Chapter 1379: Tianxin the Scapegoat (2)
Before the private doctor could finish giving his a.s.sessment, Wales had already guessed the outcome.
His eyes fell on the television. He did not have any medical knowledge.
He could tell from how Ye Tianxin handled the entire surgical procedures at the operating table that she was very experienced and professional.
Wales felt a.s.sured that this mysterious Asian lady did not know his background when he collapsed on stage. He was glad that under such circ.u.mstances, she made the right decision for him and ignored what the others were saying.
“I owe this lady a big favor.”
The older Wales was, the more afraid he was of death.
It was good to be alive.
Only by being alive could he enjoy his wealth.
When he was young, he spent all his time working hard for money. However, he was never able to enjoy his wealth during his youth.
Now that he finally had the time to enjoy the fruits of his labor, he had already grown old.
“Yes, professionally speaking, you owe this young lady your life.”
Wales wondered if he should do something for Ye Tianxin.
He did not like to owe anyone a favor.
He thought about if the young lady needed money.
“Mr. Wales, I have drafted the doc.u.ment you asked me to.”
The lawyer handed Wales a doc.u.ment. Wales skimmed through the contents of the doc.u.ment. The lawyer had written down all the details as he instructed.
The pre-nuptial agreement was very useful during these times.
Although he had no lack of money, they were all hard-earned money. He could not possibly squander them away for no reason.
“Ask her to come in.”
The lawyer led Mrs. Wales into the room. Mrs. Wales did not have any makeup on, and her face was cleanly scrubbed. Her dress was crumpled as if she had not had a change of clothes for days. She wore a worried look on her face.
“Darling, you’re awake. I was so worried.”
Wales looked at the woman, trying to suppress the smirk on his face.
Everyone thought that he knew her after she became an actress.
That was not the truth.
He had first met her at a hotel.
Back then, she looked very innocent and simple.
“I have a doc.u.ment here. Just sign on it.”
The lawyer handed the doc.u.ment to Mrs. Wales.
Mrs. Wales took a look at the doc.u.ment and turned to Wales in astonishment. “You want to divorce me?”
“Yes, I want to divorce you.”
“Why?”
Mrs. Wales did not expect that Wales would want to divorce her.
Wales turned to look at his lawyer who flipped through the doc.u.ments and took out a photo in between the pages. He showed it to Mrs. Wales, expressionless.
Mrs. Wales looked at the photo in horror.
“You had someone following me the whole time?”
“My dear wife… I mean, my ex-wife now… I was only concerned about your safety. I merely sent someone to protect you in secret.”
Mrs. Wales was shaking all over. This old man had always been so devious.
How could someone be such a pervert?
She felt like killing him at this instant.
She almost did kill him to inherit all his a.s.sets.
She did not care about the pre-nuptial agreement.
“Once you sign this, we can part on good terms. Otherwise, I will call the police and tell them that you tried to murder me. Make your choice.”
This was clearly a threat.
Faced with no other choice, Mrs. Wales could only give in and sign the divorce papers.
Why did Wales not die?
This would’ve never happened if he had died, but he had survived instead.
“I’ll sign on it.”
It was for a luxurious apartment and five million in cash.
