Ira"s heart was pounding fast. "How could I persuade her?" She bowed her head and sipped her drink. Her tense face, eyebrows wrinkled, fortunately, did not fell in the eyes of Reeya.Thinking of something, she raised her head and said with a smile, "Reeya, How about taking a leave for a week? Let"s go for a trip?" Ira urged her. "Come on.." She tried her best to sound lively, but a tinge of anxiousness leaked.
Reeya looked helpless, "I can"t take a long leave. I can meet you at any time. My Boss is cool. But as I said I have to be reachable all the time. See my pager it rings any b.l.o.o.d.y time." She wanted a vacation too.
The thought of Reeya dying in the next few days was distressing her. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath forcing herself to calm down.
"What if you die saving someone?" She finally asked the question which dreaded her.
"Then it"s fate." Reeya declared with a smile.
How can such a person exist? Doesn"t she care about her own life?
Her fingers clasped the armrest, she frowned at Reeya"s reply and turned around to avoid her sight. Her eyes fell on the reflection in the gla.s.s window.
She saw her brilliant smile. It was so pure, without any maliciousness.
Reeya looked impressive to her. This smile lingered in her consciousness for a long while.
Reeya was stubborn by nature, she does not listen to persuasion.
Facts she knew about it were 1. the incident took a few days after valentine"s day. 2. during the day 3. she knew the exact site of the accident.
If this is the case, then she could only try to prevent Reeya from reaching the site of the collapse.
"I can do it." she comforted herself.
"Ira, What is Vivan like?" Reeya asked breaking awkward atmosphere between them.
"Vivan. He is nice." In fact, Ira would have sung endless praises of Vivan. But she remembered that this girl just went through heartbreak. It doesn"t sound good.
"Only nice.." Reeya teased Ira.
"He is a sweetheart. I feel anyone who knows him for a while would fall in love with him eventually," This sentence was contradictory. Even after spending five years with him in last life she didn"t love him. In fact, she never gave herself a chance to fall in love with him.
"Oh! Someone likes her hubby so much!"
"He is good husband material," Ira said proudly, she herself didn"t know when a deep blush appeared on her face. It amazed Reeya that a woman like Ira would feel so shy.
Vivan would forgive and forget all her mistakes. Was he blind to them? Of course not. He definitely had an idea about all her wrongs. But he did not pursue the matter or make her feel guilty.
He made it so easy to love him. Love him not as mere compensation for the life she owed him. Love him without any feeling of guilt.
"I am so lucky to marry him. At times I feel I don"t deserve him." She poured out all her heartfelt emotions.
