After Gray and Isamu waited for around seven minutes, a brown-haired young boy was seen to be approaching the reception lobby and inquires something with Shael regarding him being summoned downstairs.Shael simply beams as she directed the boy at Gray who is sitting on a nearby bench.
The boy thanked her and proceeded to make his way to Gray and Isamu"s spot at where they are sitting.
"Excuse me." The boy greets the Elf. "I heard from Lady Shael about you giving a letter."
Gray eyed at the young boy, taking a closer inspection at his features.
The boy has brown hair and a youthful look of a young adult. He is clad in a leather cuira.s.s that covers the chest of his long-sleeved mail s.h.i.+rt. He wears gloves, leggings and boots made out of leather as well.
"Ethan Mills, I presume?" Gray asks the boy in clarification as he stood up from the bench.

"You presume correctly." The boy, now confirmed as Ethan himself, responds with a nod.
"Good," Gray responded with approval as he took out the sealed note from Deliah and hands it over to him. "The letter came from your mother in Oakwood, Deliah Mills as she personally requested me to give it to you."
"I see." Ethan smiles with grat.i.tude. "Thank you for going through the troubles kind sir. I"ve been waiting for this letter for days."
"My pleasure." Gray returns the recognition with also a smile of his own.
Ethan wasted no time in unsealing the letter as he immediately read his mother"s message.
After a few minutes, Ethan finishes reading the letter as he looks at Gray with a grateful expression, much to the Elf"s slight confusion.
"Y-you"re Gray Allister, am I correct?" Ethan asks him with a look of antic.i.p.ation.
"That"s my name, yes." Gray nods in agreement, a bit perplexed as he did not even mention his name to the human boy. "How do you know of me?"
Gray"s confusion instantly skyrocketed even further as the young boy slowly prostrates himself into the ground sincerely right in front of him.
"Huh, what in Agveyr"s blade has gotten into him all of a sudden?" Isamu who is currently sitting on the bench questions his fellow guild member"s actions while eating a loaf of bread that he got from his Inventory.
"I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Sir Gray," Ethan replied with utmost grat.i.tude. "I have read my mother"s letter and found out that you have saved my father from the brink of death. For that, you have my eternal recognition."
"Oh, so that"s why." Gray thought as he realizes why Ethan is overreacting in this kind of manner.
"Think nothing of it." The Arcanist grins as he offered the young boy a hand for him to stand up. "I only did what is naturally right."
Ethan happily accepts Gray"s hand as he rises from the floor.
Isamu, having finished eating his snack, joined in with the conversation as he said to Ethan. "And let"s not forget about the fact that Gray here has risked his life by saving your village from some bandits who intent on invading Oakwood for their sick purposes."
"Wait, what!?" Ethan was flabbergasted by what the Cat-folk stated. "Invading Oakwood!? What do you mean?"
Isamu smirks as he tells Ethan about everything that transpired days ago at the Bandit Encampment. About how Gray devised a plan for the Cat-folk injure him so that he can showcase his falsified battle wounds while impersonating a bandit to fool the outlaws into thinking that high-leveled Warriors from the guild have come for them. The resulting deception causes the bandits to leave their Encampment out of fear from being hunted by the Warriors who they didn"t know are merely fabrications weaved by the Elf.
Indeed, Ethan was utterly at awe after hearing the story as he stared at Gray like the Elf with even more grat.i.tude than ever before.
"I…" Ethan"s voice trembles. "I don"t know what to say. It appears that you have done Oakwood a huge service, even if they… we didn"t realize it. On behalf of my home village, I thank you again."
"No problem." Gray answers with a smile. "It"s an honor to help."
"Of course, my eternal recognition wouldn"t cut it. I must at least give you something like a proper way of rewarding such n.o.ble acts." Ethan added as he strokes his chin on what to give the Elf.
"It"s fine, really." Gray insists but Ethan was having none of that.
After a short while, an idea suddenly struck inside the young warrior"s mind as he seemed to have remembered something. Ethan proceeded to open his Inventory and conjures an item from it.
"Here, Sir Gray," Ethan beholds some sort of necklace to him. "My party and I found this necklace at a dead body of an unfortunate adventurer inside the cave at the west where we performed our quest of eliminating giant monster spiders that have been infesting the place. After inspecting the item, we found out that it"s no use for us since the stats are more suitable for a Mage seemingly such as yourself. Instead of selling the item, I believe that you can put it to good use."
Item Received: (Uncommon Necklace)
Lvl Requirement: 14
Attribute Requirement: 30 Intelligence
Enchantments: +6 Intelligence, +20% Mana Regeneration.
"It"s a decent item," Gray replied with a thankful tone as he immediately equips the necklace. "I"ll gladly accept it then."
Ethan sincerely smiles with the Elf"s favorable response. Then, the boy opted to take the conversation"s direction in a personal stance.
"Since my mother has given this letter to you, perhaps she has unraveled the tale of how my father and I were not on good terms prior to me leaving the village, right?" Ethan asks the Elf.
Gray solely nods as he remembers Deliah telling him about it.
"Pa may be against me on becoming an esteemed Warrior and instead, wishes for me to spend the rest of my days in the peace of our home village, but he"s still my father nonetheless and I love him as his only son," Ethan spoke with pride and longing on his voice which has not gone unnoticed by Gray.
"It appears that you missed your family then." Gray crosses his arms in consultation. "And also, you are doing quite well yourself from what I see."
"Yes." Ethan nods enthusiastically. "Our last quest that I mentioned earlier has earned our group the favor of Sir Thardir himself. So, it will only be a matter of time until I get the promotion, hehe."
"Sir Thardir? Heh, impressive." Isamu commented from the sidelines with a teasing smirk. "But I"ll be getting that promotion first and climb my way to the very top, laddie."
"In your wildest dreams perhaps, cat." Ethan retorted at the Cat-folk with a playful grin of his own.
"Tsk, cheeky human brat." Isamu retains his smirk.
"Anyways," Gray said to Ethan as the two Warriors faced him. "I believe it"s about time that you visit your family perhaps. Your mother really misses you as to how she speaks to me about you."
"I"m not sure." Ethan ponders with a sad look and looks at the floor. "Pa might not be thrilled to see me though."
"Maybe," Gray stated. "But would you rather live for the rest of your life with a heavy heart of remorse between you and your father? I believe Eric only wants what"s best for you and seeing that you are living a good life, I"m sure he"ll be just as proud as your mother. After all, nothing beats the feeling of a father seeing that his own son has been living a gratified life."
"And I know my dad did." Gray added on his thoughts based on his personal experience, a sad smile gracing on his face as he remembered his good old man who he may never see again back on Earth.

"I… you"re right." Ethan smiles heartily as he looks up at Gray with renewed vigor. "I suppose it"s about time that I pay respects to my family and the very home village that I was born to in this world. Yes, I"ll be visiting them as soon as I"m available."
"Good to know." Gray nods with utmost approval at his decision. "I"m sure you still need some rest from your recent quest, so I"ll not be taking much of your time then. We"ll be taking our leave."
"Of course." Ethan respectfully bows at Gray. "Good journeys to you, Sir Gray."
"And to you as well, Ethan." Gray returns the gesture with a nod as he turns around to leave, with Isamu following him behind as he got up from the bench.
And with that, the pair of Elf and Cat-folk make their way out of the guild, now that their business has been concluded.
