Pa Chee noticed Chue Yi and a guard standing next to a carriage. She can pretty much guessed that they are here to accompany Hli Ja as Mua Kong is not home. She walked right past Chue Yi, sneered at Chue Yi and the guard, and made her way into the store with her two maids.Inside the store, Pa Chee was surveying for Hli Ja whom she has never met or saw before. She is just going to rely on her deduction skill to narrow down who Hli Ja is. She had heard from her father that Prince Mua Kong picked the woman off from the street, a woman of no origin so the woman must have a commoner look.
After surveying the room a couple times, the only person who caught her attention is a woman who looked like an angel descendant and radiated an aura of a royal princess no matter at what distance and angle she observed from. Pa Chee cannot help but keep gazing at Hli Ja and at one point was mesmerized by her behaviors and look.
Pa Chee thought to herself how could I have not seen a royal that looked like her before. Has that woman attended any events in the palace? Who is her father? Could she be another compet.i.tor? As Pa Chee was lost in her thoughts she saw Hli Ja handed a few fabrics to the maid gave the maid some instructions. The maid went to ring up the fabrics and took it out. Pa Chee followed behind the maid and stood by the entrance to see where the maid headed to. It is then that she saw the maid went up to the carriage and gave Chue Yi a few bags of fabrics to put away.
Pa Chee quenched her fists and glared the woman who took her man away as jealousy took over her. Of course, how could she be so stupid. Any women who gets picked off from the street would look so exceptionally beautiful, eye catching for wealthy men to take them home. Why would she be so stupid to think that Hli Ja looked ordinary? How was she going to compete for someone who looked like an angel descend from the heavens? Her heart is filled with rage not sure how she should approach her enemy with the servants and maids around to see.
Scene seventeen:
Almost two weeks gone by, a carriage arrived at the front gate one early evening. The carriage door opened and a man rushed out. The servant opened the door and saw their Lord had arrived a day early! He was in such a rush that he did not greet anyone. He went straight to Hli Ja"s room but she was nowhere to be found. He yelled for a maid and asked where she was. The maid told him that she is in the hot spring house bathing. Before the maid could even finished, he rushed out to the back.
Mua Kong stood right before the bathhouse hesitated to enter. After some internal struggles, he proceeded to enter the bathhouse. He quietly opened the door, walked past the shelves of towels and robes and parted the curtain veils but on the other side was Hli Ja reaching her hands to part the curtain as well. She had just got out of the shower and still in her robes.
Both of them looked surprised. Mua Kong did not expect Hli Ja to be standing on the other side of the curtains and Hli Ja didn"t expect Mua Kong to arrive a day early. Mua Kong rushed up to Hli Ja and hugged her tightly. He missed her so much and he was constantly afraid that the people in the main palace will find troubles for her. He did not even feel this uptight when she was still living with her Grandma. He come and go at peace then but he did not feel the same when she is at his home.
Feeling a little suffocated, she mumbled, "It"s hard to breath," as she tried to gasp for air.
Afraid that he might have hurt her, he loosen his embrace. He looked at her, gently ran his fingers through her wet hair and cupped her cheek with his hand. Hli Ja lightly grabbed onto the hand that"s on her cheek, she muttered, "Thank you for coming back." As soon as she finished, he leaned in closer and gently kissed Hli Ja"s lips and whispered, "I missed you."
Hli Ja wrapped her arms around his neck and gaze at him. After a moment of studying how he has been, she replied, "I missed you too," and drew herself closer to him for an embrace. After a moment of embracing each other, Hli Ja asked, "Do you want to bathe to wash off your fatigue?"
"Mm.."
The next day, Mua Kong had to report the progress to the King at the main palace but spent the entire afternoon with Hli Ja.
A whole month gone by, Mua Kong always tried to make time to be with Hli Ja and goes off to work in his study den when she had gone off to bed. They spend their day talking and idling around the palace or out of town sightseeing. He did not want to concern her with his problems so he always never talk about his work with her even though she probed from time to time. He did not even tell her about his father denying her as his lawful wife until he conquered the entire continent. She may not know the whole details but she at least knew that his father is unhappy with her because he has not brought her greet anyone at the main Palace. Even when she asked Chue Yi, he kept quiet let alone asking Mua Kong. However, the thing you do for the one you love, you stick next to them and believe in them completely.
