Jiro bowed in respect towards the eagles seated before him. Reo, the leading general among the twelve generals for the eagle clan was the most respected of all eagles, but the other eleven generals were also highly respected. The eagles were a warlike animal tribe so the generals commanded the most respect among the eagles and the best way to convey respect was to bow before them. Jiro was now a part of the eagle tribe, not as a summoner, but as an eaglet. When he grows up, then he will be called an eagle. There was no fancy ceremony or procedure for Jiro to be included. The twelve generals simply looked at him before discussing among themselves whether he should be counted as part of them. Jiro pa.s.sed their test of raising a baby eagle and his mentality resonated well with them so he became a part of their tribe. However, before Jiro could leave for home, he had to learn one more thing from the eagles which was how they used wind chakra.
Eagles used wind chakra to make their claws very sharp and they taught Jiro how to mold his wind chakra as he was not proficient in wind release. He got the wind release part down very quickly from use of his sharingan. The eagles then showed him how to keep the wind chakra a certain distance from his fingers to avoid hurting himself while still using the wind chakra to turn his hands and fingers into claws of a predator.
jiro had many questions he wanted to ask the eagles, but he had to leave due to his own time constraints as well as obligations. On the bright side, Jiro was allowed to bring Kana with him to his home as he could teach Kana how to use her claws. Jiro was considered to be the parent of Kana due to him being her constant guardian. The eagles generally kept watch over their young until they had several battles under their belt so the tribe was fine with letting Kana accompany Jiro.
---------------------------------------
An anbu wearing a turtle mask was walking through the training grounds where Jiro had been summoned. Although a team of genin were training with their sensei, the kids did not notice the anbu. They were practicing the usage of their hand seals and rotating between them. Only the sensei looked back at the anbu and gave a small nod of acknowledgement. The anbu continued to stroll around making sure there were no enemy ninja.
As she continued to patrol the training grounds, she was startled when she noticed the presence of Jiro and Kana. She did not immediately attack, but asked for Jiro"s headband. Jiro pulled back his long hair to reveal a symbol of Konoha engraved on his headband. She did not noticed any traces of Genjutsu or any other suspicious details, but she was about to grill Jiro on more details such as his ninja graduation number. Fortunately for Jiro, the timely arrival of the Uchiha clan messenger saved him much ha.s.sle.
The duo of Jiro and the messenger were walking back to the Uchiha compound when they happened to meet with Fugaku and his friends. The messenger was dismissed while the boys began the walk to the compound of the Uchiha. They mostly talked and asked about Jiro"s adventure in the realm of the summons. They were most curious about Kana who was walking behind them and causing a ruckus. Kana had never seen such buildings and the only interaction she had with humans came from Jiro so she was running from one place to another while staring at the civilians who cringed away.
Jiro ignored her actions for the most part and let her do as she pleased because she wasn;y harming anybody. Fugaku and his friends Duy as well as Teuchi could see the Jiro inside of Kana. While Kana was incredibly curious and interacting with both civilians and ninjas, she specifically targeted civilians who showed fear in front of her. She would run in front of them and look down on them as they cowered in fear of her. Jiro found her actions very funny, but Fugaku wanted Kana to stop terrorizing the citizens of the Uchiha clan.
He asked Jiro for some advice on how he could try to distract Kana and Jiro replied that Kana liked fire. Fugaku formed a small fireball in front of Kana to try and impress her, but she ignored him. Duy and Teuchi weren"t worried at first, but they saw the signs that Jiro was up to mischief again so they took some steps back. Fugaku easily noticed his friend"s movement, but he was determined to stop kana even if it meant that he would be the b.u.t.t of one of Jiro"s pranks.
Fugaku formed a much larger fireball in front of Kana and the citizens cheered as Kana followed it with an entranced look in her eye. Fugaku gained a smile as he succeeded, but it turned into a frown when Kana ate the fireball he formed. She then went back to terrorizing the citizens so Fugaku formed another fireball of similar size. Kana ignored it so he formed a fireball now the size of his head which Kana followed before eating it again. Fugaku figured out the pattern and resigned himself to being inflicted with chakra exhaustion. At this point, Duy and Teuchi figured out Jiro"s prank so they figured that they would be safe resulting in them moving back closer to the group.
By the time they arrived at the house of the clan head, Fugaku was exhausted while Kana looked highly dissatisfied. She fixed a disdainful look at Fugaku who was too tired to respond to her dismissal of him. Duy dropped Fugaku onto the couch while Teuchi went into the kitchen to fix something up. While Teuchi was cooking, the boys discussed the happenings in the village that Jiro missed while Kana was in the courtyard and stared into the house with a longing look.
Duy and Fugaku mentioned that the Chunin exams had been cancelled while relations with Suna had gone downhill. It didn"t seem like war would be coming, but it would be better to be careful. They also said that the next exam would be in Iwa, but relations between Iwa and Konoha were not the best so they might not be invited. Jiro listened with attention, but the smell of what Teuchi was cooking overwhelmed him as he only ate honey and roast meat for over six months.
"Did Teuchi"s cooking get improved while I was gone?"
Duy and Fugaku stared at Jiro slightly incredulous that he would care about food so much. He normally seemed to be pretty apathetic so it was a surprise that he would ask about food.
"Teuchi started helping out his parents in cooking more often. Unfortunately, that was why he couldn"t study as much for the academy so we decided to stay a year back. Luckily, the next early graduation is in only a couple of days and only we are going to try it out. If we succeed, all three of us can be put on the same team as part of the a.s.sault team. Duy improved more on his Taijutsu and he named that unknown technique as the Eight Gates technique because there were eight parts to it. Each gate he could unlock would increase his close combat capablity exponentially. Currently, he could unlock his first gate with ease, but he was not able to mitigate the backlash of using it."
The boys continued to discuss recent events or personal ones such as the growth of the Jiro faction. Jiro found that piece of news to be of no matter, but Fugaku solemnly warned Jiro about a certain woman in the faction who was a fujoshi. Teuchi joined into the conversation after serving a hot bowl of ramen which Jiro enjoyed much more than the other boys. Teuchi had been learning baking from his parents so Duy and Fugaku found it strange that he would make a noodle and soup dish, but Jiro didn"t mind. His extremely positive reaction to the ramen led to Duy and Fugaku trying it out as well.
They were not expecting much, but both boys were pleasantly surprised at the taste of the dish. The broth was rich while the noodles were still chewy. There was even some thinly sliced pieces of beef inside the broth floating around. The conversations ended as the boys enjoyed the meal. The sounds of voices disappeared while the sound of slurping echoed about. Duy and Teuchi didn"t mind making excess noise while eating, but Fugaku was eating silently. Jiro was also slurping just as much as the other two which came as a shock to Fugaku.
Junichiro came home to a silent house, but he smiled when he saw that the boys were all sleeping in the living room in various positions. Akane had gone on a mission to Uzushiogakure so she was missing the scene, but Junichiro was sure that she would be happy to hear that Jiro started to become more friendly.
Junichiro received a small shock when he spotted Kana in the courtyard. He heard reports that a giant eagle had been spotted in the streets terrorizing the citizens. Amusingly, she only really bothered those that seemed to fear her resulting in quite some funny chases. As funny as that was, Junichiro could appreciate and empathize with the citizens to some extent. He did not realize just how large Kana was until he came face to face with her.
The courtyard she was sleeping in was once filled with the warm hues of autumn, but it was now filled with the sight of feathers. Kana did not shed feathers easily, but she nearly filled the courtyard with her sheer size resulting in an abundance of feathers to fill any observer"s sight. Her sharp beak and claws must have looked terrifying to a citizen especially if she chased after them. Junichiro closed the door after checking in on Kana and he began the walk to his own bedroom, ready to sleep.
