Chapter 1103 – Asked to Marriage
Nine Nether PaG.o.da was sealed up once again. After such a sinister and horrible thing occurred, even the Nightmare Clan was refused entry.
So no matter how sad or unwilling Qin Yu was, there was nothing he could do about it. As they said, a fire at the city gates was a calamity for the fish in the moat. Bystanders would also suffer…even if this fish was a bit bigger, what he believed wasn’t wrong.
But this sort of situation wouldn’t last too long. After all, with the struggle for the new King here, the Nightmare Ancestral Land’s strength was active and this was a rare chance to cultivate. The Nightmare Clan wouldn’t miss out on this chance just because of an accident.
However, it could be expected that even if Nine Nether PaG.o.da opened up again, it would become far more difficult to enter than before.
Although the people that attacked Cloud Billow came from some faction within the Nightmare Clan, this would never be publicly acknowledged. Otherwise, their honor would be ruined. They could only put out an even more severe att.i.tude to outsiders to indicate how they regarded this issue.
This could be considered a continuation of the fish in the moat being harmed…
Qin Yu knew that if he wanted to enter Nine Nether PaG.o.da again, he could only do so through the old King’s lineage. But for now, he really didn’t want to go to them.
It wasn’t that he was afraid…
Okay, while he lived these days steadily and calmly, if he really saw Cloud Billow or that old freak Cloud Boundless, he was sure to feel uncomfortable.
This spoke of a truth. In the face of an absolute strength, it wasn’t always a good thing to have their weakness in hand. Not only would it not bring benefits, but it would be like drinking a mouthful of scalding soup that couldn’t be swallowed or spit back out. He could only suffer quietly.
As Qin Yu sighed, feeling down on his luck, another invitation arrived for him. The demon who delivered it was familiar. It seemed that the first invitation to Bluetile Courtyard was also delivered by him.
“Your Excellency Qin Yu, I am here upon orders of the young master to bring you to the courtyard. If possible, I ask you to immediately come with me. The carriage is waiting outside.” His demeanor was restrained and his voice was respectful.
This demon didn’t know much about Qin Yu, but he was undoubtedly an extremely important guest to the old King’s lineage.
This point could be inferred from the invitations of both the Clan Elder and Sir Cloud Billow.
You think this judgment is too sloppy? Hoho, what sort of characters are the Clan Elder and Sir Cloud Billow? Let alone at this time when it was a critical period for the struggle of the new King’s throne, when would they ever waste their precious time on anyone unimportant?
Even an idiot could draw this conclusion!
Qin Yu revealed a strange look, instinctually feeling some rejection even though he had been thinking about how to gain the qualifications to enter Nine Nether PaG.o.da from the old King’s lineage not too long ago.
As someone dispatched by Bluetile Courtyard, the demon that delivered the invitation might not be strong, but he was insightful. He could sense a bit of coldness and hesitation from Qin Yu’s silence.
Who didn’t know of Sir Cloud Billow’s status in Adversity Peak City? This Qin Yu clearly knew that this was a personal invitation from the young master, but he was still debating on whether or not he wanted to go. This only proved that his status was even greater than he first thought.
Although his mission was only to deliver the invitation, if Qin Yu didn’t come then it would be considered a dereliction of duty.
Without any hesitation, the demon smiled. He continued to say, “Your Excellency Qin Yu, the Clan Elder also hopes to see you again.”
During this recent period of time, Cloud Boundless had almost become a lurking shadow in Qin Yu’s heart. He never knew when that old thing would leap out from behind a door and slap him to death with one strike.
Although Qin Yu wouldn’t die with one slap, if they truly tore apart all pretense of face, it really would become troublesome.
After thinking for a moment, Qin Yu said, “Alright. Please wait a moment. I will come out soon.”
The messenger demon bowed and respectfully said, “The carriage will be waiting outside the inn.”
When he left, Qin Yu’s complexion immediately clouded over. Strictly speaking, it was the old King’s lineage that owed him a favor, so why did he need to be afraid? This was a really unique situation!
Was this going to be a red banquet where he would be murdered?
That shouldn’t be the case. Otherwise, Cloud Boundless would have used some other method to invite him. He definitely wouldn’t be so temperate.
Stand firm. Don’t be afraid. At the very least, the old King’s lineage had no idea he knew of their weakness.
If he didn’t say anything, who would know?
Moments later, the carriage left the inn. Qin Yu sat in the comfortable compartment. Two demon women were in front of him, carefully serving him.
Old Fox and Black Astral followed behind the carriage. They glanced at each other, both sensing the anxiousness in the other’s eyes.
Qin Yu hadn’t said anything to them before they left, only informing them to be discreet. But, they had seen the cloudiness in his eyes.
Could it be that there was something else to the invitation this time?
It had to be said that they were two Demon Commanders, and one of them had even touched the threshold of the Demon King boundary. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say his strength was tyrannical.
While it was arrogant to say he could freely wander throughout the abyss without fear, it was more or less true. He wouldn’t be afraid of trouble coming to his door.
But the question was whether their young master’s eyes were looking too high up when choosing an opponent. While no one knew the true strength of the old King’s lineage, easily suppressing the two of them was absolutely possible.
Thinking of this, the two old demons couldn’t help but force a smile.
The journey proceeded smoothly. When they arrived at Bluetile Courtyard there was no grand reception this time. Before the main entrance opened, Qin Yu was immediately invited to a side door.
After turning into a smaller garden, the demon who led the way hurriedly stopped and bowed.
Qin Yu looked up and his heart twitched. He cupped his hands together and bowed, “I greet the Clan Elder!”
This old thing, was he really this bored? He was still in the mood to drink tea at such a time?
Or could it be that Cloud Boundless was intentionally waiting for him here?
Cloud Boundless smiled. He said in a warm and intimate tone, “Little friend Qin Yu, you arrived. I was actually worried that you would be cautious and not come for the time being. Hoho, but it appears I’ve underestimated you. Your breadth of spirit and n.o.ble heart is truly worthy of being a handsome and outstanding youth!”
Qin Yu’s lips twitched. Just what kind of messy way was this of complimenting others? And no matter how he listened to it, he felt that there was something else in his words.
Before he could think further, Cloud Boundless waved his hand, “Go, go, you young people have more in common so there’s no need to waste your time here with an old man like me.”
This caused Qin Yu to relax a little. He really didn’t want to face this old thing. After bowing and apologizing, he immediately turned and left.
Qin Yu didn’t know if it was an illusion or not, but he always thought that Cloud Boundless’ eyes were constantly on him. It was only when he turned the corner and left the garden that this nervous and uneasy feeling slowly vanished.
Qin Yu took a deep breath and slowly let it out, trying to relieve the heaviness in his heart. Although Cloud Boundless’ expression and tone were normal, there seemed to be a bit more…eagerness.
That’s right, it was eagerness. This was an incomparably correct word that described Cloud Boundless’ vague att.i.tude.
But for some unknown reason, Qin Yu felt uncomfortable. He felt as if he had been targeted by some great wolf.
Hiss –
As this thought came to mind, he immediately thought something was wrong. From the very start, Cloud Boundless’ att.i.tude towards him was strange.
There was a problem, there was definitely a problem!
As Qin Yu barely managed to rid himself of this restless mood, he arrived at Cloud Billow’s dwelling.
The defense was tight and nearly watertight. This didn’t exceed Qin Yu’s expectations. After all, Cloud Billow had just been attacked in Nine Nether PaG.o.da, something previously thought unimaginable.
Old Fox and Black Astral were not allowed to enter. Qin Yu thought for a moment and nodded. The two old demons were guided to a side courtyard where they could wait.
Without anyone to lead the way, Qin Yu briefly paused at the entrance before pus.h.i.+ng open the door and walking in.
Unexpectedly, Cloud Billow’s courtyard wasn’t large and the layout was simple. And it also seemed that he was alone right now.
From the look of things, were they planning on telling him about some unusual secret? But in truth, even if he didn’t know that Cloud Billow was actually a girl, the two sides had strictly only met twice. There was no friends.h.i.+p between them.
Could it be that she knew he knew?
These words were a bit convoluted, but everyone knew what it meant. Qin Yu’s complexion changed a bit as he drew in a deep breath.
Don’t panic. Clarify the situation before deciding things. Since he was able to come here, it meant things hadn’t reached an uncontrollable level.
“Your Excellency Qin Yu has arrived? Please enter.”
Cloud Billow’s voice sounded out. Hearing the dignified tone in her masculine voice, even though he knew it wasn’t right, he still showed a strange expression. This wicked girl’s acting skills weren’t ordinary!
“Cough…it’s me, Qin Yu.” As he spoke, he firmed himself. He took several steps in and pushed open the door, walking into the room.
Cloud Billow was neatly dressed, sitting in the main seat. When she saw Qin Yu she stood up and bowed, “I still haven’t officially thanked you for saving my life. Please receive my bow and respect.”
Qin Yu didn’t avoid it. After a pause he said, “There’s no need to thank me. I previously asked you to not tell anybody about what happened in Nine Nether PaG.o.da concerning me…I wonder if young master has done that?”
Cloud Billow was silent for a time. She slowly shook her head and said, “I apologize. Because the Clan Elder asked me in all seriousness, I could not hide it. But rest a.s.sured, the Clan Elder promised me that he would not inform anyone else about it.”
Qin Yu rubbed his eyebrows. As he thought, the previous meeting wasn’t a coincidence. That old thing Cloud Boundless had been purposefully waiting for him. But, just what was he plotting now?
Cloud Billow should have preserved Qin Yu’s secret; after all, it was a life-saving graciousness. But he also knew that with Cloud Boundless’ status, once he started pressing Cloud Billow on this matter, there was no way she could hide it from him.
There was no significance in worrying about this point anymore. Qin Yu took a deep breath and wryly smiled, “I hope so. After all, I don’t want to provoke too much trouble.” He looked up at Cloud Billow and continued, “May I ask for what reason you invited me here today?”
Although he knew that he had been sold out by Cloud Billow and felt a little sad, there was at least one point he was certain of.
Cloud Billow didn’t know that he knew.
This was also convoluted…but in short, the situation was much better than the worst case scenario. Otherwise, Cloud Billow might have directly opened up with that when they saw each other!
Facing Qin Yu’s questioning, an unnatural look flashed across Cloud Billow’s face. After several breaths of time she slowly said, “As a way to thank you for saving my life, the Clan Elder would like to marry off a woman in the tribe to be your wife.”
As she spoke, she stared at Qin Yu, her eyes s.h.i.+ning with luminescence.
Qin Yu nearly choked on his own saliva. He violently coughed, not caring about how distressed he appeared. He looked at Cloud Billow.
What kind of thanks was that?
Moreover, why are you looking at me like that? And why is there some anger and shame there?
Please don’t tell me that the woman you are referring to is yourself!
As this thought appeared, Qin Yu coughed even more fiercely. He bent over, hiding his shocked and incredulous expression.
Someone just asked me to my face to marry them; what am I supposed to say? Please answer, this is urgent!
