243 – t.i.t For Tat (3) (针锋相对(三))
The moment this was said, Jing Tie Jun was sh.e.l.l-shocked. The villagers watching outside with expressions of justice were similarly flabbergasted.
w.a.n.g Xin Fang only though that Jing Yun Zhao was just being stubborn. It wasn’t as if they never tried treating her well, but her personality was cold and they couldn’t see any kind of enthusiasm in her. To want her to listen and be obedient to them, how much coaxing would that take? The two of them wished to do so, but they didn’t have that much patience.
Moreover, it wasn’t too much of a problem if it was just coaxing her since they wouldn’t meet often and didn’t have to worry, but she couldn’t control herself now that her son was involved.
Jing Yun Zhao was now their daughter, but it was still a huge difference between her and a real daughter.
Jing Xiu wasn’t like her, Xiu-er was obedient and knew how to take care of her younger siblings. When she was only five or six years old, she already knew how to take care of household ch.o.r.es. Whatever they said would be final, she would never disobey them.
If Jing Yun Zhao had the same temper as Jing Xiu, things definitely wouldn’t come to this.
“You’re trying to say that you won’t treat us as your parents anymore?” Jing Tie Jun sullenly asked, his heart beating non-stop in panic.
They weren’t able to control themselves just now, but to once again behave like amiable and friendly parents to let Jing Yun Zhao devote herself to them completely would, of course, be impossible, so since things were already like this, they could only omit that step. Otherwise, their efforts so far would be for nothing.
Jing Yun Zhao turned her head to eye the man, “I think you guys also might not have necessarily treated me as your daughter!”
Rather than a daughter, it was more like a stepping stone for their son, hoping that she would be as obedient as Jing Xiu and become a ‘household expert’ without any future to speak of.
(Ome: Being a “householder expert” by their own conviction and being forced into one is totally different. JYZ said that there is no future FOR HER by being one, but if you want to be one, you do you, and do what you want.)
How could she be willing to be that kind of person in this lifetime?
However, thinking about Jing Xiu, Jing Yun Zhao looked at her.
Only to see the girl’s eyes exposing a complicated sort of gaze, it was like she was envious of her courage yet at the same time worried about her circ.u.mstances.
She was a not bad younger sister.
“Wah…” w.a.n.g Xin Fang’s b.u.t.t suddenly fell to the floor as she started bawling. “What kind of sin have I committed?! The daughter that I spent so much effort to look for disdains the poor and favours the rich and despises us two as her parents. Pity me for waking up before dawn broke to endure the soot and smoke to prepare a table of food for her. Pity me for carrying her in me for 10 months that year…” (Cosmic: Spare me the pity party.)
Jing Yun Zhao’s expression darkened.
Shameless!
If the ones who treated her like this was Qiao Wei Min, Jing Yun Zhao would, without hesitation, drag the person off the ground to give them a good beating. Unfortunately, this one now was someone who had blood ties with her. No matter how much unhappiness and complaints she had in her heart, she couldn’t raise her hand nor curse. This was too sullen!
“This yard is so lively? This young master isn’t late right?”
Just as Jing Yun Zhao was about to toughen her skin to rush forward, a figure walked forward from the crowd.
He wore a white coloured blouse with cuffs rolled up and neckline exposed. It was obviously just a normal s.h.i.+rt, but when he wore it, it carried a wanton and unrestrained charm.
Jing Yun Zhao’s eyes expressed her shock, “Why are you here?”
Li Shao Yun.
Even though her mood wasn’t that good during their call last evening, she never told him about the circ.u.mstances. How did he find himself all the way at the Jing house?
What’s more, wasn’t he still at the capital last night?
“If this young master didn’t even come, later during our call at night, wouldn’t I have to listen to your crying and sniffling?” Li Shao Yun played things down as he spoke.
Jing Yun Zhao rolled her eyes at his antics. It was true that she was sullen, but it wasn’t to the point of crying, right?
She’d dismiss it if she didn’t recognize these parents. She wouldn’t do things that would harm herself for anyone. To call her selfish or heartless, she didn’t care. You only live once, people should love themselves more.
If Li Shao Yun didn’t come, it would equate to this couple crying across the horizon. She still had to leave when the time came. In the future, if they were to ever cross roads again, they’d just treat each other as strangers.
