Chapter 1699 – Secret Sword Peak
From the outside, to most people, he merely looked pale and had no injuries. However, the truth was that his organs were severely injured and he was a mess internally.
This was Qin Yu.
Using the Mountain River Sword to kill Hu Fu in one blow seemed to be clean and easy but what he said earlier was already protecting his own reputation. It was not that his injuries were not light, but they were incredibly severe. So severe that he could only lie on the bed and groan.
Qin Yu had wanted to endure it in front of Rourou and the other new sect members to demonstrate that he was tough and powerful.
But he simply could not endure it. He could barely say more than, “Hm, hm.”
The old swordsman hugged the immortal sword in his hands and the flush on his face had yet to dissipate. Occasionally, he would look up to see the young Sect Master lying across from him.
When the time came, one step could reach heaven.
He never thought that at his age, when he was so close to shutting his eyes for good, he would actually have a chance to turn things around.
One-armed Zhang Xiashan lowered his head and remained silent.
Rourou looked at the two of them, “From today onwards, you both belong to the Opening Heavens Sword Sect. The Sect Master and I don’t have time to deal with the trivial matters of the sect. Go and get some disciples and clean the mountain gate.”
The old swordsman nodded respectfully. As someone who had gone through very tough times, he cherished everything he had.
Zhang Xiashan followed behind him silently. It was like he still had not fully comprehended the situation.
He had clearly came to the Opening Heavens Sword Sect to for a Question Sword; how did he end up as their gatekeeper?
And what about his one arm? Everyone thought that Zhang Xiashan reached his cultivation realm today because he lost an arm.
They did not know how much he had to suffer to reach where he was because of this arm.
But Zhang Xiashan did not dare to resist. Rourou looked at him, and that look banished all his thoughts.
When the two of them left, Rourou turned, “Aren’t you embarra.s.sing?”
Qin Yu chuckled bitterly. It was the truth and he could only admit it.
He turned and spat out a mouthful of blood. He finally felt the stuffiness over his chest ease slightly.
Rourou frowned and waved her sleeve. An invisible force wrapped around Qin Yu. She turned and walked deeper into the mountain.
She was not moving fast but the scenery around them seemed to be flying backwards at a rapid pace. In a few seconds, a wall appeared in front of them.
Rourou waved her sleeve and ripples appeared on the stone wall. She brought Qin Yu and stepped in.
The air in front of them twisted. When their vision was clear again, Qin Yu realized that he was now on a luxurious forested green Sword Peak.
Above him, the silver moon hung up high even though it was clearly still in the day.
Before Qin Yu could think further, the Sword Peak suddenly became noisy. “Chip chip,” there were shrieks as the branches of the huge trees started to shake.
It was as if there was something shooting up to the top in huge numbers.
Qin Yu looked at Rourou. She looked calm, and hence he was not worried.
Very soon, they arrived.
Monkeys!
Across the entire mountain, on tree branches and in gra.s.ses, heads peaked out and looked at the two guests, who were not in a hurry. The monkeys were silver in colour and they sparkled under the moonlight.
They looked sly.
Rourou reached out and with a ‘swish’, a silver monkey appeared at her feet. It slowly and carefully placed its head into her palm. It s.h.i.+fted around before letting out excited shrieks.
The entire monkey troop started to shriek.
Rourou snorted and they all immediately went silent. They all lowered their heads and looked at her respectfully.
“Bring Qin Yu to heal. Listen to everything he says from now.”
The monkey nodded.
Qin Yu opened his mouth to speak.
Rourou said slowly, “After you are healed, the first step of your Nine Bends Heaven Crossing Great Dao will be considered to be stabilized. When that happens, I will teach you a new way of cultivating.”
Qin Yu’s eyes lit up.
Rourou stepped away and placed Qin Yu down, allowing the monkeys to jump over and carry him up to the mountain peak.
These were definitely not normal monkeys. Their strength and speed was extraordinary. Qin Yu felt slightly dizzy and when the monkeys stopped, they were already at the peak.
There was a pool in front of him, and in it, the water looked as if it was a collection of moonlight. It sparkled a silver colour.
It resembled the colour of the monkeys’ fur.
The monkeys started to squeak as they threw him into the pool.
Plop –
Water splashed everywhere!
……
After the Sky Breaking Sword left Swallow Mountain, it turned a few rounds and brought Jin Geng back to the Jin Family. It dumped him in front of the ancestral shrine and entered.
Struggling to get up, Jin Geng kneeled in front of the ancestral shrine. Jin Geng could not understand how Qin Yu was so powerful. Hu Fu held the Sky Breaking Sword, yet he was killed in a single move. This was something that should only be possible if a True King had done it.
As he thought of Qin Yu’s figure, Jin Geng trembled. He did not want to admit, but it was undeniable that the horrifying image had been embedded in him.
The only good thing was that his fault was probably not big. Qin Yu was too powerful, so powerful that there was no chance of winning.
So his old ancestors should most likely give him another chance. After all, this was considered a mistake in the family’s strategy that led to today.
Jin Geng had already noticed that the Jin Family had set some things up in Swallow Mountain. This included allowing him to head to the Opening Heavens Sword Sect to try and get the sword spirit. There must be other internal dealings in play.
The door to the ancestral shrine opened silently and the Old Ancestor walked out. Jin Geng immediately plastered himself to the ground, “Greetings Old Ancestor.”
Old Ancestor Jin glanced at him coldly, “Jin Geng, if you cannot get rid of the fear imprinted in you, it will be hard for you to succeed in this life.”
Sweat appeared all over Jin Geng’s forehead, “I understand.”
“What happened on Swallow Mountain is not your fault. Go to Tempering Sword Tower and cultivate for a month. If you can recover your realm, I will give you another chance.”
Jin Geng was delighted as he kowtowed heavily, “Thank you Old Ancestor!”
……
West Desolate. Thousand Islands.
Long Island.
Lord Min was fis.h.i.+ng while the old chef was busy dissecting the fish that was caught and preparing fish soup.
The master liked to drink this.
The la.s.s with braids was standing beside her father. She was making noodles on a cutting board. Lord Min had a poor appet.i.te recently and liked to eat soft foods.
The fis.h.i.+ng line suddenly went taut. Lord Min flicked his hands and a huge fish jumped out of the water.
The huge fish was then thrown into a bamboo basket and Lord Min retrieved the fis.h.i.+ng hook nimbly. He did this very smoothly and skillfully. ReadNovelFull.com
“Lord Min, you have impressive technique!” Leftover Dog smiled and immediately praised.
This third generation member of the Li Family, who had been cold and silent initially, had changed after spending some time recuperating on Long Island.
Lord Min glanced at him, “Just tell me what you want.”
This b.a.s.t.a.r.d. Just looking at him made him annoyed. If not for the lady being so scary, he would have beaten him up into a paste.
Leftover Dog smiled, “Lord Min, I think that I have more or less recovered and it is time for me to go.”
Lord Min sneered, “Am I asking you to stay? If you want to leave then hurry and get lost. Why do you have to tell me!”
Leftover Dog coughed lightly, “The situation is this, my Origin Sword has been ruined and before the lady left, she said that you will give me one…”
Lord Min’s eyes widened, “Nonsense, why don’t I know about this!”
Leftover Dog reminded softly, “Lord Min, you are scolding My Lady.”
Lord Min’s expression changed slightly as he looked to the side. Not noticing anything wrong, he breathed a sigh of relief. He then felt that his behaviour was slightly embarra.s.sing and his face darkened even more.
Leftover Dog thought about it, “I know that you do not like me being here and think that I am very annoying.”
“Just take it as giving me a bone and getting rid of me to reduce your annoyance. How about that?”
He was giving him a way out.
Lord Min’s expression softened as he looked at him slightly hesitantly.
Thinking about it, he snorted, “I have a sword with me. If you can take it, it is yours.”
As he said this, he took out a sword and threw it into the water.
Leftover Dog was stunned for a moment before he dashed after it and entered the water with a ‘plop’.
A few moments later, Min Changjing raised his brows.
Woosh –
There was a sound as the surface of the water spread open and Leftover Dog flew out of it, the long sword in his hands. He said respectfully, “Thank you Lord for your gift; I will take my leave.”
Sss –
There was a sword cry as he flew into the sky and disappeared.
After he got something, he had to hurry and leave in case the lord changed his mind. Would he have dared to stay?
Old Chef wiped his hands and walked over, “Lord, why did you give him the sword?”
Min Changjing’s mouth twitched, “Do you think I wanted to give it to him?”
Old Chef was speechless as he looked awkward. He raised his hand and gave himself a slap.
“Cough! Lord, you have good foresight; I cannot understand this…the fish soup is almost done. I will get you a bowl.”
He turned and left.
Min Changjing rubbed his chin as he looked in the direction that Leftover Dog had left in. An obscure look appeared in his eyes.
Just now, he had taken out the sword in the spur of a moment. That b.a.s.t.a.r.d actually really took it.
This did not make sense, but it happened. This was probably fate.
The sword was definitely good. He never kept rubbish.
But to bring it to the Central Desolate…hehe, if he was not careful, there would be trouble.
Trouble would definitely come. As for how big, what had it got to do with him? You try to extort me, I accept it. I will give you a good sword that you cannot find problems with.
If trouble comes, then it is your fault for not using it properly!
Maybe he would even have a chance to get back at some old friends. As he thought of this, Lord Min smiled and his depression faded. He felt that he had given the sword to the right person.
……
Above the mountain peak, there was only the silver moon. On the second day since Qin Yu came, he found out that this sword peak was a special mystic realm.
He healed very quickly. The silver water seemed to contain a strong life force and was able to stabilise his Great Dao. As it healed Qin Yu, it also stabilized Qin Yu’s Nine Bends Heaven Crossing Great Dao and made it stronger.
It was only now that Qin Yu suddenly realized that he finally had the Nine Bends Heaven Crossing Great Dao. Previously, it was just an empty sh.e.l.l. While it looked magnificent, it could break and crumble at any time.
Sensing his acute senses of the surroundings as well as the state of suppression and coexistence that he possessed with the world, Qin Yu closed his eyes. The feeling was mysterious.
Woosh –
Rourou appeared by the water and looked at him, “Don’t get too absorbed in it. If too much time pa.s.ses, you may not wake up.”
He was startled and the mysterious feeling faded like a wave.
Qin Yu opened his eyes and looked at Rourou’s serious expression. What she said seemed to contain a truly terrifying truth.
Rourou did not explain further. There were some things that one would only truly understand through experiencing it.
“Today, I will teach you a new cultivation method. Simply put, it is unorthodox but very effective. The benefit is that it can help you to finish acc.u.mulating what you need for the Celestial Threshold in the shortest time. The bad thing is that the cultivation foundation is not stable and there will be a lot of problems in the future. You will need to spend a lot of energy and effort to solve it.”
Rourou had mentioned this before and Qin Yu was mentally prepared. He nodded without hesitation, “It is a thing for the future.”
When there was something to gain, something had to be lost.
He had to survive first. Then, he would bother about the troublesome things!
