"Mary, it"s not your fault. You did what was necessary that day. Please don"t blame yourself. If you had not given them what they want, do you really think I would be still talking to you right now?" Leonardo is indebted to everything that Mary has done to him especially for the part that she had given such information to those people for the sake of his life and the others.
Frustrated, Mary puts a hand to her forehead. She"s already having a headache from what is about to come if they cannot place a good plan against the Ricci family. "No matter what you say, I still gave them that formula. I, I should have not given them the exact one."
She deeply regretted writing the exact words in that piece of paper. She should have made up some words, and none of this would be happening to them right now.
"If you had not given them the right one, do you really think that they would leave us at peace?" Mary"s parents are a smart one, and after one try of experimenting and it failed, they would notice right away that Mary had given them an incomplete formula.
"If they are so smart, then why can"t they find the answer they are looking for by themselves?" Leonardo inwardly asked himself.
"No. They won"t leave us alone, and they will definitely kill the people who I care for one by one." Now that she is thinking about, if she did gave her parents an incomplete formula and they have discovered it, then the love ones she has today will all be gone by now.
"See? It"s not your fault. It"s theirs. They broke the promise they made to you back then." Before giving the formula to them, Mary made her parents promised that they never ever try to bother any of her loved ones. But it seems like they have changed their mind, and now, they want to use the children for their own good.
A thought suddenly came into Mary"s mind, when she heard what Leonardo had just said. "You are right, they broke their promise which very unusual for them."
"Unusual? I don"t think that is the case with them." Truthfully said, Leonardo has never seen Mary"s parents like the type of person who would keep their promise. He is just surprised that it took them years to break their promise to Mary, he originally thought that they would attack again after a month.
"Look, they are the bad guys no matter what, but they do like to keep their words no matter what the situation is. They are very prideful, and their promises are one of their dignity as a Ricci member." If there is one thing that Mary likes about that family, she will say that the word promise is a big deal to the Ricci family.
The only person she could think of who doesn"t have the same flare as the rest of the Riccis is the person she hates to recognize as her brother. Although the Ricci family are all crazy people, to begin with, that person is way crazier than anybody in the family.
He is way more ambitious and very manipulative. He is the reason why Mary was chosen to be experimented with by their own parents. He is also the reason why Mary lost her rights to take over the Ricci family.
That person have always hated her and she has no idea what she had done to him.
"Are you saying that someone is controlling your parents now?" Leonardo asked. If Mary is going to say it like that, then his mind will conclude that there is a certain person who is working behind the scenes
"First of all, don"t call them my parents because they have never been one towards me. Secondly, yes, and I know who that someone is."
[A new day arrived]
"I"m only gone for one night, and all of that happened?"
Marcus just arrived this afternoon, and the first thing she hears from Nanny Tess is the drama that happened on the night he wasn"t present. The news is only giving him a headache, he is having a hard time believing that his son and his daughter-in-law actually made a scene in front of the twins.
Without asking who is the one affected the most by what last night, Marcus already knows who it is. The kindest one in their family, Anna. She is probably the one who is hurting the most.
"Yes." Tess plainly replied.
"Sometimes, it is really a wonder who really is the child and the between them four." After the drama with Juan and his son"s objection to Mary"s authority to their family business, Marcus is now trying to avoid getting involved in so much drama. But it seems like no matter what he does, the drama of his family will always get him to involve.
"Elder master, do you agree that Arion should stay in the mansion once again?" Tess asked. She wants to know if Marcus hates the idea of his son going back to the Coleman mansion. After all, she heard from Anna that Marcus is quite angry at the sudden appearance of his son that day.
"Tess, no matter what, Arion is still my son and it"s only natural that I want him to come back home. The Coleman family needs to be complete, for us to live happily once again." Marcus replied in a gentle manner. "Where is that son of mine?" He asked. After knowing that Aaron and Mary finally agreed to let Arion stay in the mansion again, Marcus wonders where is his son now. How come he did not see him around the mansion.
"Last night, he told me that he is going to gather his stuff and finish his tasks before moving back here," Tess said. Knowing the Coleman family for so long, Tess understands what Arion meant by saying that he needs to finish his tasks.
"Is that so? Well, he better come back soon because I have something important to tell him."
"Important? What would that be?"
Marcus looks at Tess before replying. "The jewel that the Coleman family has been pa.s.sing down to every heir is missing." Since Tess has been working for the Coleman family for so long, Marcus trust Tess enough to tell her that the jewel of the Coleman family is missing.
"W-what?" Tess stuttered when she heard that from Marcus. A shocking expression is plastered on her face. She is having a hard time believing the Coleman family"s treasure has gone missing. That treasure is very important, without it, Aaron won"t be able to have the right to be called the heir of the Coleman family.
