect her from any intents. This caused a warm flow to fill Francessca"s body.
Francessca was glad she was here with Kana and not on her own. If she had ever come here by herself, she probably would have already died without knowing how she had died. This place was like a living nightmare. She knew when she got back home, she would be having nightmares about this place for years to come.
"Let"s go down. Even if we fly up, we can not leave this place. There is a strong barrier that restricts anyone from escaping, but, I can teleport us out of here or rip open the barrier. But there is no adventure without a bit of danger, so let"s see what this place truly is." Kana grabbed Francessca"s hand and flew to a mountain village not far off.
Although dyed in red, the landscape looked no different from any planet she had been on. When she arrived at the mountain village, there was even red snow covering the ground. The two landed in a forest nearby.
It did not take long before they were attacked by a large creature that was covered in b.l.o.o.d.y wounds. Kana waved her hand and made it disappear into nothingness. She was not going to play around while she was here. The evil energy she felt in the air was not something she was going to take lightly.
Francessca just stared blankly at the spot the monsters were just in. She realized if she had not turned over a new leaf, she might have ended up just like that monster if she had angered Kana too much. No chance of a grave, having your existence completely wiped out as if it was never there in the first place.
"Fran, stay close." Kana did not want Francessca to separate from her.
"Fran!?" Francessca looked at Kana with a stunned expression. She never had a nickname before! She suddenly felt very happy.
"Mmm… I figured it was easier to say than your full name." Kana replied. "Remember, stay close. The people of this world might act kind but actually want to kill you, so do not believe anything anyone says."
"Okay…" Francessca replied with a nod. She followed tightly behind Kana as they made their way through the woods. Anything that came near them disappeared in an instant with a wave of Kana"s hand.
When they exited the forest, they ran into an old man with a straw basket on his back. He turned and looked at them with a flash of light in his eyes. "Young ladies, what brings you to our humble village?"
"You can stop putting on an act, old man. I can sense the blood on you from a million miles away." Kana snorted, causing the old man"s smiling expression to turn sour.
"Then why are you here?" The old man"s tone changed as he seemed to ready himself for a fight.
"I am just here to take a look. After all, a place with such an evil aura does not exist where I come from." Kana replied. "Why do you people cultivate such evil energy?"
"What"s it to you? The G.o.ds abandoned this place long ago. If not for the fact that we are able to reproduce in great numbers quickly, everyone on this plane would have been long dead except those with the most power." The old man seemed to be angered by Kana"s question. He stared daggers at her as he asked: "Tell me why did the G.o.ds send our ancestors to this place filled with evil energy? Why did they teach them that strength was all that mattered? Why did they give them the ability to take this evil energy in? Because of this, we are all forced to cultivate this evil energy just to live. We do not want to die. So we cultivate. If we gain enough strength, our families can rise higher on the social ladder and move from the side villages to the towns. The more strength one has in this world, the more likely one will be able to survive. This is just how our world works."
"I see…." Kana could not dispute the old man"s words. After all, she lived on a cultivation world for so long. "Even if a law was pa.s.sed down for everyone to stop cultivating this energy, there will always be bad seeds who do. Even the monsters here would end up killing everyone here. It"s an endless cycle. Even if it makes your mind go insane, you still end up doing it anyway."
"You seem to understand clearly. Little lady, tell me, is it like this outside this place?" The old man was not stupid. The two ladies here did not have the scent of blood on them. He knew they did not come from this realm.
"Some worlds are while some are not. It depends on where you are. But even my plane is still dominated by the phrase "Might makes right." Life will never be easy no matter which world you live on. You can call the fact that rules exist a means of making a civilized world, but rules are always broken by those at the top. People will kill and murder no matter where you go unless all are of a single mind. Only worlds with a hive mentality would be able to be considered a world that is in harmony. But then you lose all individuality that makes you…. You."
