As Cain and his men were hiding themselves from their enemies in hopes of finding loopholes in their protection or ways to deal with them, several people were having sleepless nights at different parts of the world. Will was among those.
He was currently leaning on an armchair in his hotel room, swirling the whiskey gla.s.s in his left hand. He was holding his phone in his other hand staring at it with complicated feelings apparent in his eyes. He continuously furrowed his eyebrows, then relaxed them, then furrowed them again and then once again relaxed. Without him knowing, this had been going on for a few hours now. One thing he was also unaware of was the fact that he had already emptied a bottle of whiskey while in deep thought.
He felt conflicted but he didn"t want to be defeated. He was able to win the first time, and he would win the second time. There was nothing wrong with his plan and it was the ideal way to proceed. All he needed to do was give that person a call or just text him... All he needed to do was act... And then all he would need to do would be to wait...
The hesitation in his heart had started to slowly dissipate giving place to the determination that now flashed in his eyes. He had never been indecisive and he wouldn"t be such this time as well.
He stood up and approached the window like he usually did when dealing with something important. Gathering all his thoughts he finally dialled a string of numbers that according to norms should not have existed.
His first call wasn"t answered but as he had already set his mind on what to do he dialled a second time. This time the man on the other side picked up his phone and hung it only after an hour of heated discussions. Throughout the conversation the man couldn"t hold back his excitement unlike Will who regarded the matter seriously yet extremely cold heartedly.
Another person in Ribekia having a hard time sleeping was Sia. She knew that Cain was dealing with a dangerous business so she didn"t mindlessly bother him and instead chose to trust his decisions. Yet it was hard not to worry which was why her mind just refused to shut off.
Realising that it was futile for her to try and sleep off her worries she decided to tire herself until falling asleep. Remembering Cain"s test, she decided to give it a try and look for information regarding "Black Lily". However, rather than searching for the perpetrators on the photo she chose to look for the information on the victims of the bombarding incident that had involved Mr Jason"s brother, Jake.
Those files were quite well protected as it took her a while to break through the security. As she already knew, among the victims was also Mr. Jason"s brother. Other than him and his men there were also a lot of subordinates of Mr. Jason that were killed that day.
She continued reading through the forensic reports on the dead bodies. According to those reports many of the men were killed even before the bomb was set off that could be indicative of a fight that took place before the bombarding. According to the source, the bombarding had taken place in one of the major residences of the Herondale family where the head of the family usually resided.
However, she discovered many dubious points that required further a.n.a.lysis. First of all, what seemed extremely weird to her was that some of the victims apparently had no remnants left thus the postmortem forensic a.n.a.lysis were deemed impossible. There were 3 people, including Jake Herondale, with no traces left that were declared to have been too close to the bomb resulting in their bodies being completely destroyed. Though this was a plausible explanation it was also one of the most dubious parts as the probability of such an event happening withe three people involved was almost non-existent.
However, even if this matter was put aside, what was even more questionable was the ease with which the group was able to plant the bomb in the very centre of the building. It was obvious that there was a traitor of Herondales among the group that had a high security clearance for being able to access the inner parts of the main mansion.
The first suspect would naturally be Jake Herondale, however, Sia somehow wasn"t convinced with such deduction. The so called "perpetrator" was just too easy to identify for it to be the truth. She was more inclined to believe that the traitor was someone else who was deliberately pointing fingers at Jake Herondale. However, this was exactly the point where she got stuck: if it was the case then finding that person wouldn"t be easy as Jason Herondale would have had definitely thought of the same thing as her and had still found no clues.
On the other hand, it was possible that Jake was really the mastermind behind all this and he had deliberately left the obvious clues pointing at him to throw everyone off of their guards. If this was the case he could be considered either courageous or just crazy. Whatever it was, the puzzle was surely not an easy one to solve.
Moreover, who were the other two people and what was their connection to the incident?

While contemplating on all of these possibilities Sia"s headache started to worsen. She wasn"t sleepy but knew that had to sleep to be able to wake up early, so she tried her best to do so though without much of a success. While lying on the bed, she was continuously thinking of ways to crack the case which didn"t allow her to shut her brain at all.
The moment she was able to take her mind off of the "Black lily" case she would start thinking about the events involving Elisabeth and the farce to frame her. Then, when she ignored this, she would start thinking about the new "partner" she made as a hacker. The next moment she would think about the surgery that had to be performed on conjoined twins, a case of life of death that she did not know how to solve.
With all those worries on her mind she ended up not even winking an eye the whole night much like the Underworld Lion that was on the other side of the ocean.
He was to fly the next day and check the situation for himself, as in this case he much trusted his keen perception rather than the lengthy reports presented by his subordinates. The Dragon"s actions had been nothing but strange lately making him seem way too all over the place despite them vying for the same position.
He was constantly receiving reports on Cain"s men"s random movements and this was exactly what angered and worried him the most: the fact that he could not read his opponent"s actions.
What was he up to? Why was he scattering his forces instead of preparing for their final battle? Did he have such confidence to win against him? Or did he just underestimate him? Or was this a chance for him to strike the Dragon"s forces once and for all?
How should he take this situation? What was he to do?
