Chapter 276: Hero Saving the Beauty
Lan Xinyu knew from the start that this attack was very strong one. And due to the concentrated Battle Qi as a result of the Heart Refining Mantra, this attack was definitely stronger by a few times more than the earlier attack. She could only use the golden whip to weave out a golden light net in front of herself as a means of defense.
“Clang, clang, clang!” the sword and soft yet tough golden whip made sounds like knives and axes clas.h.i.+ng against each other. Everyone saw a few golden rays flying out and all around as the golden whip was once again shredded by the sword till it was in pieces.
“Hmph! This time, I want to see if you are still so lucky as to be able to dodge this attack.” E Shulan’s malicious voice transmitted over to Lan Xinyu’s ears.
Lan Xinyu gritted her teeth and concentrated all her Battle Qi into the last remaining section of the golden whip that was still in her hand as she tried to lash against the small sword.
The soft, tough whip clashed against the small sword and an explosive sound like the m.u.f.fled roar of thunder rang out. Under its great strength, Lan Xinyu was sent flying off the stage, falling to the ground.
There were audible cold sighs in the crowd. “She still lost after all. That sword should be a treasured sword bestowed to E Shulan by the Deity Temple. It is truly an amazing weapon.”
According to the rules of the compet.i.tion, as long as one’s body leaves the fighting ring, it was considered a lost for that person. However, everyone could see that if it were not for the a.s.sistance of the sword and the Heart Refining Mantra, the final outcome of this match would have been very hard to predict.
As the crowd looked at Lan Xinyu who had fallen, they suddenly yelped in surprise, “Be careful!”
The exquisite, small son sword did not actually stop, but flew forward even faster as it rushed toward Lan Xinyu’s face. Seeing how the golden whip was cut into pieces earlier on, anyone could easily imagine what would happen if this sword actually struck Lan Xinyu’s face. Even if she could keep her life, her face would definitely be thoroughly disfigured.
“Such ruthless intentions!” exclaimed everyone watching as they felt a chill in their hearts. They never would have thought that this gentle looking Deity’s Servant Girl was actually so vicious when she attacked.
Ling Chuxi also did not expect that E Shulan actually still intended to attack so maliciously even after obtaining victory. Just as she was about to get up and save Lan Xinyu, she saw a st.u.r.dy figure flying over even quicker than she was as it extended one hand and caught Lan Xinyu whilst the gleam of a sword appeared in its other hand and deflected the small sword, sending it flying away. The small sword arched into an odd curve, like a swallow returning to its nest as it returned into the hilt of the sword in E Shulan’s hand.
It was only at this moment that everyone clearly saw who the person who swooped in was.
“Baili Han!” exclaimed the crowd in surprise. That’s right, it was Baili Han. The most favored partic.i.p.ant to emerge champion in this compet.i.tion, Baili Han.
“Are, you all right?” asked Baili Han as he looked at Lan Xinyu.
“I, I’m fine,” stuttered Lan Xinyu in response. Looking at Baili Han’s gaze that was full of concern, Lan Xinyu felt a little fl.u.s.tered and found herself stumbling over her words.
“Oh?” expressed Baili Han in response as he looked at her hesitantly, seemingly a little dissatisfied.
Seeing his dissatisfied expression, Lan Xinyu instantly understood that he had thought she was making fun of him by imitating him and thus was feeling unhappy.
“I, I am not imitating you, I, I am just, I am just… Oh, forget it. I’m not talking to you anymore. I’m fine. Thank you,” said Lan Xinyu as she blushed. She had immediately tried to explain herself but instead ended up speaking in an even more muddled manner. Therefore, she decided to just stop talking and quickly wrested herself free herself from Baili Han’s grasp and ran away as if she had done something wrong.
When Baili Han saw Lan Xinyu’s anxious look, he knew that she was not making fun of him and a baffling sense of delight bloomed in his heart.
“She, had already lost. Why did you, still attack, her?” asked Baili Han as he turned around, his expression turning ice cold as he stared at E Shulan.
“Sorry, I didn’t manage to hold back,” said E Shulan unrepentantly. Although she was apologizing, her perfunctory tone allowed anyone who had ears to hear know that there was not even the least bit of sincerity in her so-called apology!
