Chapter 29 - Do Some Problems
A bunch of high school boys who were suffering from hangovers looked at each other in a daze, unable to react.
Dong MingEn ran a hand through his unruly hair and stupidly asked: “Boss, how come you stayed up all night? didn’t you drink?”
As soon as he said this, a loud crash was suddenly heard near the bathroom, scaring everyone.
They all looked towards the noise and saw that Gou XinDou had toppled a gla.s.s vase from a nearby side cabinet. Shaking, Gou XinDou felt his legs turn to jelly, and he ended up sitting on the ground.
The not-quite sober Gou XinDou exclaimed: “Where am I-ugh, headache…hurts…”
Everyone: “…” We all have headaches, who’s in the mood to listen to you!
But Dong MingEn kept on talking. He looked back towards Zheng PingQing and asked: “Boss, what did you do last night?”
Gou XinDou: !!!!
I already sacrificed myself to save your life. Why are you still trying to die!
Two people in the same room. They haven’t slept all night. One is fresh-faced, the other has huge eye bags. What else did they do!
Looking at the pure Dong MingEn asking such ridiculous questions, Gou XinDou suddenly learned what the phrase ‘one cannot live after sinning’ meant.
Gou XinDou quivered as he looked towards Zheng PingQing. As expected, Zheng PingQing’s expression had sunk, and his mood had turned dark. He looked like he was moments away from exploding. Zheng PingQing smashed his fist against the doorframe, the noise making everyone’s eyelids jump.
Gou XinDou prayed for Dong MingEn, hoping that he could pa.s.s on in peace.
“What else?” Zheng PingQing said slowly, his tone full of resentment. “I did Math problems all night.”
Everyone: “…”
Gou XinDou: “…??”
Dong MingEn had an expression of admiration and sincerely said: “Really worthy of being called our Boss! Studying all night, even after the test just ended!”
Lou XingGuang was ashamed of himself. “The Boss has so much perseverance!”
Zhou Daota murmured: “I just can’t compare…”
Even students from the top cla.s.s were shocked. Xu Yao, still mostly out of it, subconsciously clapped. “Commend, I commend you.”
Jiang TingJun also followed: “Very admirable.”
Fu YiFei and Pan Qibo both put up their thumbs. “….I feel second-rate compared to you.”
“Studying all night is harmful to your health.” Lin Qian told the others with a smile. “As a friend, let me remind you that you should all go to bed early and get up early. Maintaining a good mental state in more conducive to improving your efficiency when learning.”
After saying this, he turned and pushed Zheng PingQing back into the room. “And as for you, you need to catch up on your sleep. I can see your eyebags sagging like a shar-pei.”
Zheng PingQing allowed himself to be pushed, grumbling all the way: “Shar-peis can be handsome too, you knowk2026;.”
Lin Qian: “Yes, yes, yes.”
And with a bang, the bedroom door closed, leaving a hallway full of hungover youngsters. The teenagers looked amongst themselves, full of shame.
Lou XingGuang shivered. “I thought Boss was just studying in school, but he was actually studying at home took2026;”
“The Boss is smarter than us, but he still works so hard…I feel so sorry for him…” Dong MingEn looked moments away from bursting into tears.
“I suddenly have the urge to study!” Zhou Daota yelled, feeling like he had been injected with chicken blood.
“I really didn’t think that Zheng PingQing would study so seriously. My impression of him has changed.” Jiang TingJun exclaimed, feeling touched.
Fu YiFei and Pan Qibo nodded in agreement.
“No wonder Ah Qian was willing to be good to him…” Xu Yao muttered, unwittingly discovering the reason for all of Zheng PingQing’s actions.
While everyone was praising Zheng PingQing, Gou XinDou: “….”
No, no, didn’t you see the two of them come out of the same room? And studying all night? Do you really believe that nonsense?
These high school students ah, how can they still be so pure?
Gou XinDou rubbed his chest with one hand, feeling like he was suffering from heartburn.
In truth, it wasn’t that everyone was pure. It was just that they had all doubled up with another person last night. So naturally, they all a.s.sumed that the same happened with Lin Qian and Zheng PingQing. And besides, they were all men; how can their thoughts turn to dirtier things?
Honestly, cla.s.smate Gou XinDou really was overthinking things. In reality, Lin Qian and Zheng PingQing had been very pure indeed.
Lin Qian pushed Zheng PingQing back into the room and led him towards the bed. “Sleep a little longer.”
“Sleep with me.” Zheng PingQing said, looking at Lin Qian with equal parts fondness and bitterness.
Lin Qian lazily stretched as he replied: “Nope. You didn’t sleep when I laid down with you last night.”
Zheng PingQing: “…”
Zheng PingQing fell onto a pillow. “The problem was that the only thing you wanted to do beneath the sheets was chat. My body, br.i.m.m.i.n.g with youth, doesn’t agree to such things.”
Zheng PingQing didn’t expect Lin Qian to be so cruel that he never wavered on his belief to keep their hands to themselves, even when they were lying on the same bed. But Zheng PingQing also blamed himself. He couldn’t bear to go out and sleep on the sofa and waste this wonderful opportunity. So, in the end, he ended up doing Math problems all night to calm himself down.
As a result, after only one night, Zheng PingQing looked wan and sallow, a stark contrast to the reinvigorated Lin Qian. But it wasn’t like Lin Qian was totally absolved of any blame.
Lin Qian looked down at Zheng PingQing and said: “Then does it agree now?”
With a deadpan ‘haha,’ Zheng PingQing replied: “Even after an entire night of Math problems, it makes no promises.”
Lin Qian sighed. “Youngster, cherish your body a little more.”
But of course, in the end, Lin Qian still loved his boyfriend. Seeing him so distressed, Lin Qian said: “I’ll pour you a gla.s.s of water. Drink some, then go to sleep.”
With his face stuffed into his pillow, Zheng PingQing gave a m.u.f.fled reply: “You’d be more useful in helping me sleep than drinking water.”
Lin Qian smiled and helplessly shook his head. He left the bedroom and went downstairs, only to be met with a terrifying scene in the living room.
It was a true reflection of his friends’ subconscious. With some suffering hangovers, and some still unconscious, numerous bodies were slumped on the sofa and sprawled on the floor. There were broken vases and wayward shoes that had been pushed together into a messy pile. The entire living room looked like a pigsty, and Lin Qian struggled to look at this disaster directly.
Lin Qian stepped over a curled up Lou XingGuang. Lin Qian told him: “When you wake up, you have to clean up. You aren’t allowed to leave until everything is back to the way it was.”
The drowsy little students twitched their eyelids, and weakly answered: “OK.”
Upstairs, a frightened and sober Gou XinDou who was collecting his things so he could leave: “….”
Look at this att.i.tude; Lin Qian talks like he owns the house! And you dare to say that you were only doing Math problems last night!
A choked-up Gou XinDou silently threw his bag back on the ground. He then dropped himself on the bed and fell back asleep, wanting to leave his troubles to the future him.
After a while, Lin Qian came back into Zheng PingQing’s room with two gla.s.ses of water.
Lin Qian put the two gla.s.ses on the bedside table and said: “Come on, I’ll give you a chance. Here are two gla.s.ses of water. If you drink the one with salt in it, I’ll sleep with you for a while.”
Suddenly, the despondent Zheng PingQing became full of chicken blood. He sat up and said: “You said it, ah. Don’t back out later.”
Lin Qian raised a brow and replied: “Of course.”
Zheng PingQing stared at the two gla.s.ses that looked indistinguishable to each other. With a silent prayer, Zheng PingQing finally made up his mind and reached for one of the gla.s.ses. He looked at the gla.s.s on his hand and told it: “Whether I can sleep with my boyfriend today depends on you.”
After drinking a mouthful, he was immediately filled with joy. “This has salt.”
Lin Qian spread out his hands. “Then I guess I have to sleep with you.”
Zheng PingQing happily lied down, but Lin Qian reminded him: “You have to finish the water.”
Zheng PingQing hastily gulped down the rest of the water, then lied back down. “Come on, honey.”
Lin Qian quietly lay down beside him. Zheng PingQing stretched out his arm and invited Lin Qian to use it as a pillow. Lin Qian was speechless. “Aren’t you afraid of muscle cramps?”
“As long as I have my boyfriend, I’m not afraid of anything.” Zheng PingQing replied tenaciously.
With that, Lin Qian had no choice. He shuffled closer and burrowed his face into Zheng PingQing’s shoulder, then wrapped a hand around his waist.
Zheng PingQing remained quiet for a while. Then, his tone unwilling, he said: “I don’t think I did enough Math problems.”
Lin Qian was also quiet for a few moments before swearing: “…d.a.m.n it, it’s so early in the morning, but I want to do some Math problems too!”
Zheng PingQing: !!!! Things suddenly turned exciting!
But Lin Qian calmly continued to hug him. “Stop squirming, or we really are going to get up and do some problems. Maybe practice some English too.”
Zheng PingQing: “…” I hate Math and English so much!
Zheng PingQing, who was on the verge of exploding, tried to sound him out. “Just one kiss.”
Lin Qian didn’t answer. He simply raised his head, intending to kiss Zheng PingQing on the chin. But Zheng PingQing lowered his head at the same time, and their lips met each other instead. Zheng PingQing couldn’t help but lightly bite Lin Qian’s lower lip. Afterward, he complained: “f.u.c.k, why are you so proper when it comes to things like this!”
Lin Qian buried his face in Zheng PingQing’s chest and replied: “Because you deserve nothing but the best.”
In the end, no matter how young a body is, it would still become tired eventually. Zheng PingQing, who didn’t sleep at all last night, finally succ.u.mbed and dozed off while holding his boyfriend.
But because he slept peacefully last night, Lin Qian’s actions backfired on him, and he was now experiencing the same distress his boyfriend had experienced last night.
Try as he might, Lin Qian felt that his physiological functions were too responsive, troubling him greatly.
Ever since his rebirth, Zheng PingQing’s body expressed just how young and energetic it was. It was always anxious to move, to do something, so it was often difficult for him to fall asleep. But while embracing Lin Qian, all these anxious feelings disappeared. As he slept, he dreamed like he was floating on the ocean, the gentle waves bobbing him slowly.
Zheng PingQing didn’t know how long he slept before he was woken up by a noise outside.
Zheng PingQing opened his eyes. Lin Qian was no longer in his arms. He didn’t know how long it was since Lin Qian left, but Zheng PingQing knew that he was still somewhere in the house, so he didn’t panic. He turned over, stretching. He had slept too long and now felt a little thirsty. Noticing the two gla.s.ses on the bedside table, Zheng PingQing reached over and picked up the other gla.s.s he hadn’t drunk yet and took a sip.
“…..”
Um…this also has salt in it.
Ahh, compared to that intelligent boyfriend of his, he still had a long way in mastering the art of flirting!
Zheng PingQing began to seriously reflect on his skills.
The author has something to say:
Lin Qian, the ultimate tease _(:з」∠)_
I fixed a mistake in a previous chapter and in case anyone got confused:
In Chapter 26, it was mentioned that the first gift ZPQ ever gave to LQ in their last life was a pair of watches, but on Chapter 27, it said that LQ bought them. I mistranslated that part in Chapter 26! LQ was the one who bought the watches in their last life. Definitely. Triple checked.
Basically:
In their last life, LQ bought the watches and gave ZPQ the men’s watch to wear. This time around, ZPQ bought the same pair of watches and gave the men’s watch to LQ.
My eternal thanks to the eagle-eyed ladylazy for noticing this! I’m very sorry for the confusion.
