Chapter 83

Now back at the Warrior"s Guild of Chadena, Shael, upon seeing the quartet arrive at the reception hall, immediately instructed them to proceed upstairs to the Guild Master"s Office as Malic himself wanted to hear their reports personally from them. Isamu nodded on behalf of his companions as they complied with the elven receptionist"s order. Froidan Benet, the Warrior lookout of the staircase leading to the fourth floor, expected their arrival as per instructions from the Guild Master himself. Without question, the young u003cVanguardu003e granted the four entry as he nodded in acknowledgment and gave them the way. Arriving at the door entrance leading to the office, Isamu took the lead and knocked on the door. "Enter." They all heard Malic"s voice from behind the entrance as the four did so. As they set their foot inside the Guild Master"s Office, Gray and Selena"s eyes slightly widened with surprise at seeing that Malic is not alone as they witness the old warrior sitting behind his office desk. Accompanying him is a particular lizardling druid that the soul-siblings know all too well as he is shown to be making himself quite comfortable in the chair that he is sitting. "Master," Gray spoke up with pleasant wonder. "What are you doing here?" Rarsu acknowledged by crossing his arms as he stared at Gray with a severe look. "I a.s.sume that you were briefed that it was I who suggested Malic for you and Selena to be part of this errand of his despite you not being a member of the guild. As for the reason I"m here, I wanted to hear what you have found in that cave with my own two ears. But first things, first." A gust of wind suddenly made itself known as a result of the lizardling"s magic, opening the window right behind Malic. The wind did not stop there as a certain little brown sparrow was sent forcefully inside by the impact, scrambling right at down at the floor, similar to how she was treated during her first meeting with the lizardling months ago. After recovering quickly, the sparrow flew right at Rarsu"s face to meet him at eye level as she began chirping and tweeting non-stop as a way of expressing her frustration against the lizardling. The rest of the room"s occupants could only gawk at the ongoing scenery in bafflement of a small bird seemingly arguing with Rarsu, evident by the animal"s high-pitched tweets that resonated inside the entire room. Rarsu, in response, simply yawned in boredom as he glanced at the sparrow with a stoic look. Having had enough of the creature"s chirping rant, Rarsu snapped his finger as he dispelled a certain magical effect of the bird. At this very moment, all of them witnessed a particular magical phenomenon as the sparrow"s little body glowed in green light. After a few seconds, the light dissipated, now revealing to be a young teenage girl replacing the very spot at where the sparrow is. The funny thing though, is that the bl.u.s.ter of the sparrow turned girl is still ongoing as she continued to spout her rants at the lizardling, this time in the common tongue. "-you"re a mean and horrible person!!! I mean, you could have asked nicely for me to come in, but nooo!!! You used wind magic to force my b.u.t.t here inside forcibly… again!! And let"s not forget the fact that-" This time, Rarsu was seen to be twitching in annoyance as the coherent speech of a human girl is far more irritating than repet.i.tive chirps coming from a sparrow. As a result, he gave her no opportunity to finish her statement as he instantly chopped the young girl on her head. "Aw!!!" Indeed, her reaction was comically instantaneous as she was sent to the floor, kneeling while clutching her head in pain with comical tears flowing from her eyes. "If you are done with your insufferable rants, little girl." Rarsu shook his head in unamus.e.m.e.nt. "Introduce yourself to my apprentice and his companions so we can get on to business quickly." "Fine." The human girl made a soft sniff, having recovered from Rarsu"s blow. She then fixed her posture as she stood up firmly, eyeing at the rest of the occupants of the office, most particularly at Gray, as she bowed down in curtsy with her skirt. "Where are my manners, my name is Liliane Springflower, one of the druid apprentices of the High Druid and an envoy of the Order. You may call me Lily for short. A pleasure to meet you all." Liliane Springflower Level 22: u003cDruidu003e Health: 1,694 / 1,694 Stamina: 1,145 / 1,145 Mana: 3,718 / 3,718 "The Order, huh." Gray frowned mentally as he was aware of that particular organization that houses a few but the most skilled of Druids in Whitemoor as told to him by Rarsu during his training. The elf also knows a little bit of the background concerning his Master"s previous affiliation with the said group, having some disagreements with the High Druid, as Rarsu told him. Gray was also told that despite the Order"s n.o.ble intentions of maintaining the peace and order of this land, they could be quite secretive and some of their methods are questionable, mandated by the High Druid as he utilized any means necessary for the so-called good of this land, with Rarsu explaining some of them in detail. As such, Rarsu told Gray that he should not give his full trust to the Order and tread lightly when speaking with one of the members. As for the exact reason as to why Rarsu ultimately left the Order in the end? Let"s just say for now that Gray and Selena were not amused upon hearing their Master"s story as they gave their full support to the lizardling with a determined look on their very eyes and vowing to avenge Amirah if the opportunity presented itself. Anyways back to the present scenario. Taking a closer inspection at the human girl in her late teens, one is not so blind to see that she"s a young woman of true beauty, especially with her radiant green eyes. She possessed a burnt orange-colored hair, styled in a short bob with bangs covering a small portion of her forehead. The girl currently wears a light-brown hooded cowl covering the upper part of her long-sleeve white dress and a brown corset that hugged her thin waistline while accentuating her pair of generous womanly a.s.sets. Her lower garments consisted of a white skirt that is a part of her dress and a couple of boots that fit her legs tightly and extends above her knees. They are light brown, having a split at the top in which are kept together by strings. The boots also have frilly edges below the collars. As a man with a healthy appreciation of the female anatomy, Gray was definitely drawn by her beauty. Although, he"s currently not showing it as he merely eyed the girl with a stoic expression. He prided himself with his immense self-control and professionalism, and won"t be dissuaded easily by mere physical looks. Add to the fact that she"s a member of the Order, so he won"t be trustful to her just like that, even though she seemed cheery, sweet, and kind of nice on his first impressions about her. Lily suddenly made her approached at Gray as she smiled at him in a friendly manner. "You"re Gray Allister, correct?" Her eyes s.h.i.+ned in antic.i.p.ation as she waited for the elf"s answer. "I"m not sure how you know my name, but yes." The elf answered while feeling weirded out by the way the girl looks at him. "By Wynather"s wisdom, it"s certainly an honor of meeting someone like you!!" Lily shamelessly grabbed Gray"s hands and stared at him in reverence. "Someone like me?" Gray questioned the human girl while raising a brow in curiosity. His sights then turned to Rarsu as he asked for some help and clarification of the predicament he found himself in with her. "It"s a long story," Rarsu replied, realizing the look of plea that he was receiving from his apprentice. "I"ll tell you later when we get back to our home." Gray nodded in response as Liliane released her hand from him while still retaining her angelic smile. Of course, Lily did not disregard the rest of Gray"s companions out of respect, and all of them introduced themselves in return. The female druid"s excitement skyrocketed; however, when she finally got to meet Selena, particularly in person, having prior knowledge of the Sentinel back when she was a sparrow eavesdropping the soul-siblings for the last three months. Selena, upon feasting her eyes on the new girl, could not help but be threatened by her presence, clenching her fist tightly in a subtle manner as she was unquestionably annoyed at this stranger suddenly clinging to her brother rather closely earlier. Additionally, the female druid being a member of the Order certainly did not help her case. That, and the human girl was well-endowed, much to the Sentinel"s unliking. So yes, Selena found out about the dark emotion of jealousy on this memorable day. Of course, no one knew of her true emotions as a Sentinel, being both an a.s.set and a liability at the same time, depending on the situation. As such, Selena simply nodded in acknowledgment to Lily, in favor of being reasonable and polite in this social endeavor. "Y-yes." The Sentinel contained her annoyance at Lily as she spoke telepathically. "I suppose it"s a pleasure to meet you as well." Lily smiled brightly in return. She treated the Sentinel girl"s gesture positively, grabbing and shaking her hand enthusiastically in the same manner as she did with Gray and slightly catching Selena off guard by such friendly actions. "Hmm, perhaps I misjudge." Selena thought to herself as she decided to spare Lily of further hostilities. "But I still don"t trust her." After the introductions were all said and done, Malic cleared his throat to catch everyone"s attention and instructed the group of four to impart at what they have managed to found out during their time in the cave.
