Siana

Chapter 72

The other three women in the room kept mum. They tried to say something but were too scared to. Elisabeth was in a dilemma: on one side was her profession on the other was that person. She couldn"t afford that woman and all she could do was to carry on with the plan.

Thus, with a newfound determination she started her speech,

"Do you think just recording us or making conjectures about us is enough to shift your blame on us? Do you think you can play us on your fingers!?"

She stared maliciously at Sia with her unconcealed hate. If not for this woman"s craftiness she wouldn"t be in such a nerve-wrecking state, trembling for the fear of her future. If before her hate was unfounded and stemmed only from the words of that woman, now she sincerely hated this doctor with all her being.

Looking at Sia"s smug face she was even further enraged,

"What the h*ck are you smiling at!?"

In contrast, Sia continued smiling lightly and chose not to answer her question. Instead she felt like infuriating even further,

"Your image miss Elisabeth, keep your precious image."

Before Elisabeth could flare up even more, the doors to the room opened to reveal two men in professional black suits. One of them had a head full of white hair while the other looked young and suave.

The young man looked across the room and stopped his gaze on Sia. When she noticed his gaze they both gave each other a smile and a nod. The man walked to her side and took the sit next to her. He then lifted his briefcase and gave some doc.u.ments to Siana. Sia skimmed over the papers and her smile started growing wider by the minute. This sight and the chairman"s gradually darkening face made Elisabeth"s uneasiness increase by a notch. Bracing herself for anything to come she tried to break the suffocating silence,

"Chairman Coleman, this ..."

"Shut up!" Chairman Coleman interrupted her straight away.

He had been enjoying his day when he had got a call from the best lawyer in the country who straight away called him to the court. If it wasn"t for his alibi and really not being involved in the case whatsoever he would probably have already lost his job. Just looking at him sitting and chatting to the young doctor already made his heart jump in fright. Who didn"t know about him in their country? He was well known for being picky with his clients: he didn"t even care about protecting the rich and famous, he would only protect those he considered worthy. And despite this, he was still one of the very few lawyers who had never lost a case since the start of his career.

More importantly, who didn"t know about Dr Siana Illes in the medical community? Not only was she a remarkable surgeon but also a world-known scientist. Her lab had been contributing to the development of neuroscience by unimaginable levels since she was only 19. Moreover, she was better known for her att.i.tude despite her skills: she was one of the top 15 neurosurgeons in the world while being so young and yet she was so humble and respectful towards everyone.

And here she was, being falsely accused by some unknown manager for no rhyme or reason. He had already more or less guessed the situation, and already knew that, to begin with, none of the required procedures had been carried out correctly. Afterwards, the doctor in the Northern hospital had handed them a fabricated medical report, that was easily discovered because of the back up information they had. This all smelled fishy but as if this wasn"t even enough, he got to know that this Elisabeth went to further lengths and tried to revoke her qualifications.

Taking a look at the women in the room he couldn"t help but think: did these women really take Siana Illes as your average woman who could be toyed with? This was going to be the death of him if he didn"t deal with the problem fast enough.

So, before attorney Clare could talk, he invited himself into the conversation straight away,

"Dr Illes, I am sincerely sorry for the incompetence of my subordinates. I will a.s.sist Attorney Clare to get to the bottom of this whole spectacle and deal appropriately with the people involved in it. I know that you are extremely busy and have lives to save so I won"t be keeping you here. I do promise though to give you answers by the end of the week. Hope this works with you."

In her heart Sia started admiring this person and his quick wittedness. He was truly worthy of being the chairperson of the Complaints and Improvements department: he knew exactly how to deal with tricky situations.

Though she really wanted to stay back and get to know firsthand what exactly was going on, this person was right as she really had to go back and treat her patients. He couldn"t waste her time on such shameful and despicable people who had nothing to do but to scheme against others.

"Thank you, sir, for understanding. I do hope to get updates on the situation though," she threw an apathetic glance at Elisabeth and directed her next sentence to her, "And I do hope that those in the wrong will receive appropriate care."

What could Chairman Coleman do but nod his head profusely and agree with her readily:

"That"s not even a question: with Mr Clare here there won"t be any problems whatsoever."

"Siana you can rest a.s.sured. Just do your job and leave my job to me," Mr. Clare winked at Sia. With him here, he would make sure they pay up or else how was he going to face Sia or the devil behind her for the rest of his life?

It had been a while since he was so nervous and tense: after all, though he was one of the closest friends of the Devil, even he couldn"t guarantee his own safety as the matter involved their lady boss. His life was at stake here, for f*ck"s sake.

That guy only lost it when she was involved in the picture and now these people were dumb enough to not only try to malign her but by doing so provoked the Devil.

He could only say one thing to those people: RIP.

Sia didn"t stay any longer and went back to the hospital. She was confident in Mr. Clare: not only did she get to know him years ago with the introduction from King, but also got to know recently that they were close friends. The friend of the sly King would definitely not be a helpless sheep, so she was not concerned about his skills at all.

However, she really could not remember who she had offended lately: she could tell that Elisabeth was not the real mastermind as her initial hatred was undoubtedly superficial. However, by the end, even an outsider could tell that her hate had become genuine, which could most probably mean that she wasn"t faking in the beginning and indeed became more hateful by the end.

This was why she was so interested in the whole matter: a manager in the complaints and improvements department was not exactly a small time worker. Thus, the person manipulating the situation should be someone higher up in the social ladder to be able to make her work so hard.

The question was: who exactly was it?
