"I love you too." Cedric was now lowering the boat and once it reached the water he unclipped the boat. "So, what do you think of being out in the sunlight?""It is bright and hot. It is going to take some getting used to but I am enjoying my time in it. I do not feel the pull as much anymore. That does not mean that I do not feel it at all but it is no longer as bad." Yuki was laying back in a chair watching Cedric work.
"I am glad. Do you want to open a trap today while it is less likely that someone will come and see you?" Cedric navigated the water and went to the first trap and pulled up the last trap instead of going to the ones that they went to yesterday.
"Yes, please. I may not get to do this tomorrow." Yuki slowly stood up and started to pull the trap up.
Cedric smiled and opened the first cooler. "Good, now bring the trap over and you see the latch. It has a b.u.t.ton that you press on the top." He points to the b.u.t.ton.
Yuki presses the b.u.t.ton and the cage door opens. All the sea critters they catch slide out and land in the cooler. "That was pretty neat but there are boaters out and about. So please reset the trap and I will lay back down." Yuki laid back down and watched Cedric reset the trap and add seawater to the creatures.
A different boat pulled up beside Cedric and in it was Alex. "Good afternoon. I saw you leave so I thought I should check up on you two. I heard about the break-in. I am appalled by what happened. Liliana, I hope that you recover and I will be helping look after the waters to make sure that this doesn"t happen again. We decided to make teams to monitor the waters and keep you guys safe. I promise we will not bother you. If someone gets on your guys" nerves we will a.s.sist you."
Cedric looked up at Alex. "Thank you. I want you to know that I have my usual guest with me and another girl. Claude brought up his girl."
"Claude"s here too! Then you guys will be safe but we will not stop our mission. I will go and pop over and say hi to him. Here is my number if you need help." Alex held a card for Cedric to take.
Cedric took the card and waved Alex off. "Thank you, do be safe out here."
Yuki waved at Alex. "Thank you. I will be okay but thank you for your concern." She watched as he drove away. "So it seems like we will not be having any visitors?"
"It sure seems that way. I was not exactly expecting this but it is a good thing. I am happy that you are going to be safe." Cedric dropped the trap then rowed to the next one and pulled it up. He placed the card in his wallet. "Whatever makes the town happy, I will let them do as they wish. There is a chance that Liam may come out here. We will give him what he would like for dinner."
"Oh yes, I will not disagree with that choice. Liam is a good kid. He is probably freaking out right now." Yuki looked towards the boat and sighed.
Cedric repeated the process with this cage and then went to the next one. He saw a smaller boat coming towards him.
"SIR, MADAM! Are you okay?" Liam steered the boat up and saw that Cedric was collecting from the traps. He sighed in relief.
"Good morning, Liam. I am fine. You did not need to rush over but now that you are here. Go over to the other side and take all the broken traps to the dock. If need be bring Claude more new traps to set. I do not think that they broke many on this side."
"Okay! I will go help, Claude. It will be good to catch up with him. Oh and this is for your girl!" Liam picked up a bouquet of flowers. "I cut them myself. I hope that you do not mind that they are real flowers." Liam smiled and placed them on the seat before driving over to Claude.
"Thank you, Liam," Yuki yelled this and stayed seated until the boat was out of sight. She got up and picked up the flowers. "Real flowers are stunning. I hope that he will not get in trouble for this."
"He will not. His mother is the town florist. She trained him to cut the stems long from the garden and she probably felt bad about what she heard and ordered Liam to bring them since I am his boss." Cedric rowed the boat to the next few and in the middle, he found a broken trap. "Those f.u.c.kers."
Yuki touched the petals on the flowers. "I can feel the love and care that was put into the flowers. I love the colours that they had chosen." Yuki smelled the flowers and watched as Cedric pulled out a broken trap.
"This is a pretty bad break." Cedric showed Yuki the front door was gone and that the top was hanging on by only one side. "On the plus side, we get to keep the crab that is caught in the cage." He pulled the crab off and added it to the bucket. Then he detached the trap and added a new one that he already had on the s.h.i.+p.
"Is there a size limit that is connected with the crabs and lobsters and how do you know what that is?" Yuki watched as he replaced the trap with a new one.
"There is. I know when to throw something back because I am used to the size limits. The shrimp that are caught if they can"t get out they are good to eat. The crabs and lobsters are done by size. That is one of the reasons I keep them in seawater. I do not want to accidentally kill a creature that needs to grow more." Cedric paddled to the next trap and pulled it up.
