The timer of Xue Guangli"s watch went off, so she gathered her things and drove to w.a.n.g Weimin"s apartment. She wanted to show him the magazine cover.

Once she went in, instead of a greeting, w.a.n.g Weimin said, "I need you to sign the prenuptial agreement."

Xue Guangli frowned. He had set up the papers on the table for her to look over. She then skimmed through when she realized something. "I need you to add a clause, involving my company, too," she said.

She had to sign it because it was a regular thing. w.a.n.g Weimin was rich, and she wasn"t, but that didn"t mean she had to leave the stores out of it.

w.a.n.g Weimin knitted his brows, puzzled. He chuckled. "My dear, your company doesn"t have enough a.s.sets or revenue for me to take," he said, slightly offended. But it offended Xue Guangli more. But instead, she smiled, "You"re absolutely right, but still, I need the clause in there," she said finished sweetly.

w.a.n.g Weimin rolled his. "Then I have to request a new agreement," he said it as if it was an inconvenience to him. Xue Guangli smiled grimly.

There was a long pause. w.a.n.g Weimin left to use the washroom, while Xue Guangli took the prenuptial agreement and stuffed it in her purse.

When he returned, she said, "I realized I needed to go home," she said.

"Why? You just got here?" w.a.n.g Weimin questioned.

"I"m tired is all," she responded, yawning shortly after.

"What could you have been doing all day that made you tired?" he asked her.

"I was mending dresses and designing new clothes," she responded.

w.a.n.g Weimin chuckled. "How could that make someone tired? You were sitting all day," he said.

He made it seem like what she did for a living was not a real job.

"You were, too," Xue Guangli retorted.

w.a.n.g Weimin chuckled. He raised his hand in surrender. "You got me," he said, but Xue Guangli still felt agitated. She then left the house abruptly. She wanted to have the chance to talk to him, to reevaluate their relations.h.i.+p. He was changing, and she was beginning to see it. Or had always been like this, and she never realized it before because of all her grieving and wallowing?

It was late, but she was angry, taking out her phone and dialled a number.

"h.e.l.lo?" a female voice said, slightly tired.

"Qian Meigui? Hi, h.e.l.lo, sorry for calling so late. I was wondering if you can look over something for me when you get the choice?"

Qian Meigui"s voice lightened. "Of course! Please come over to my house, and I will see you right away."

After Xue Guangli hung up the call, she went right over, unreserved. Qian Meigui didn"t live far.

When she arrived, Qian Meigui greeted her at the door; she wore pink cotton pyjamas with slippers.

"Please, come in," she said.

The last time Xue Guangli had come over was during her wedding, it was full of people, and although there was a lot of furniture, it was now rather quiet and calming. Qian Meigui must have had the entire house with her husband, alone, just the two of them.

Qian Meigui guided her to a table in the living room. She then gestured her to sit. Xue Guangli took a seat, and she gazed around the s.p.a.ce. Soon after, someone else had entered the room holding a tray of snacks. He was tall and handsome, with a head of black hair like Long Huojin, but instead of blue eyes, his eyes were gold-flecked.

He set the tray in front of them.

Xue Guangli gaped as she did not expect him. "h.e.l.lo, Mr. Song," she said, her voice slightly nervous.

Song Sheng smiled at her. "h.e.l.lo again, Miss Xue."

"Erm…" Xue Guangli bowed, she was star-struck. Song Sheng was the CEO of an Entertainment company; he was also a famous actor; he was also the one who helped her get her finances back. "I want to thank you for what you and your wife had done for my sisters and me," she said ceremoniously.

When she raised her head, Song Sheng maintained his grin. "No need to thank me, Miss Xue. You have done everything to make my wife look…" he trailed off to gaze at his wife, affectionately, intensely. Xue Guangli"s cheeks heated; it was too much.

Qian Meigui suddenly hit him on the stomach. "I"m sorry," she began. "My husband can be very shameless," she said. She then glared at her husband, but he remained smiling.

Xue Guangli realized that Qian Meigui hit him with her left hand where she kept stroking her belly with the right. Was she pregnant?

"Anyways," Qian Meigui began again, changing the subject. "What can I help you with?"

When she asked the question, Song Sheng had walked towards the kitchen, leaving them alone.

Xue Guangli said, "Ah, I need you to look at this page for me," she said to her. She then pulled out a piece of paper from the prenuptial agreement. Qian Meigui looked over the page, intently.

"Your prenuptial agreement?" Qian Meigui asked.

Xue Guangli smiled. "Mhm," she said.

"All right. Can I ask to see your income, flow of revenue, and a.s.sets?" Qian Meigui asked. Xue Guangli then pulled out her tabloid to show Qian Meigui. She was one of the best lawyers in the city, and Xue Guangli desperately needed her legal advice.

It took nearly half an hour, but Xue Guangli enjoyed herself with some of the snacks Song Sheng had given them.

Throughout the entire time, Qian Meigui kept a calm composure, nearly emotionless. She must have been trained not to reveal anything good or bad through her expressions. But in the end, she sighed and said, "I"m glad you saw me," she said.

Xue Guangli straightened against her seat. "What is it?"

"I can see that you have circled this part of the agreement. You were right. Mr. w.a.n.g did not intend to put a section involving your stores," she said.

Xue Guangli thought about it. "But that could also mean that he doesn"t antic.i.p.ate a divorce, right?"

Qian Meigui smiled grimly, almost pitifully. She then turned the tabloid. "I have gathered the statistics, and it shows that your revenue has sky-rocketed. Guangli, your company is growing," she said. "If Mr. w.a.n.g didn"t enter a subsection about Summer-Autumn Designs under your name, it wasn"t because he thought you guys would stay married. It was because he intended on buying them under his name," she said. "Then it would not belong to you."

Xue Guangli froze. She began to slump against her chair. Her eyes widened and welling.

She heard Qian Meigui continue, "Luckily, you can request a new agreement and avoid any ramifications," she said.

But Xue Guangli had already stood, smiling, tears flowing. "Thank you, Xiao Mei, for your time."

She then pushed her chair back, walking away, letting herself out. She heard Qian Meigui call out her name, but she ignored it.
