Mua Kong walked over to Hli Ja but he just stood there watching her while he thought of many different ways to approach her. Hli Ja thought she sensed Mua Kong standing behind her, why isn"t he saying anything. She paused what she was doing and turned around looking curious, she asked, "Do you need something?"Mua Kong glanced away from Hli Ja and uttered, "Mm.." After a moment of hesitation, he turned back to face her and added, "Would you come with me if I asked you?"
Hli Ja was shocked at what she heard. She knew this day would come so she prepared herself but she did not expect him to ask her to go with him too. Her face stiffen and she looked straight at Mua Kong, "No, I"ll stay here and accompany grandma. You know where we are, you are always welcomed to come visit."
Feeling a little dejected, although he knew she probably would not come, hearing from the person itself is different, "Mm.. you"re right. I have to leave soon. I"ll go notify grandma," Mua Kong walked towards the hut.
The elderly woman was bagging dried herbal leaves and putting them away. Mua Kong step inside the hut and saw the elderly woman standing by the stove. "Grandma." The elderly woman turned to face Mua Kong. She knew what he was going to say just from the look on his face.
The elderly woman gave a small smile and nodded her head, "I"ll have Hli Ja accompany you out of the mountains."
"Mm.. Thank you for taking care of me and letting me stay here to heal. I"ll come back to properly thank you. I have business to go take care of first." Of course, he has business. He has to go back and find who hired a.s.sa.s.sins to kill him.
Scene six:
That morning, Hli Ja accompany Mua Kong down the mountain. "Wait a moment, can you take me to the place where you saw me? I need to scout the nearby area to see if my person is still there," Mua Kong said to Hli Ja. He wanted to make sure that his personal bodyguard"s body is not there and see if there is any evidence left behind. Mua Kong trusted his bodyguard"s ability to take care of himself.
"You have important people with you on that day?" Hli Ja"s body stiffen.
"Mmm.. my personal bodyguard. Don"t worry, he"s more skilled than me. He"s definitely alive. I just want to make sure that his body isn"t there and maybe I could find some clues about the a.s.sa.s.sins."
After hearing this, Hli Ja felt relieved, "You still owe me. You haven"t teach me how to fight yet. Don"t forget." Hli Ja said sternly to Mua Kong.
"He he.. I"ll come back after I take care of some things. I won"t forget." Mua Kong chuckled as she said this to Hli Ja.
At this point, they arrived at the area where Hli Ja saw Mua Kong. The place was cleaned out. He hurriedly traced the area back to where he got separated from his bodyguard. There was not a single dead body lying around. He was not sure if it was the work of his bodyguard or the a.s.sa.s.sins. However, why his bodyguard has not gone looking for him? Or his bodyguard did but was not able to find him? Many thoughts flashed through his mind.
Seeing Mua Kong looked like he is thinking of many things Hli Ja asked, "What"s wrong?"
Mua Kong turned his head to face Hli Ja, he replied, "Nothing, let"s go down a little farther from here and you can go back. I promised, I"ll come back to get you and grandma after I settled some things."
Hli Ja remained silent. She was not sure if she wanted to go back to human society. Life would not be the same again without her sister. Also, she was not sure if she will blend in well with the rest of the people.
Not getting any response from Hli Ja, Mua Kong can kind of guessed what was taxing her heart at this moment, he added, "I won"t let you suffered. Trust me."
By this time, it was already late in the afternoon. Mua Kong looked at the position of the sun in the skies, he turned to Hli Ja, "Let"s part here. I don"t want you to get back so late into the night if possible."
"It"s ok. I"m used to the mountains." She replied.
"No! The mountains can be dangerous," Mua Kong cut her off.
"Mm.. Ok. I"ll watch you go first and I"ll hurry back."
After a moment of studying Hli Ja, Mua Kong turn around and sped off. Hli Ja looked at Mua Kong"s back disappearing in the distant. She finally turned around and went back deeper into the mountains.
