Jiro stared at the night sky while sitting on the roof of the Uchiha compound. The stars were shimmering in the night sky like tiny dots scattered across a dark piece of paper. As he continued to look up, Jiro was silently reflecting on the two weeks of hunting. The Genin quickly found out that it was much more efficient to hunt the specific bounty targets rather than each other. It was also quickly noticed that some target information was accurate.

Just thinking of the chaos that was the second part of the Chunin Exams gave Jiro a small headache. He found it absolutely disgusting as well as amusing that some experienced Jonin decided to have fun by transforming into the target some people were after just to stomp them into the ground. Naturally, they had also been wrecked by one of the Jonin. The particular Jonin was a master of Taijutsu and he happened to be from around the same generation as village founders.

Another event that shook the minds of the Genin was the introduction of counter hunting. If a team failed to accomplish their mission and were captured by their target, they would lose the points that they would have been awarded for capturing the target. The counter hunting issue only got worse as many s.a.d.i.s.tic Jonin decided to join the slaughter fest.

In the end, the Hokage had to put a stop to it because some Jonin went too far. An unlucky team was in the negatives of their point value after they had been bullied by the Jonin. It also caused much chaos all over the village resulting in many Genin running all over the village to repair damages.

------------------

Jiro jumped down from the roof and landed without making any dust move about. He walked back into the house completely worry free. Tomorrow would be the day where it would be announced which teams pa.s.sed the second part of the exams. After he got into bed, Jiro discovered that he was unable to sleep.

It wasn"t because of nervousness, but Jiro missed Kana. He had not seen his pseudo daughter for much of the hunting part of the exams because he was pre-occupied with the exam. As he wondered how much she could have developed over the past two weeks he was absent from her life, Jiro got up and tossed the blanket away from his body.

He got out of the house and rushed out towards the Forest of Death. He still knew where her territory would be located so Jiro arrived with ease before marching right into her part of the forest. As he continued to announce his presence by pouring his chakra out into the forest, Jiro heard the beat of wings and looked up to witness a fiery eagle diving towards him.

The clearing shook as winds beat the trees about and dust went flying everywhere. The tempest soon pa.s.sed and Jiro saw the appearance of Kana. She looked to be somewhat taller and bigger than he remembered. Her feathers were shining with a glow that seemed similar to the metal in the weapons Jiro had familiarized himself with.

He noticed that some feathers were much larger looking and dangerous than other ones and Kana reeked of battle. Jiro could practically feel the blood and guts of foes on Kana"s body as she stank of b.l.o.o.d.y fights to the death. looking over her once more with his sharingan activated, Jiro could see the tiny cracks on some feathers that looked ready to fall off.

Other feathers were caked with a layer of dried blood. When Jiro reached over and started to stroke her feathers, he could feel the sharp edges on some of her feathers. He plucked a feather that had no cracks on it while ignoring Kana"s indignant squawk and tried to stab it with his kunai. The kunai rebounded leaving the point chipped and the feather completely fine. In order to placate Kana, Jiro started to stroke her feathers once more.

As he continued to stroke her feathers, Jiro could practically feel the fiery nature of Kana as well as the vitality within her body. Heat was radiating off of her body, and her soft crows of happiness were vibrating the air. Jiro took a look at his hand after stroking Kana and it was a dull shade of red from all the dried blood that covered Kana. After familiarizing himself with Kana"s larger form, Jiro jumped onto Kana"s back before she took off.

The inertia immediately pushed Jiro back as he clung onto Kana"s back. While they were gaining air, Jiro looked around with his sharingan active for some source of running water, but he couldn"t spot any so he immediately ordered Kana to go towards a waterfall or running water so he could thoroughly clean Kana of her mess.

While in the air, Jiro still had his sharingan active so he could see the beauty of the landscape as well as the simple nature of Konoha from far away. Tree lined everywhere and Konoha was only like a small blimp within a giant forest of trees. As they neared a raging river, Jiro spotted a familiar looking ape nearby the river.

The ape was covered in scars that looked similar to what would have been inflicted by Kana"s claws as well as feathers. It"s flesh also looked very burnt indicating that Kana had improved while he was busy. The ape had also spotted Kana and it snorted, but immediately began to move away from where Kana was arriving to a spot further down.

They landed nearby the river and Jiro simply ordered Kana to jump into the river while withstanding the raging water. He had faith that Kana would be able to withstand the water"s force as well as the discomfort that would come from excessive contact with water. Kana jumped out of the river a couple minutes later thoroughly drenched every where except her head and back.

She glared at Jiro balefully, but he sprayed her back down with a water release jutsu. He considered this water release jutsu to be the water release counterpart to his flame laser so he weakened the force behind it somewhat.

A thoroughly drenched Kana glared at Jiro as he continued to inspect Kana for any signs of dirtiness. When Jiro was finally satisfied, but gave Kana the "ok" signal so she immediately released fire all around her body. Bursts of fire erupted from her body instantly evaporating the water into mist and a burst also happened to diverge from Kana and head straight towards Jiro.

He batted it aside making it hit a tree and burst into a weak flame that was too weak to have actually harmed Jiro. Kana seemed to have been dissatisfied that Jiro did not let her land a hit on him so she immediately sent waves of flames towards Jiro with a vengeance. Her target just weaved between the gaps and arrived right before her.

Jiro gave a small knock on Kana"s head with his index knuckle making her squawk in indignation as well as some anger. Kana did not hold back this time as bursts of fire instantly engulfed the spot Jiro had been standing on. This game of tag continued before Kana gave up and faced away from Jiro in a manner similar to a pout.

Kana had given up so Jiro got back onto her back and let her head back towards Konoha. The cold winds from night were being instantly broken as Jiro and Kana let their flaming chakra leak off of them. The time in the air came to an end when they arrived at the edge of the forest. Jiro patted down some feathers on Kana"s head after getting off of her.

Kana disappeared into the forest with a rush of air that instantly sent dust streaking towards Jiro. From the corner of his eye, Jiro could notice that Kana"s eyes were br.i.m.m.i.n.g with amus.e.m.e.nt from her successful prank as well as the knowledge that he would let only her get away with that sort of prank. He grinned as she continued to fly away, disappearing into the forest.
