246 – The Truth (实情)
Jing Xiu was in a complicated mood and even wanted to tell Jing Yun Zhao a different truth.
She had heard her parents chat a long time ago mentioning that she did have an older sister. After she was born, she was indeed abandoned by their grandmother, but she was left on the mountain. Her parents had gone in search of her, but she was already dead by the time they found her. They even buried her, but because this matter was not very auspiscous, outsiders didn’t need to know.
She hadn’t heard it clearly during the conversation back then, so there might have been some discrepancies. However, it was still a fact that Jing Yun Zhao wasn’t her eldest sister!
Plus, just a few days ago, her parents suddenly became ecstatic saying they’d found their backer, so in the future, they would have the money to construct a house for her younger brother. On the same day, they told the three siblings that they had found their eldest sister outside.
She didn’t know much, but she knew that her parents wouldn’t dote on daughters, so it was extra strange for them to anxiously want to recognize someone with no blood ties as their daughter.
Jing Xiu opened her mouth as if wanting to say something, but she was dragged away to the back by Jing Tie Jun as if she was a falling leaf. w.a.n.g Xin Fang also followed along, twisting Jing Xiu’s body to stuff her indoors.
“I’ve troubled you two. Why don’t you leave first? After you leave, I’ll be able to leave, “Jing Yun Zhao apologetically suggested.
The strength of the villagers wasn’t to be looked down on, it wouldn’t be good if the two of them were injured by accident.
If she was alone, although there would be some difficulty, she would still be able to barely get out.
Yet, Li Shao Yun smiled at her, “You think I’m here to be an inconvenience? Follow Du Lin. Today, this lord will show you what it means by one man holding the pa.s.s against ten thousand enemies!”
As he spoke, he folded his cuffs and raised his guard. His gaze was chilly, and his aura was like a practised person’s.
Jing Yun Zhao’s heart trembled and her eyes shone brightly, “You know martial arts?”
“Are there any lords who don’t? Do you think I’m like Du Lin, only knowing how to eat?” Li Shao Yun’s voice was laced with light contempt. (Ome: poor Du LIn he was just helping and a rock fell on him)
Speaking of, if others were to know that he came all the way here just to come to throw blows with a bunch of uncultured savages, it would be the joke of the century! However, he also didn’t know what kind of curse he was under. Seeing this crowd of people, he became angrier than if he were to be facing real murderous devils.
Li Shao Yun’s expression was so chilling it was scary. Jing Yun Zhao was also someone who practised martial arts; the moment he released his aura, she could immediately feel a sense of crisis. Her heart was also feeling a myriad of shock.
Looking at how Li Shao Yun usually behaved, she really thought that this guy was a rich and powerful playboy. Additionally, he was stuck in the hospital the entire time before he left Hua Ning County, giving her the image that he had a weak body; practically a sickly prince.
But now, it seemed like it was far from the truth.
“I don’t need Du Lin to protect me. Let’s just protect ourselves, you shouldn’t look down on me either,” Jing Yun Zhao swept away the dark thoughts about that family or the situation they were in and smiled.
Behind, Du Lin was sweating heavily from nerves. Especially when Li Shao Yun told Jing Yun Zhao to follow him just now, his legs were about to turn into noodles!
He was just a small chef and had only learned a few moves from Li Shao Yun in the past few years, but he had never made use of it. Facing all the metal shovels and hoes, he wouldn’t be beaten into a paste, would he? (Ome: at least he could say that there was once that he had hoes raining all around him lol.)
Du Lin was feeling nervous, but he saw that Li Shao Yun’s figure was shockingly fast; his hands tore away the ‘weapon’ in his opponents’ hands, his feet landing on their chests. In the next second, he was already kicked far far away.
Everything Li Shao Yun did was meant to kill, but these people were all civilian villagers. He could teach them a lesson, but not draw blood, so he didn’t really enjoy it.
But as he saw Jing Yun Zhao from the corner of his eyes, his gaze paused on her.
She didn’t know whose wooden stick she had stolen, but whenever she made a move, she would hit each one accurately. The ones. .h.i.t by her all screamed ‘ao ao!’, it seemed like she could fully control the situation even alone!
On the other hand, Du Lin hid behind her shadow. His behaviour was basically giving moral support, but it was obvious that his actions were making Jing Yun Zhao apprehensive. She looked like a mother hen protecting her little chick.
Du Lin was basically pretending to be small and weak.
Li Shao Yun’s eyes flashed and, in the next second, he threw Du Lin away from Jing Yun Zhao’s side. He also took over his place in standing behind Jing Yun Zhao and started shouting,” Left, left, it’s coming from the right again…”
