Chapter 813: S-Cla.s.s AI Robot Research Lab
Professor Ma was stumped by Zi Yi’s question and answered, “This can’t be restored at all.”
“Why not?” Zi Yi was a little surprised. “Don’t tell me such a simple restoring reagent is yet to be invented?”
Professor Ma: “…”
If not for the fact that he had been working as an archaeologist for decades, Professor Ma would have thought restoring oxidized cultural relics was easy to accomplish based on how Zi Yi said that.
He did not know whether to laugh or cry and he purposely said, “In that case, does Student Zi know of the method to restore the oxidized area and at the same time, not damage the cultural relic?”
“Yes, I do.” Zi Yi mentioned several different types of chemicals. “After mixing these chemicals according to the correct ratio, add in a natural anti-corrosion gra.s.s and the oxidized area can be restored.”
Professor Ma: “…!”
Zi Yi saw that Professor Ma seemed to be doubtful of her claims (but in actual fact, he was stunned and rooted to the floor) and she said, “If Professor Ma doesn’t believe me, I’ll write down the chemical ingredients and their quant.i.ties. You can get someone from the Chemistry Department to mix them, then visit the Chinese Medicine Department to see if they have such gra.s.s in stock. After combining these ingredients, you can test out the effects on one of the relics.”
Professor Ma’s heartrate quickened and he hastily nodded his head. “Ok, ok! Write down the items needed and I’ll go to the respective departments to get their help.”
As to whether it worked or not, he’ll know after giving it a try.
Having said that, he quickly rummaged through the pile of items on his table to find a pen and a notebook before he handed them to Zi Yi.
Zi Yi took the pen and notebook, and finished writing the list rather quickly.
However, Zi Yi never expected that a restoring agent that she casually wrote about would bring about such a great influence on the archaeology circle.
By the time she came out of the Archaeology Department, it was 3 p.m.
In the following period of time, Zi Yi basically followed Dou Xiaoyong to the Robot R&D Center.
The Robot R&D Center was rather vast and Professor Dou’s team was just one of the many departments.
The types of robots researched by each department were also different.
The first time they came to the research center, Dou Xiaoyong had warned Zi Yi not to wander around.
However, when they made their way over, someone came in and called for Zi Yi. “Miss Zi, Mr. Tang wants you to make a trip to his office.”
Mr. Tang was the only one in his office. After Zi Yi made her way inside, he went straight to the point. “Little Zi, I wish to transfer you to the R&D department of S-Cla.s.s AI robots.”
Zi Yi did not agree right away and merely looked at him.
Mr. Tang explained to her further. “The S-Cla.s.s AI robots are one of the projects that the country hasn’t revealed to the public at present. The personnel inside are all recruited from outside and they are all geniuses in this field. However, I suspect that there’s a spy among them.”
Zi Yi furrowed her eyebrows together.
Mr. Tang then said, “But don’t you worry. There’s absolutely no problem with your safety. Part of the reason why I wish for you to be transferred over is that if there is really a spy among the team, it would mean that there must be some among the leaders in the base.
“After you transfer over, they will definitely try to test your abilities and then try every means possible to draw you to their side. You only have to…”
Zi Yi stayed in Mr. Tang’s office for ten minutes and came out together with Guard Zhu.
The inside of the research base was heavily guarded, with sentries posted every few yards. Moreover, they were armed with live ammunition along with various state-of-the-art monitoring, defense, and inspection equipment. Along the way, Guard Zhu would say to every soldier guarding there, “There’s no need to check her.”
Guard Zhu explained to Zi Yi. “Mr. Tang has informed me that your body is not suitable to be in contact with too much inspection equipment.”
Zi Yi nodded her head.
Guard Zhu and Zi Yi continued walking for around fifteen minutes and arrived at a certain place inside the research base. In front of them was a large single-story building.
The building was made from one-way tempered gla.s.s and there was no way to see the situation inside from the outside at all.
The gate of the building was very wide. It was at least five meters wide.
Outside the door stood a group of armed guards.
When they arrived at the gate, an infrared wall appeared and Guard Zhu said to Zi Yi, “Miss Zi, everyone has to pa.s.s through this checkpoint.”
Zi Yi nodded her head and said nothing as she followed him to walk past the infrared wall.
This type of infrared ray was harmful to pregnant women, but Zi Yi had a barrier with her and these types of infrared rays would not be able to affect the fetus at all.
After making their way inside, they were met with a long downward pa.s.sage, which was brightly lit.
Both of them continued walking for another four to five minutes before another door appeared in front of them.
After Guard Zhu used his identification card, the door opened. Unexpectedly, there was another door.
When the second door was opened, what appeared in front of them was an extremely s.p.a.cious area. At first glance, it was filled with robots.
Among these robots, there were patrolling robots, worker robots, and robots that were currently charging with the solar energy reflected through the gla.s.s.
Zi Yi raised her head to take a glance. Sure enough, the roof was made with special gla.s.s.
Guard Zhu led Zi Yi around the edge of the room.
After walking for another distance, they came to a door. Upon opening the door, only then did they see Mr. Tang, along with several other men wearing working overalls, standing in front of a robot lying on a mechanical bed.
At this moment, someone said, “We named this robot Moonlight. Its greatest function is that it is capable of photosynthesizing and acc.u.mulating energy to launch a powerful energy wave.”
Mr. Tang was clearly satisfied with the robot’s functions. “Not bad.”
He then asked, “What are the disadvantages of this robot?”
“It would be a little troublesome if it continues raining for two days consecutively. If it can’t receive a light source for a prolonged period of time, the energy in its body will slowly dwindle.”
“Can’t it store it in a reserve?”
“Right now its maximum capacity can only last for ten days. However, we’re considering having the robot gather energy from other sources such as wind or water in addition to light.”
Mr. Tang nodded his head.
Just then, Guard Zhu went over and whispered to him, “Mr. Tang, Miss Zi has arrived.”
Mr. Tang turned around.
The other people inside the room also turned to look.
Mr. Tang said to Zi Yi with a smile, “Little Zi, come over.”
When Zi Yi made her way over, the others were clearly sizing her up.
Zi Yi walked over to Mr. Tang’s side and he introduced the other people from left to right. “This is Engineer Meng, Engineer Peng, Engineer Chang, Engineer Yang, and lastly, Engineer Chu.”
He then introduced Zi Yi to the engineers. “This is Little Zi.”
The ages of these five engineers were about thirty to forty-five years old.
Engineer Meng appeared to be the oldest. He wore gla.s.ses and seemed to be the easiest to get along with.
Engineer Peng looked to be around his early forties. He was very tall and had a crew cut. He even had a deep scar on his left cheek, making him appear as though he was someone who mixed with thugs.
The corners of Engineer Chang’s lips were naturally curved upward, making him seem like he was constantly smiling. However, the depths of his eyes were very deep, and it was hard for others to see through his thoughts.
Based on Engineer Yang’s appearance, he seems like a casual person. He had stubble on his chin and did not seem like someone who works in this field. Instead, the impression he gave was of someone who does art.
Engineer Chu was the youngest. He had a round face and looked like fresh dough.
Zi Yi greeted them. “Engineer Meng, Engineer Peng, Engineer Chang, Engineer Yang, Engineer Chu.”
The att.i.tudes of the several engineers were not warm. Instead, they were rather cold.
Engineer Peng asked, “Was the robot displayed in the robot exhibition on the fourth of this month really made by you?”
Zi Yi nodded her head. “Yes.”
Engineer Meng then said, “It’s good for young people to be skilled, but don’t forget that there is always someone who is better out there than you.”
