Sorceress

Chapter 66

Crossing an ocean large river are caravan convoy of soldiers, mercenaries and slaves sauntered.

The deepness of the river reached up to the saddle of most larger mounts the others needed to swim to keep afloat.

Except for the wyvern where the water reached barely under there chest at the thickest point.

The riverbed varied often and greatly in deepness between ankle deep to more or less six feet deep.

Looking at how large and long this crossover would be Arkalat soon decided to move both wyverns at the head and close the march with the flying dragonlings as they could survey the area from higher up. Which would then let them see the hidden monsters silhouettes.

The fey dragonling especially liked humans and others good creatures as for the physics dragonling he viewed the other travellers of there group as chest pieces.

He would give the warnings only so they could fight it and defend his mistress. The difference in views of others more and more resembles those of their master couple.

The fey being naturally more gentle and kind as the psionic being more practical and unconcerned if it did not affect him or his master personally.

They could see larger shapes roaming in the water, but they seemed, for now, to stay clear of the group.

They, after all, we"re far from moving slowly and did not look exhausted yet.

Via a telekinetic voice, he spoke to Arkalat. "Master we can see several monsters that are trailing us but are keeping a safe distance."

"Keep watching if people start falling behind warn me otherwise those things will close in."

"We will rest at the next uphill, so we can rearrange the group and let those that have to swim rest for some time."

"Very well Master."

The Dragonling eyes continued to follow the dark silhouettes that hid under the surface.

The water at the pa.s.sageway was nowhere deep enough form to let them drag a large animal down; they could only hope for stragglers.

This game of stalking lasted until the group reached a plateau where the water only barely covered it.

There the large aquatic monsters could only take a detour and reroute further being unable to follow up on it. Many breathed a sigh of relief. They were exhausted the mounts, as well as, the animals used to carry the packages and food a top there backs.

Counting the miles they only had made it a third of the way.

They would camp on this plateau for eight hours until they would attack the next deep.

Arkalat dismounted of his wyvern reaching for the palanquin that Speranza was sitting on safely atop her own.

Helping her down carefully, a small smile curled his lip.

Her gorgeous face lighted up her eyes brilliantly sparkled as if the night sky had taken residence in them. The fire red hair gently danced as he moved her down to reach the ground. He did not set her down until her palanquin was placed down from the wyverns back.

To be made room for her for the night.

Her feet never even touched the water, after all, he feared that she would find it too cold and in turn that it would harm her body.

Wrapping her arm around his neck as he took her into a princess carry she smiled as their eyes were at the same level.

Only once the slaves had placed down the palanquin securely on a wooden foundation above water did he set her down inside.

After placing a light perk kiss on her forehead, he turned around speaking to the some of the soldiers.

"You there, gather four more and come with me. We will go scout the route ahead from above."
