The person Marion wanted to see the most in this moment is just right in front of him and yet, he couldn"t make himself be happy."I came too late." he said to himself.
He reached out for her with shaking hands, and the moment his hands touched her, she fell unconscious.
His mind turned empty. He blanked out while holding her in his arms. He looked at her. Her face is pale, with sweat covering her forehead. Her eyebrows are knitted, reminding him that she"s in pain. Her stomach, is bleeding. She is suffering right now. And he, is hurting too.
"Wake up.. I"m here now, please wake up." He said anxiously.
His heart felt heavy. Right now, all he feel is fear. As if this thing has also happened before. What if the girl in his arms no longer wake up? He carried her, while his body is shaking badly. His heart telling him that he has failed again. Failed again in protecting her.
"It hurts" he said in his mind. He felt really suffocated as if someone"s trying to crush his heart.
He can hear the sirens of the policemen nearby, but he ignored them. The only thing in his mind, is that he"ll not let another person hurt her.
People started rushing towards him and the girl in his arms, but he won"t let them get near her. He let her stand while supporting her with one hand. He pulled out his gun, and started shooting before their feet, not allowing them to make another step.
Gunshots were again heard, this time it"s coming from Marion"s gun.
He stood there with mad eyes, ready to shoot anytime if someone tried to get her away from him.
He could vaguely hear those people shouting at him. Someone even pointed their gun at him, but he"s not afraid. Of course he"s not afraid, because right now he can"t feel anything besides the pain in his heart.
"Marion! What are you doing?!" Ryan was also with the people who came. He shouted at his friend.
"She needs medical treatment! Bring her here now!" He said trying to convince his friend.
This is the first time he saw Marion like that. He doesn"t dare doubt that he"ll shoot anyone who gets near Sorcha. He can clearly see the pain, madness, and confusion in his eyes. He knows that Marion doesn"t know what to do, but he needs to remind him that Sorcha needs to be treated.
"Marion, come here and we"ll send her to the hospital okay?" He said mildly, afraid to further agitate him.
Ryan saw him look in his direction, and rejoiced. "Let"s go okay?" He added.
Marion looked again at Sorcha. "Right, hospital. I need to take her to the hospital!"
He suddenly came into himself once again. He carried her and started to walk towards Ryan, trying to be gentle with the girl in his arms. But he still won"t let the gun down. He cannot trust anyone with her life.
