Herod could think. He knew he was alive, but he also knew that he had died in the forest from his fatal injuries. He could faintly hear some voices, but it sounded m.u.f.fled. Warmth surrounded him, but he felt kind of smothered. In this limited s.p.a.ce, some other presence was next to him. The allure of sleep overcame his will to stay awake so he resumed his slumber.

Herod was roused from his slumber again after hearing some particularly audible noises. He felt like he was in a sea, but the water was warm, comforting. Nothing he experienced before felt like this however, it was similar to the feeling of being high or barely conscious.

A man with coal colored eyes and brown hair could be seen with his pregnant wife. He was dressed in pants and a long sleeve shirt that were both a dark navy blue. On the back of his shirt was a symbol that looked similar to a fan. The top part of the symbol was red while the bottom part was white and had a handle extending downwards just like a fan. He was whispering blessings for his children next to his wife"s belly. His wife was dressed in loose clothing designed to not restrict movement and those clothes had a color scheme similar to that of her husband"s.

In the house, an empty room was seen with two cribs inside. The cribs had two different color schemes, one was mainly blue while the other was mainly black. The house was built in a more traditional style with a wooden sliding door to separate rooms and a small garden in the middle filled the house with a sense of elegance while not being overly luxurious. The entrance to the house was visibly noticeable with the same fan like symbol seen on banners in front of the house.

Many people with the fan like symbol and darker clothes were strolling in the neighborhood near the house. Businesses selling food whether it be on the streets or in buildings were also littered with the symbol. Occasionally, a blur would leap from building to building. The entrance to this part of the village was noticeably filled with hues of blue and black with a rotation of guards watching the main entrance and occasionally greeting others who would enter into the neighborhood.

This neighborhood was just one part of a big village. The entrance to the village was guarded by two people. Both of them had a flak jacket with an olive green color and both of them were wearing a head band. The head band had a symbol etched into it with snail like curves and a triangle pointing downwards on the left part of the metal band. Another person, this time a lady, could be seen operating a small shack near the entrance to the village and having everyone who entered into the village check up with her. Occasionally, a team led by an adult and three kids would check in with the lady and then head out.

The village was filled with an air of peace. Everyone was strolling with leisure to their next destination. No sense of panic or rush was noticed among the people. People would greet one another or enter into a building, presumably to work. The sun was shining in the sky, but it was the warmth of the morning. Unfortunately, the peaceful atmosphere was gone in a different part of the village. Three kids were trying to capture a feline. They were moving at speeds which would be difficult to notice with an untrained eye, yet the feline was swerving about and dodging at the last moment making the kids crash into each other multiple times.

"Sensei, help us out here" whined one the kids. Unfortunately for the group of kids, their teacher refused to help out and instead took joy in the suffering of the kids.

"This is a team building exercise designed to help you work better together. Also, this is going to be your last mission before moving up to C-Rank missions."

Although they were overjoyed at being able to avoid D-Rank missions, all of the kids noticed the indistinguishable sound of joy within their teacher"s voice. Forgetting that their sensei was a Jonin, they then proceeded to try and beat up their teacher, which only resulted in bruises and wounded egos for them. A ninja dressed in a grey vest with black pants was observing the kid"s futile rebellion against their teacher and a sense of amus.e.m.e.nt emanated from the observer. The ninja then disappeared from sight, bursting into a bunch of leaves.

Elsewhere in the village, an older looking man was observing the futile actions of the kids through a crystalline ball. He also seemed to be filled with joy when he noticed that the d.a.m.ned near immortal cat once again evaded the kids. He could recall when he was but a small lad persevering in order to catch the cat that always managed to escape from its owner. After deactivating the crystal ball, he looked at the paperwork scattered within his office and gave a sigh filled with eternal sadness.
