Startled by Marcus" words, James cannot help but clenched his hand into frustration. Like always, Marcus will always side himself to Arion. In his mind, Marcus will never side with him whether he is right or wrong.
"But, father-"
"No buts, James." Marcus coldly said cutting off James. "There are things that are better to be kept in secret. That may be the case, but there is no need for you to worry because you will know everything when the time is right."
Once again, James proved to Marcus that he is not ready to face the truth about what does the Coleman family does behind the shadows. As always, whenever James speaks like that, he is able to make Marcus feel like he only wanted to save himself.
In the Coleman family, the number one thing that has always been taught to its next-generation is that family is the number one thing that one should protect. And in the organization, every member is like family. Looking out for each is the rule over there, and James just does not have that flare.
James shuts his mouth, he couldn"t say anything back. He has failed in making Arion look like a bad guy. His father"s words just made him look like the bad guy instead. He has been around all the time ever since Arion left, but now that Arion is back, it seems like his father no longer sees him.
In James"s opinion, Marcus should be angry at Arion for leaving the family for so long, and that Marcus should take everything that belongs to Arion and give it to him. After all, it does belongs to him at the very beginning of the chapter.
"About the family heirloom," Marcus started. "We must use everything that we have to get it back. That thing has been in our family for generations and I cannot accept the fact that during my time of me living in this d.a.m.n earth, the family heirloom has gone missing and possibly will never return."
Truthfully, Marcus has no other way of explaining it. That jewel is just an expensive jewel. It can be replaced, however, the thing that inside the jewel is the real family heirloom. That thing is the one thing that Marcus wants back. It"s only him and Arion who know what is the thing inside the jewel, and Marcus is sure that his son understands why he wants it back so badly.
"Of course, we must, father!" James said. To James, that missing jewel is not just a jewel, it"s his key to take over the Coleman family business, to have the Coleman family in his palms, and to make his brother not to ever look down on him ever again.
For now, he will be willing to cooperate in whatever is necessary until they found the jewel. And once the jewel is found, he will grab it and show it those greedy pigs, then will have no other choice but to accept that he is the new Master of the Coleman family.
After hours of talking, James finally decided to head back, and once he reached his car, he immediately took out his phone and dialed someone"s number. After a few rings, that someone, finally answered. "What do you want?" Said the person over the phone.
"You better not talk to me like that, young man," James said in an irritated tone. He always wonders why this person over the phone never respected him the normal way. Whenever they talk to each other, there is always hatred of his tone. No matter what James gives to him, it seems like it is never enough to please this young man.
"I will speak to you the way that I want. So what do you want?" The person over the phone never understands why James wants him to speak to him in a respected way. To him, James doesn"t deserve his respect, what James deserve is a medicine of his own. He wants James to suffer like how his mother suffers, but much worse than it.
"I want you to get ready because starting tomorrow, you are going to work under me. There has been a change in the plan." While they are going to search for the family heirloom, James is planning to use the person over the phone to have those greedy pigs get on his side if they are not able to find the jewel.
Without replying back to James the young man over the phone ended the call immediately.
James looks at his phone and shook his head in discontent. Even though he doesn"t like that way he is treating him, James is still keeping him around because that young man is his only pride and joy. His daughter, Sharron? James can never expect anything from her because she is not doing what he wants her to do and it is just too disappointing.
"Father, I know that you want me and big brother to get along like before, however, I don"t that will ever happen," Arion said to Marcus as he stands beside the big window, watching James drive his car away from the mansion.
Marcus stopped doing what was he doing and stared at Arion"s direction with a confused expression on plastered on her face. "What do you mean by that, Arion? Is there something going on between you and your brother?"
"Father, just like you said earlier, there is the right time to you about it. For now, it"s just going to be between my and big brother." Sometimes, Arion questions himself whether his father actually knows that is really going between him and James or is he just turning into a blind eye about t.
Whatever may be the case, Arion is not going to tell Marcus about what he really feels about James. His father is going to get angry at him, and most importantly, Marcus will never believe until he gets clues about James"s dirty work.
After saying that Arion decided to leave the place before Marcus could even find the right words to say back to him. Arion doesn"t have the right mood to argue with his father right now, so he would rather go and see where his beloved, and precious children are.
As he stands in front of his son"s room, Arion, overheard the conversation his twin is having. A shocked expression is plastered in his face and at the same time, he is impressed by what he is hearing.
"Sneaky little brats. Let"s what you guys can do without any help from us a.d.u.l.ts." Arion mumbled.
