Due to the great influx of citizens arriving in the capitol for the festival has caused the capitol to overflow with people. The capitol was having less and less s.p.a.ce to accommodate the citizens and the inns were booked solid until the festival is over. Because of that, some citizens camped outside the palace until the actual day of the event. Many of those who planned to attend the Palace festivals donated money, crops, rice, and vegetables hoping to gain favors and get noticed by the palace. With the amount of food and supplies donated to the palace, the King had more than enough to feed the people attending the palace event.
Facing the main palace entrance, the entire left side was torn down and renovated while the right side remained the same. The Royal"s Pavilion was built next to the gate wall near the main entrance facing forward towards the city two feet higher than all the other pavilions. Surrounded on the side of the Royal Pavilion and in front are other pavilions for the ministers, upper elite cla.s.s and their family. Their pavilions have tables and chairs included while the pavilions for the commoners only have tables.
Due to having limited resource with the time constraint, chairs were not made for them so they will have to sit on the floor. The table was built low enough for sitting level. Behind the stage and on the sides are rolls and rolls of pavilions for commoners, with each pavilion holding ten families.
Within a flash, the annual fall festival arrived. People put away their work to do nothing but celebrate this joyous occasion. Facing the main entrance, the entire left side was nicely reconstructed and decorated beautifully.
The citizens attending the event, except those who camped out, came early to settle down on a spot. It was not until almost noon that the King, Mua Mong and his wife arrived to their designated area. By this time, the ministers and upper elite cla.s.s had already arrived with their family and took a spot around the main Royal Family"s Pavilion.
Talented people come perform their talents, hoping to promote themselves. Some daughters also signed up to go perform their talents using the event platform to attract the royal family. Some families do not care if they don"t attract the Royal Family. They bring their children around hoping to at least catch the attention of someone wealthy.
The list of talents was long, a whole day does not seem long enough for all the entertainers to perform.
A little past noon, the palace maids and servants rolled carts after carts full of snacks, food, and drinks. The maids and servants go through one pavilion at a time making sure everyone has food and drinks on their table. Mua Kong has not arrived yet. People were feeling antsy waiting for the most important person to arrive, Mua Kong.
Pa Chee wore the most eye catching dress, bright red with lots of gold colored designs and gold jewelries. She wanted to go for the bold look, eye catching. She felt pretty good about her chances as the King had mentioned her name to Prince Mua Kong before. Plus, she also got rid of the obstacle between her and Mua Kong without leaving a trace of evidence behind. After three years,
Pa Chee felt pretty good that no one knows of what happened at the inn three years ago. Pa Chee felt so confident in herself that she also signed up to perform a dance on stage along with some of the dancers she hired to support her. After the dance, Pa Chee also planned to play a flute song and verse some poetry. Her goal was to perform at a much later time after Mua Kong had arrived displaying all her talents.
Those whose food was served already, started snacking as they watched the performance. Although people looked like they were watching the performance, their minds were anxious of when Prince Mua Kong will arrive. His Palace is a little down south, farther than Prince Mua Mong"s palace that only took twenty minutes by carriage. So they expected him to arrive a little later.
An hour past noon, just when the King and Mua Mong were wondering if Mua Kong is coming or when he is going to arrive, Mua Kong"s carriage arrived to the main gate entrance. The sound of carriage arrival caused everyone to stop what they are doing and turned their attention to look at the carriage that just came to a complete stop.
Seeing the carriage stopped moving, a guard rushed up to the carriage to open the carriage door for Prince Mua Kong. When the guard pulled the door wide open, Mua Kong came out of the carriage carrying a small lump on his broad chest and shoulder. The lump seemed to be nicely covered completely by a blanket and he seemed to be extra careful with his steps getting off the carriage.
As Mua Kong made his way towards the Royal Pavilion, people gazed with wondrous eyes what Mua Kong is carrying? Is he carrying a gift? If so, what is the gift? And who is for?
The King was also curious of what is the lump underneath the blanket on his chest and shoulder.
While everyone was curious about the lump, Mua Kong arrived upon the Royal Pavilion and slowly sat down on the chair reserved for him.
