It"s another obnoxious chapter, but at least find solace in the fact that she realizes someone likes her by the next and last chapter. I"m sorry, but Ceng Yan"s nose is pathetic.
Also PLOT TWIST THAT WE ALL KNEW WAS COMING~ Otherwise, why would Ceng Yan be so brazen about his feelings instead of trying to suppress them like a typical “I can"t love you but I love you” troupe ? –> Literally me rn.
Chapter 5
I ran over to Ceng Yan"s place and rushed in without knocking on the door.
Ceng Yan was sitting in front of the desk, one hand covering his nose as he lowered his head to read something. When he heard the ruckus, he looked up. When he saw that it was me, he immediately stood up and grabbed another book from the bookshelf behind him and used it to cover up whatever was on the table.
I couldn"t help but jeer, "I always knew you liked to read, but I never knew you liked to act this much!"
He looked at me and hmphed. "You"re awfully stupid."
When I heard this, I became unhappy. "If you say that about me anymore, I"ll hope that you nosebleed forever!"
Ceng Yan glanced at me and looked away in an extremely disdainful manner.
I was so angry!
I rushed over and tugged on the front lapel of his clothes as I violently shook him back and forth. "Ceng Yan, let me ask you something. Actually, Liu Heng fell in love with ME at first sight, right? He actually came to propose to me, right?"
Ceng Yan glanced at me again and lowered his head. I could vaguely see bits of red emerge from between thehis fingers that were currently pinching his nose.
He had so much blood…
"He proposed to second sister Ceng."
I replied, "But I think I"m the second sister Ceng he"s talking about!"
Ceng Yan took out a handkerchief and wiped off the blood. Then, he coolly remarked, "You"re Xin Li."
I was speechless.
He said what now? Xin??? How so how so…
I said, "What Xin Li?"
He said, "Your blood-related father is surnamed Xin."
I was thrown off. "Didn"t my blood-related dad die a long time ago?"
Ceng Yan hmphed. "He"s still alive. I have ordered people to go find him."
I had a bit of a delayed reaction.
No wonder there were so many bailiffs and detective type people going in and out of his room. It turned out…he was helping me find my father.
"When… did this happen?" I mumbled.
That"s weird, my heart felt really uneasy.
"Recently." His answer was very casual and unruffled.
I took in a deep breath and asked him, "What are you planning to do?"
He looked at me and said, "I will let you acknowledge your relations and go back to your family."
Was he forcing me out?
I said, "My mother will hate to part with me!"
Without hesitating, he said, "No, your mother agreed that you should go back to your father. I will buy a house with a courtyard for you and your father to live in. It"s very close so your mother won"t really miss you."
I was a little sad.
"Ceng Yan, I won"t argue with you about second sister Ceng marrying instead of me. I"m hungry, I"m going to go find something to eat!" When I finished speaking, I turned to leave.
However, Ceng Yan suddenly grabbed onto me.
"Xin Li, you can hide for awhile, but you can"t hide forever. One day you would have to return to your real father and live with him."
I was genuinely sad. How come Ceng Yan disliked me this much?!
I looked up into Ceng Yan"s eyes. My nose was sore as I asked him, "Ceng Yan, do you hate me this much? From a young age and even until now, you"ve never allowed me to call you older brother. When I sneak out and play, you will starve me by every means. It was really hard for someone to come propose to me, but you won"t let me marry anyone. You"ll only allow your blood-related sister to marry someone. Fine, I can wait awhile more, but how come you"re kicking me out of your family now? Ceng Yan, do you hate me this much?"
Ceng Yan looked back at me and frowned.
"Xin Li…" After just saying my name, he stopped.
Then, I saw his blood gushing out…
I wiped at my tears, feeling it was extremely strange.
How come the moment he glanced at me, he would nosebleed?
