Chapter 434: The Person Who Despised the Ruler of a Country
Although Mo Kongyuan boasted and said that his courtyard had one of the best views in the capital, Ling Chuxi was still greatly shocked when she saw it for herself.
The dark green lake waters that looked blue reflected the skies just like a clear mirror. It was so clear that there was not even a trace of impurity in it. A small bridge meandered along the surface of the lake and there was an unspeakable exquisiteness to it. There was a waterfall not far away with water rus.h.i.+ng down. In the midst of the rising mist, there was a richly decorated jade pavilion and it was like paradise on earth. Such absolutely beautiful scenery could not even be seen in the palace courtyard.
It was very hard to imagine that there was actually such a beautiful place in the suburbs of the capital. But she had not actually heard of this place before.
“Master is back. Master is back.” There was a surprised cheer from the courtyard as both of them approached. A few servants who were dressed in plain attire welcomed them.
There was a chill in Ling Chuxi’s heart. These few servants were dressed in plain attire and had respectful demeanors, yet they had cultivation of Battle Qi Level 8 and above.
“Nothing happened at home these few days, right?” Mo Kongyuan asked with his hands clasped behind his back.
“No. There were only a few guests that came yesterday. They waited for Master till night, but left when they saw that you were not back yet. I have asked for someone to inform them earlier on that master has come back.” The servant answered.
“Oh, got it.” Mo Kongyuan nodded without taking it seriously and walked inside.
“How is it? My courtyard is not too bad, right?” Mo Kongyuan led Ling Chuxi inside while saying triumphantly.
“Yes, not bad. I have not seen such a beautiful courtyard before.” Ling Chuxi said frankly.
Mo Kongyuan was like a child and his smile was brilliant like a flower after hearing Ling Chuxi’s praise.
Not long after, both of them had entered the courtyard, a dense crisp sound of horse hooves drifted from outside. A few figures entered the courtyard and caught up very quickly.
“Miss Ling!”
“Chuxi!”
“Chuxi!”
“Chuxi!”
As they approached, the few of them had wanted to bow to Mo Kongyuan. But when they saw Ling Chuxi beside him, they were greatly shocked and exclaimed in surprise.
“Your Majesty! Yichen, Big Brother Fu, Baili!” Ling Chuxi was shocked silly too. She never would have thought that she would actually meet the emperor and Yichen and the rest here.
“Greetings, Mister Mo.” After the shock, the emperor only remembered his discourteousness and immediately showed his respect to Mo Kongyuan. He also used the formality between cultivators.
“Speak. Why are you here to look for me this time?” Mo Kongyuan’s expression practically did not look as if he was overwhelmed by favor in the slightest. He waved his hand casually and said to the emperor. There was even a trace of despise between his brows? Ling Chuxi blinked as she looked at this scene before her. ‘Did I see it wrongly? Is it an illusion?’
“Mister Mo. I have originally come to see you to ask for you to lend a helping hand to rescue Ling Chuxi. But it looks like my trip is already in vain.” Facing this att.i.tude from Mo Kongyuan, the emperor was not the least bit angry, and said while putting up a smiling face.
“Then that means everything is all right now. If everything’s all right then you may go back.” Mo Kongyuan impatiently ordered for the guests to leave. Ling Chuxi was sure now, that Mo Kongyuan absolutely despised the emperor. Who was he really? How dare he despise the ruler of a country? And furthermore the emperor actually put on a careful smiling appearance.
“Then, I will take my leave first.” The emperor said respectfully.
Ling Chuxi was further shocked when she saw the att.i.tude of the emperor. What was Mo Kongyuan’s real status, that even the emperor was reverent and respectful to him? But why had she never heard of this person’s existence before this?
The emperor left under the protection of a few of the guards who followed him. Only Ling Yichen, Fu Chengyu and Baili Han stayed behind.
