Chapter 198: Trial Of Survival/Dronic Dungeon Part Five
When Kana and Mary got to the bottom of the stairs, they were met with a large door. Without hesitating, the two pushed the door open to reveal a white sandy beach and a vast ocean in front of them. "This… This… This is f.u.c.king amazing!" Kana yelled out as her eyes went wide. She had always dreamed about going to the ocean but never had a chance to. Now seeing such a beautiful scene in front of her, Kana couldn"t help but curse and yell at the top of her lungs.
Kana ran out on the beach and twirled around a few times before kicking off her boots and running into the water. She felt the cool salty water splash against her ankles and let out a joyful giggle as she twirled around some more. As for Mary, she was much more cautious since she was wary of any monsters attacking them. While Kana had completely forgotten she was in a dungeon, Mary did not.
Aoi sat on Mary"s head, taking in all the sites. To her, everything she was seeing now was all new and amazing. But her amazement only lasted a few seconds when her attention was taken by something off in the jungle behind them. "Kana!"
Kana, who was splas.h.i.+ng water here and there, stopped her actions when she heard Aoi yell. She quickly returned to the beach and put her boots back on. "What is it?"
"There is something in the forest looking at us. It is definitely an enemy since I can feel a hint of killing intent from it." Aoi replied. As an elemental, she was far more sensitive to the changes in the area around her.
"Then we need to be more careful… Luckily the two of you were aware of what was going on around us. I kinda got lost in my own little world." Kana admitted as she blushed slightly. But one can"t fault her for her reaction when seeing the ocean for the first time. But now that she knew something was wrong, Kana automatically went into combat mode and already had her sword in her hand, ready to fight if needed. Mary was next to her with her bow at the ready as well. She even had three arrows notched at the same time for rapid fire.
"You two stay behind me. I will take the lead." Kana said as she walked towards the tree line in front of them. The closer she got, the more she felt as if there were multiple sets of eyes on her. As she was about to step into the tree line, Kana"s ear twitched, and she quickly jumped back. As she did, ten arrows landed in the spot she was standing before. "Quickly find cover!"
Kana, Mary, and Aoi, who was still perched on Mary"s head, all jumped behind a large boulder that was protruding out of the sandy beach near where they had first entered this level. It was only then that Kana realized that the door they walked through to get here was only a one way trip. Kana couldn"t help but think: "This dungeon sure is strange..."
"Kana to our left!" Mary yelled out. Kana looked in the direction Mary said and saw a large creature with huge muscles, pink skin, and a big pig head. Kana"s mouth began to salivate. "A pig! Mary, we will eat good tonight!"
Kana completely ignored the fact that there was armor and a weapon on this pigman"s body. All she was thinking about was the tasty meat she was going to have after she roasted it just right. As for the pigman, when he looked at the two girls, his eyes glowed with l.u.s.t. This look did not go unnoticed as Kana"s expression went from wanting to eat the pigman to that of disgust. "Mary, whatever you do. Do not get captured by these monsters."
"Mmm… I have a feeling I would not end up well if I did get captured." Mary instantly understood what Kana meant. Kana was saying this due to a book she read in her past that talked about pig men known as orcs that would mate with any female they could get their dirty mitts on. This was especially true for a race called elves, who seemed to be orcs main targets for breeding.
"Aoi, point out the archers that just fired at us to Mary. Mary, your job is to take them out or at least keep them busy. I will handle the big boy over here. I want to test this new sword out." Kana gave her orders, and everyone went right to work. Aoi pointed to the locations of each archer, and Mary began firing out arrows giving Kana the cover fire she needed to fight the pigman.
Kana was quick on her feet as usual as she ran over to the pigman with her sword in her hand. The pigman sneered as it swept its large club at Kana without any hesitation. Kana jumped up and did a flip dodging the attack. But what she did not expect was how quickly the pigman reacted as it quickly changed the direction of its attack, chasing after Kana while she was in mid air. Using her sword, Kana had no choice but to block the attack. She wanted to get some practice in with her sword, so Kana was not using any magic. Although if she did, she could only use her water element attacks. She would not dare use fire in case she accidentally ruined her fat meal.
But this orc was surprisingly much more flexible and faster than it looked. It swung the big club in its hand as if it weighed next to nothing, changing its attack directory while at the same time defending against Kana"s counters. But for some reason, with its other hand, it kept trying to grab at Kana"s chest with a strange look on its face. It was the first time in Kana"s new life that she had to deal with a perverted monster who wanted to cop a feel in the middle of a fight.
