Sorceress

Chapter 32

Now that both were calm he told her. "Go on open the other one."

He spoke as if a wyvern was nothing much;-- as if it was only the tip of the iceberg.

Going to the next cage, all the others had shut up from the explosive roar Arkalat had shouted no one wanted him to knock them out…

She pulled the second mid-sized cage tissue and was shocked speechless! Another Wyvern this time she stared at him not risking to believe her own sights that made three wyverns in their home.

She had a hatchling one these were about one or two hundred years old they were as clever as a small juvenile.

This one was much less hair-raising with its white scales and golden eyes making it look a little less fearsome still it also seemed much perceptive. Likely a little smarter then the other at least it did not flap its wings and roar like all h.e.l.l broke loose.

Patting its head he told her again.

"Sweetheart don"t stop now the best is still to come" He gave her a dashing smile.

She stared at him for a minute before moving to the smaller cages, of course, she was now curious of what could be better than those two wyverns as both of them looked quite the priceless type.

Pulling the two last covers she let out a shocked gasp her eyes become wide from the shock it was Dragons! It was the two little baby dragons!

Seeing her frozen in place as she stared at those two little dragons hatchlings he smiled triumphantly.

"So are you happy with them?" he asked teasing her as he got closer to her his hand ran along her spine taking her out of that torpor shocked state.

She looked at him tears gently fell from her eyes, he had moved her to tears from surprises to surprises during the day her mind was in great turmoil.

Those to dragons she could not accept them he had brought so much she did not want him to waste his money like this, those two small dragons were enough money to found a country!

"They are beautiful but I cannot accept them" She spoke quietly with small sobs breaking through as she restrained herself form outright crying.

In her family she never had lacked anything, her village was quite the easy to live in a nice little place.

But she had met a great calamity and it was now in ruin when she had wondered for a day in the forest trying to escape the birdman he was the one that had saved her.

When the hydra kidnapped her, he came to her rescue and saved her from that nefarious plan that Dravick wanted to do to her, which would have trapped her in that mansion forever like so many other girls.

While she had forgiven Dravick she had not forgotten the ordeal. He had caused her magic to become sc.r.a.ps.

Luckily she had Arkalat or her future would have been a disaster!

She cuddled into his arms as he hugged her leaning his head on hers he spoke again.

"But if you can"t accept them as simple gifts just take them as part of the betrothal gift from me, since I have not given you any yet." he placed a dotting kiss on her head.

Lifting her tear filled face up, holding to his shirt tightly she then hid her face to his chest where she had let go of all her planted up emotions of insecurity and the fears that had held her hostage for a while was now gone.

She now understood that he was a little awkward at showing he cared while he always acted dotingly toward her she was afraid it was a false facade but now she knew that it was not the case.

They had not meet long ago and she was afraid that he would abandon her since where he came from women where not worth a fart!

She had forgotten while that was true oath on the name where respected and revered as if their life would end if they did not.

It would be seen as becoming a cursed felon if one relegated a swollen oath.

He held her tightly against him until she finnally stopped her sobbing where her red little face was meet with a roguish teasing grin.
