"I see a mortal, obtaining what I think is enlightenment.""What you think? What makes you so unsure? Are you not a high and mighty immortal? Can you not cleave mountains and split seas as you wish? What makes you, such a great being, flummoxed!"
"We were taught that enlightenment has two signs. These two signs move together. Yet here upon this mortal, one of the signs is there, by its own."
"Oh dear, forgive me for I am a foolish old man, I don"t understand what you mean. What is this inauspicious sign that is missing."
"Enlightenment is a unique interaction with the Dao. There are only two such interactions. The first is through destiny which manifests as environmental signs like earthquakes, tidal waves the list goes on. Destiny is what this boy is lacking. He is lacking any at all, it"s absurd."
"Young one it seems you are looking and not seeing. Do not stray from the conversation."
"Ah yes sorry. The second is Karma. The environment outside you slowly changes to match the environment within you and vice versa. Your dantian becomes a true dantian, reflecting the outside. I can see the boy"s dantian, it"s mimicking his outside, becoming a sandy beach. This and the speed at which it is happening can only mean the boy has experienced true enlightenment. Rumored to only occur as frequently as a blue moon.
The Solitary Sword Sovereign Manual makes one"s dantian simply mimic the environment they feel comfortable in. Will"s affinity to water explains why its a beach, but there is nothing in connection to his Sword Dao."
"Are you sure?"
Once Modus spoke, he pressed on Adelda"s forehead, causing her to scream. But it was not agony, nor was it happiness. It was shocking. She was looking at Wills dantian differently. In dots. Everything seemed to be made in dots. The dots differed in size, but there would be others of a similar size close by relative to the size of the dot. It was only in this dot form did she notice something.
"This world. Its swords. All of it is swords!"
Adelda"s exclamation was not without merit. If a line was used to connect dots of the same type, it would result in a sword taking form. Countless swords made by connecting the dots covered Adelda"s mental world. One sword, in particular, stood out. It was the largest sword there was. In the image of Will"s dantian, bigger dots made bigger swords. There was however an exception, and that was the largest sword! It was made from the smallest dots in exquisite detail. Adelda"s Soul Force tried to get a better view, but a somber voice ruined her from her endeavor.
"Tsk tsk kid, you are looking through my eyes. This is as much as you get. Now you were saying?"
Modus let go of Adelda, allowing her to get up.
Modus stroked his beard and pointed once more to the ground beneath them. "What do you see?"
Adelda shook her head, "I don"t know Master. I see the Karma but not his Destiny."
Modus then put a hand behind his back and once more gave Adelda a sideways glance, "Child, do you know what a World of Roads is?"
Adelda nodded, "Of course, every immortal does. Worlds where karma and Destiny flow freely, resulting in their futures being impossible to predict. But this can"t be one, it"s small. Worlds of roads are usually huge. They also need…?"
Adelda gasped and look down, "He...he is the Sovereign, which means-"
Modus put an arm behind her back and said, "Child I only partially opened your gaze. Calm yourself and continue with your duties."
Adelda sighed, "I let you something unruly, forgive me, Master."
"Child, relax. Let"s move on, I hear that Silverton has 6 spots. But there is an issue?"
Adelda coughed and straightened her posture, "Yes Master, Silverton will only give these spots to people of the same region. The more powerful worlds in this region want to hog the spots, such as Eridium.
It is this subordinate"s belief that Eridium will do a complete slaughter, they will only use the might of their cla.s.ses and users to show their worthiness, as a show of power to the other Mid-sized planets."
"Well, do you think Earth has a chance?"
Adelda did not waste time thinking. "The result is obvious. Eridium will get wiped out, without a trace."
Modus gave her one more sideways glance with a grin. His silhouette disappeared, but his voice lingered next to her, "Hahaha! You are not so stupid. Welcome to the big game!"
A stupified Adelda stood there ruminating over everything she had seen Will done that should have been impossible at the time. The Second Totem. Achieving a True Strike with virtually no lessons. Achieving two Empyrean Intents that oppose each other in nature. Fusing the two Empyrean Intents to creating something that even Lord Modus does not know or understanding. Mastering the basics of formations so quickly. Having gained the favor of that man…
The list went on. Then she considered the requirements for a world to become a World of Roads. She, a supreme immortal of the high heavens, stood there like a fool with saliva dripping out of her mouth. Contrary to her appearance, she was having a little enlightenment of her own.
